REPUBLICANS GOT US IN THIS MESS, FROM 9/11, OUR FAILING ECONOMY,
AND LACK OF MORAL AUTHORITY TO PROTECT OUR ALLIES ALLOWING US TO
PEACEFULLY SPREAD FREEDOM!
1. RONALD REAGAN (AND MCCAINE) TRAINED OSAMA BIN LADEN AND PUT THE TALIBAN IN POWER WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS. (WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND). DO THE REPUBLICANS DESERVE ALL THE CREDIT FOR THE FALL OF THE USSR AND NONE FOR BRINGING US OSAMA AND 9/11? 2. DADDY BUSH ARMED AND FUNDED SADDAM HUSSEIN WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS WHEN SADDAM WAS GASSING HIS OWN PEOPLE (AS LONG AS SADDAM WAS KILLING HIS NEIGHBORS IN IRAN FOR US WE DIDN'T CARE WHAT ELSE HE WAS DOING BACK THEN WHY NOW)! 3. BABY BUSH INVADES IRAQ WITH THE ORIGINAL PREMISE THEY HAD WMD'S. WE FUNDED AND ARMED IRAQ WHEN THEY WERE USING WMD'S ON THEIR OWN PEOPLE! NOW WITH THE MILITARY SUCCESS OF OUR TROOPS THEY HAVE CALLED THE WAR A SUCCESS WHILE IT HAS KILLED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS AND WEAKENED OUR STANCE WITH IRAN AND THE REST OF THE WORLD! 4. REAGAN, BUSH SR, AND BABY BUSH HAVE ALL BURIED US IN DEBT, SOLD OUT OUR UNION WORKERS, HELPED RICH BUSINESS OWNERS TRANSFER GOOD PAYING JOBS TO ASIA TO AVOID AMERICAN LABOR AND INSURANCE COSTS. (GET UP AND SHOW A DAMN CHART OF THEIR MASSIVE DEFICIT SPENDING COMPARED TO CLINTON AND EVEN CARTER) 5. ATTACK THESE DAMN TAX CUT STATEMENTS WITH THE TRUTH THAT WE NEED TO PAY FOR WHAT WE USE OR CONSUME, SERVICES LIKE AID FOR CHILDREN HAVING CHILDREN WITH NO MEANS OF FINANCIALY SUPPORTING A BABY! NO FREE RIDE!!!!!!! IF WE WANT SERVICES AND INFRASTRUCTURE WE MUST PAY FOR IT NOT OUR GRANDCHILDRENS' GRANDCHILDREN! Sarah Palin and John McCaine ask; how will we be better off if taxes go up? Answer: We will retain ownership of our country instead of selling it to China to pay for our goods and services! Sarah palin says Obama can't lead in a time of crisis. I want a leader who will lead me AWAY FROM CRISIS! Sarah Palin says the Iraq war was Gods will (George Bush was doing Gods work). Do we really want this in the White House again? Thank You, Joel Taylor Omro Wisconsin

am a thirty year old independent t female hat have never voted in
any elections. I found Sarah Palins speech very angry and
disappointing for me (as a woman). She was very sarcastic and
mocked community work. Her speech seems to be aimed at NRA
supporters and was more of a "coach and team" or "commander and
marines" type of setting. IT HAD NO REAL SUBSTANCE.. And the
difference between her speech and Obama, where Obama gives a
positive note, a hope for the future and an inspiration.. Her
speech is more like I DID and DID and DID, and my opponent is ....
Her speech and the chants was not too dissimilar to Jerry Springer
(without the fighting parts).. I think her speech definitely
motivates me to vote for Obama. He can not be worse than the
Republicans.

