Nice element additions. Clearly a good idea not to allow editing of the image content, but rahter show the status. Considering the way uploads are approved, this could assure the ireport staffs' workload doesn't tripple overnight while offering the user the comfort of "not wondering" what's going on with their story.
After a post is uploaded and successful, this should be made more apparent to the user so that the "status" function is noted and the user becomes aware instantly.
Controlling users is an issue, especially considering tracting a specific computer and associated IP # is so difficult, if not impossible right now. However, this capability should be available within 6 months or so.
I would suggest intergrating it when it's available. Banning, or deleting an abusing user is not so hard, keeping them from logging back on with another name is.
With computer IP # technology at your hands, a ban would end up being, a ban because you're banning that specific computer rather than the network it's navigating to ireport from.
Not a huge issue, but my last experiece and the emails and phone calls I received because of it led me to believe many so called "top" reporters and many others could be lost because of a small few, this wouldn't be good.
There are a few thrid party providers that have nearly completed this ability that seem to lead the pack. If interested, feel free to drop me an email and I'll provide the list.
Otherwise, the only thing I have to offer at this point is that the platform was/is an awesome idea. The latest numbers I've looked at indicate a very large ( and I'll bet somewhat unexpected) jump in viewership and interactivity. Great work folks!