While no one can deny the delivery of the speeches that have been
rendered at this convention, especially by Governor Palin, no one
can also deny what these republicans are showing to the American
People. Are we all about USA when you insult and bash other fellow
Americans who are working in whatever realm to help our people?
Must we all fight or be a prisoner of war to get the equal respect
deserved from the Republican Party. Should I vote for a party that
continuously belittles their fellow Americans by calling them angry
whiners? These are questions that the American people are asking
themselves. When all of the hatred and sarcasm is done the fact
still remains that our country is at a state where the next
President as some work to do. Our economy is in struggling, people
are losing their homes, our country is dependent on foreign oil,
we're fighting in a war that seems to have no end, our healthcare
system leaves families and children uninsured, and we're running
the largest budget deficit that I've seen in my lifetime. The
Republican Party hasn't revealed any plans to fix any of our
current problems. They've shown the country how to throw punch
lines, how to insult one another, and how to ignore the issues that
have resulted from the past 8 years. I want to hear how the
problems will be fixed and not how much you dislike Obama. As a
first time voter, I can say that I am in definite support of Barack
Obama. He's stated the issues and laid out plans to fix them. If
the Republican Party's idea was to appeal to undecided,
independent, or first time voters at this convention, I can say
with competence: THEY BLEW IT!!!!!!!

Palin...Did you see her face gestures while she was reading the
script?? It showed a very angry probably a short tempered woman
biting her teeth!! McCain and Palin - Two short Tempered
individuals will take down America. Short Tempered people dont
think clearly. She and others have been claiming that she made a
lot of changes in her career, but it has been just 18 months as a
Governor and it normally takes time for something she had
implemented to backfire...which she probably did not expereince yet
to learn out of it.. U select these two..Mark my words ..it will
DICTATORSHIP in America...

I Watched the speech yesterday night. Same old style speech given
by Bush but in a different tone. If McCain and Palin can do so many
things in next 4 years then where were they for last 8 years?
Yesterday i was waiting for her to tell something about the
economy, healthcare, the real problem here in America...But
no....They do not have time for us. Bush, McCain and now
Palin...Their brains are so much occupied with Iraq, Afganistan,
Iran....They do not have time to think about America...So Its
better to stay away from these guys..Other wise they will throw us
in the Toilet.

I thought Sarah Palin made an outstanding speech and I for one can
fully relate to her. I have a 22 year old autistic child and an 18
year old daughter. I have always worked and have been the main
bread winner in our family. In 2000 me and my husband made a
decision for him to go to school full time and quit his job and I
inturn would support the family; including paying his child support
from a previous marriage. We struggled for almost two years until
he graduated with honors from a career college and is now an
instructor for the same school he graduated from for the past five
years. However, during the time he was in school he was the one
that took care of the kids, the house the cooking and was better at
it than I was. I take offence when people question a woman like
Governor Palin about balancing family and work. They seem to have a
very close knit family and I am sure they have made arrangements to
take care of their family issues just like i did and many other
working mothers have done thru out the U.S.

I was born in Alaska--you do not understand that Alaska is a very
big area but very few people.
I would like for Kara Phillips to get up to Fairbanks and take a charter plane up to an Eskimo village up above the Artic Circle and talk to those people and see the deplorable conditions that those people live in. The U.S. had a missile site (abandoned) but would not let those people up there live in it. It was paid for by taxpayer monies--those people live in squaller and are mostly alcoholic. This is a rough and tough place, many more men than women live up there. Alaska is actually awash in money but not all get treated equally. This young woman is NOT qualified to be Vice-President. It is really scarey to think that she could be running our country--sorry, I am not a Palin fan.

September 04, 2008 2 months ago |
It Frightens me to hear that Sarah Palin might be our next V.P. if
Barack Obama is not elected, because no one outside of Alaska knows
Sarah, and what she is capable of. I am an Alaskan and I know. Yes
she has cut spending, but at what cost? She is for the new
pipeline, however she wants to run the line all the way to Canada.
She does not want to stop the line in Valdez like the existing
line. Effectively giving all those jobs to Canada. She is going to
give this Canadian company $500 million to survey and find a way to
get the line to Canada, before they even begin to build it, when
there are other company's that will do it at their cost not at the
cost to the State of Alaska. She said we can buy our Gas from
Canada then. She said that Canada can deal with the impurities, not
us. There are 7 minerals- 4 liquid, and 3 gas, all of which have
value. When she was campaigning I asked her 4 questions, the same 4
I asked all the others.
Question 1= How will you bring more jobs, or create more jobs in Alaska? She said the she would upgrade the state to find more, and she would help the fishing industries as that is our largest industry. Many fishermen are no longer fishing, they say they can not afford to fish anymore, too many cutbacks. This was before fuel cost went up. And we have less State jobs available. Question #. 2= The Alaska Marine Highway is our freeway, the only way for many of us to get from point A to point B. So, Is the State going to cut back on AMH runs? She said NO! She can see now that she has ventured out of the Wasilla, Anchorage area just how much we depend on it. She cut the Alaska Marine Highway travel almost in half. A loss of many jobs, and effectively isolating many smaller cities, or villages with the only way out is by barge. Many of our cities are landlocked by water, glaciers, or terrain that is completely impassable. Question # 3= I asked how she felt about raising the tax on Cruise Ship Visitors? She said yes we need the tax money to pay for the infrastructure they are using. She did just that. The only one she kept her word on. Question # 4= The so called Bridge-To-Nowhere. We need it to get to the other islands so the city could grow, as there is no where left on this island. She said she understood, and was for it and that the city needs to grow and she will see what she could do as soon as she is Governor. Cutting bridge fund was the first thing she cut almost as soon as she was elected. She said we could just use the ferry system that is in place. I don't know about you but I don't want to pay $20.00 A DAY, every day just to go to work and back, on top of fuel cost. ( Hey maybe we could just force the local Natives off their land so we could build there). We have lost 84,710 jobs since Sarah became Governor. This in a state of only 670,000 people, that's 12.64% job loss. Compare this as if it were in Los Angeles County with a population of 9,948,081 at 12.64% that would translate to a loss of 1,257,737 jobs, how would they fare? How would they feel? What would they do? What will she do as Vice President, or heaven forbid if she had to take over as President? We don't have enough jobs now! She has turned on a dime as soon as she made Governor. She Lied to many of us. Sarah does what Sarah wants to do, and it does not matter what anyone else thinks.

I live in rural Alaska and I wish the reporters and the residents
of the other 48 states would "bone up" on Alaska before they start
giving their comments. Last night a resident of some lower forty
eight state said that Sarah Palin is not in touch with "normal
people" and that although Alaska is a part of the United States,
they do not have poverty or problems. Excuse me, but I don't know
of any other communities in the US that are paying ten dollars a
gallon for gas and heating fuel, eight dollars a gallon for milk
(if it is even available)or over six dollars for a brick of cheese.
Are there community residents purchasing three hundred dollars
worth of groceries or supplies and then spending another three
hundred dollars to ship them home? Are there other community
residents confined to their community because there are no roads
out and the cost just to get to the nearest city is at least $450
dollars per person? Alaska has residents still peeing in a bucket
and packing water. Alaska has extremely high alcohol, drug and teen
pregnancy issues. Alaska has huge unemployment numbers in the rural
areas and very low incomes. Fishermen that work around the clock to
catch salmon get paid 68 cents a pound for fish that the lower
forty residents pay over five dollars a pound for.....please don't
say that Alaska does not know about poverty or problems. This is
the perfect time for the US as a whole to educate themselves on
Alaska so they can speak intelligently on the the many subjects
coming up during this election.

This entire Republican Convention is a freak show. All the speakers
were full of mockery, smugness, and just plain old idiocracy..let
me just say..I dont have any nice words to describe what we have
faced the last eight years. I am still trying to understand why our
president acts the way he does. Many people have described it as
ignorant. The country is in trouble from one end of the spectrum to
the other and no one in the RNC has addressed the real issues. You
heard nothing but personal attacks on Obama/Biden that only shows
what education and money does to some folks..it makes the act
stupid and look stupid. I heard nothing beneficial to getting the
the word deficit transformed into SURPLUS for the country. If we
are not careful, we will become third world to china and many other
countries. The Palin issue is another bone. Just because she is a
woman does not mean she is the best and that the Republicans have
the right idea. Her being chosen was a "cheap shot" that I felt is
an insult. I am PRO-WOMAN all the way but I am not foolish enough
to fall for the mind games. McCain is hoping the Hillary women
supporters that may be uspset that she was not chosen as the
Democratic VP nomimee will vote republican because he chose a
"woman". I pray to God that the women who are truly Hillary
Supporters see through that.I hope they followed her in the
beginning for the right reasons; what she believed in, what she
stood for, not follow her because she is a woman. I am not
impressed with the Sarah Palin idea. She may be strong and
confident, so am I, but that dont make me the best choice. It's not
her time. When I look at the RNC on CNN, I often think...if that is
the best(McCain/Palin)the Republican can do. We are on the horizon
to destruction. I think Mrs. Palin needs to get real. What mother
on God's green earth would want their child to go to a place where
war was unnecessary from the beginning. Her son is scared as you
know what to have to go. Why wouldnt he be? I have family that are
high ranking in the military, have done this for years, and each
time they have to deploy, it is not a joyous occasion. Bush created
this mess. And now it needs to be cleaned up. I have seen his
kind....hold a job but dont do any work. Go figure. God help us
all.

Twenty-five years ago I left America and started a new life in
Europe. Living abroad and growing older have shown me many things;
one of the more important being that Americans profoundly believe
that they are the only successful people on earth. This shameful
attitude of superiority is personified by the woman anointed by
Mrs. and Senator McCain to be the GOP VP candidate. Her speech was
crass, combative and arrogant. Her narrow mindedness was painfully
apparent from the words she spat forth, each one void of any warmth
or humility.
You have - once again - a real choice between candidates (the true blessing of democracy). Let's hope the winner actually wins this time around and that you put an end to these years of insanity. As for modesty, well...

My husband and I are Democrats of long standing, however, we can no
longer sit back and pretend to approve of and vote for the liberal,
bigger government, politics as usual that they stand for. Obama is
not qualified to do anything that I can see, I doubt he even wrote
the two memoirs himself, although the one thing he seems to excel
at is talking himself up. His wife makes me cringe, has from the
first time I heard her and she said something to the effect that
his nomination was the first time she had ever been proud to be an
American as an adult. This and other statements she has made have
left me cold and angry, especially since she has availed herself of
a fine, Ivy League education. And why doesn't Obama ever put his
hand over his heart when the rest of the country is doing so when
Pledging Alligance? Top it off with him sitting front and center at
Rev. Wright's church for twenty years and I have my doubts as to
whether he even likes this country.
As for Sarah Palin and her speech last night I don't see how anyone could possibly not love her. She is exactly what this country needs. John McCain, a true American hero and a Patriot without doubt, will make just the right kind of President. He knows the horror of war, he will know what to do in the world to protect our country. His choice of Governor Palin as his running mate is brilliant and I would rather imagine that my husband and myself are not the only Democrats who will be voting Republican. We are actually taking it a step further and changing our affiliation to Republican. I cannot remain a Democrat solely because of the Clintons, actually because of Bill Clinton. Hillary has turned out to be a huge disappointment, her speeches once wonderful and inspiring began to sound desparate and then became so politics as usual that she simply turned us off. It was like she moved from Arkansas to New York and forgot suddenly where her roots are. Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air who is not afraid to stand up to the good old boy system and she and John McCain together can change things for the good. Should she have to step into his shoes for whatever reason she is more than qualified, much more qualified than Obama. We stayed up last night to hear Gov. Palin and were so excited at the prospect of having someone of her caliber as V.P. We were already sold on John McCain, all she did was reassure us that we were right in our decision to vote Republican.

I would like to state that Sarah Palin's speech was well written
and delivered. What I would like to point out is that it should be
considering she is a communication/journalism major. If someone
majors in a certain area than I would hope they could deliver what
they were educated on. I want to hear what she can do and not how
well she learned how to write and deliver a speech.

Democrats want to Socialize this country. Those of us who work for
a living don't want to support those who won't work. Obama in the
White House? Why do you think blacks love him? Oh, they say it's
not because he's black. Yea, right.I have heard ONE black say he is
not voting for Obama and he is a businessman. If you watched the
Dem convention, you saw the head of the NAACP shout to a black
woman reporter, "It's our time, baby! It's our time!" If he didn't
mean the blacks, I'll eat this computer. This race won't come down
to Sarah Palin or the women's vote. It will come down to black
voters vs white voters.

Sarah Palin only proved last night that she can read a
teleprompter. How sad--she came across as angry and bitter and
feeling superior and smug--not as a qualified person to be on the
Republican ticket. She clearly is not qualified--even if she served
on the local PTA--so she accepted the role of being John McCain's
puppet or attack dog. Forget the barracuda description (which is
really a figment of her own imagination, says girls who played on
the same basketball team)--she came across as a bitch or dog in
heat. Apparently she believes that you can make yourself look more
important by ripping others down. Where did the GOP get the figures
that she has 80% voter approval?--last week's poll showed 85% of
the Alaskans polled said they did not trust Palin. What about her
comment about doing away with the driver and cook at the Governor's
Mansion--fact is that she refused to move to Juneau--her family was
more comfortable living in Wasilla and she refused to make the move
to the Capitol. What about the Bridge to Nowhere--she supported it
and then refused to put the money into its funding. What about
McCain's campaign against pork barrel/earmarks? She is known as the
Queen of Earmarks--she even hired a lobbyist because she requested
so many earmarks. While she has been Governor, no state has come
even near to the number of earmarks she has lobbied for. How about
Troopergate--she denied these allegations and then the guy who was
fired has recorded calls from her and her family insisting that the
ex-brother-in-law be fired. How about getting rid of all the
corruption in Alaska politics--she was a part of it until the House
came Tumbling Down--and then she acted innocent and claimed not to
know about the dishonesty or corruption of her former friends.
Let's see how she has done on improving the economy and employment
in Alaska--12.64% job loss for the less than two years she has been
Governor. Let's look at her views on the war--oh yeah, she said she
is so busy with her family and being Governor that she has no time
to become more knowledgeable about the war. Anyway, in her opinion,
the War is a directive to the United States from God. And she sees
no need for sex education in the public schools--how is that
working for you, Sarah? Isn't it funny how Palin and McCain have
all the solutions for the problems that President Bush has caused
for the past eight years???? Wouldn't you think that if they are so
smart, the two would have shared some of their vast knowledge so
our Country's employment figures and economy and health care system
wouldn't be in such a mess. Oh--I forgot--these two just don't get
it--and don't feel that these are concerns of the American people
and they feel it is easier to rip their opponents apart rather than
come up with solutions.

The media and this country is talking as if Mrs. Palin is the one
running for President. A woman commented on CNN that she is voting
for Mrs. Palin. Mrs. Palin is a great public speaker and has very
agreeable views for our country. Her influence would be very
helpful but Senator McCain is the one running for President and we
need to remember that when election day comes.

After watching VP nominee Sarah Palin's speech last night, I
realize that she is not aware of the many serious affairs that
America faces. In a laughing and unprofessional manner she told
America what her true intentions of change were, nothing. Overall
it seems that the Republican party commends her for not fulfilling
given expectations of state Govenor. She clearly used her position
to terminate the commisioner. She did not consider the medical
circumstances with giving birth after the age of thirty five. Also,
she was not physically present 'enough' in her household to openly
discuss the negative aspects of having a child at a young age and
unwed. The Republican party have made my decision to vote for the
Demoncratic very easy. I do not want to endure four more years of
the same government tactics with the 'should-be' retired McCain and
the comedic comments of Palin. Thanks for listening, JFK.

So, Sarah, I also am a mother of five children. I have the utmost
sympathy and respect for a hard working mother who can keep her
family functioning and loving while also working for a paycheck.
The real lack of experience for Michelle and Barack is that they
have not yet lived through parenting teens and emerged smiling.
Babies make you tired and happy and toddlers will cutely wear you
out. Teenagers will exhaust you emotionally and leave your still
beating heart, fleshy and raw, pounding outside of your limp body.
They will do this every weekend if they are normal. In a small
town, yes I have been there too, other parents will be happy to
inform you of any escapades your teen was involved in that you
might have missed. I am from Mid-Missouri and am older than you, so
I was a soccer Mom instead of a Hockey Mom. I spent my days in the
PTA and on soccer and baseball fields. Nevertheless, I love that
you can field dress a moose. I am more impressed that, more than
once, you probably dressed yourself in the early morning hours to
pick up your child. So Sarah, you have the credentials in my book.
What I find the most offensive is that you are 44, had your fifth
baby four months ago, and can wear high heels and can still see
your feet in them. My fifth is 20 and I haven't seen my shoes for
over a decade when I am standing, but I can tell you they are not
heels. So, Sarah, great job on being physically fit.
Along with the heels, things that I cannot imagine are a son going to Iraq, a daughter who is pregnant and a child with special needs. So, Sarah, I take my hat and shoes off to you. My boys have chosen not to serve in the military and I respect both camps here. My sleep will be easier because they will not be in a camp. So Sarah, I salute you and your son for courage. The only reason my children did not become pregnant is that I have five sons. This does not mean they were not having sex, just not getting caught and thrown in the spotlight. The double standard is a true and sore subject. I was also an older mother, however 38 sounds young to your 44. I remember the cautions and risks and believe we also would have loved and cherished any child. I was luckier than you. Your son is luckier than most to have been born to a baby toting, spit smoothing formidable family were he will be forever loved. So, Sarah, I am impressed. You have made difficult choices many times in the past and are willing to throw yourself out there and continue to make the calls. Whether or not you are elected your choices and hard decisions will not fade away. If elected many of those choices will be harder and involve more people, many more than just your family. So, Sarah, I respect you, I would never second guess your choices. We have made many of the same decisions as women and mothers. Please respect my choice to trust the public schools, to allow them to teach my children science and then use that science to cure our children. Please respect my choice to trust my children to read everything and anything written and then trust them to make their own choices. Please respect the choice of all women who follow their hearts and minds and do what they feel is best for their family. So Sarah, good luck this year and next, I respect and applaud your choices in life, please allow us ours. Lynn McIntosh Columbia, Mo

I was not surprised at how Sarah Palin presented herself to the
country, in such a confident and well spoken way.
She is a great Gov of Alaska and we love her here. But with that said, SHE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO BE A HEART BEAT AWAY FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL SEAT! Last night she chose to fill her speech (written by a republican speech writer) with jokes and snide remarks, instead of what we (the country) were waiting for. She didn't mention one thing about our issues, she focused on making herself the "celebrity" that we never wanted in her. I personally feel she is no more than a "PUPPET", FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY! "BARACK stated during the DNC that "it's not about me it's about you"!!! But unfortunately for Sarah I think she has decided to join the "Good Ole Boys" way of thinking and she's here to toot her own horn for her own benefit, not the benefit of OUR COUNTRY, ALASKA OR MOST OF ALL HER FAMILY. I say come back to Alaska Sarah; let the GOOD OLE BOYS IN WASHINGTON MAKE THEIR MISTAKES WITHOUT YOU! QUESTION: "WHATS SO GREAT ABOUT BEING, THE "SECOND" DOG ON THE HARNESS OF THE SLED, WHEN YOU CAN AND HAVE BEEN "OUR" LEAD DOG!!!! GOD HELP OUR COUNTRY IF WE HAVE 4 MORE YEARS OF REPUBLICANS IN THE WHITE HOUSE.... SINCERELY, DEZARI FRANK-TAYLOR ANCHORAGE ALASKA 20 YEARS!

AN E-MAIL FROM GOV. SARAH PALIN's CLASSMATE
FYI: This is a letter sent to me by a friend who attended college with Sarah Palin and also lives in Alaska. Subject: From a former classmate of Sarah Palin who lives in Alaska For those of us who have been stunned by McCain's VP pick, it seems to fit his cultivation of the idea of "maverick" over thoughtfulness, of political strategy over the good of the country. We know so little about her. And apparently, he doesn't know that much either, but it is a reflection about his process in coming to this "judgment." She's connected through the oil lobby for sure. The letter below is from Jackie who went to college with Sarah Palin and also lives in Alaska. D See below. Jackie is a classmate of mine from Bryn Mawr. Subject: John McCain's VP nominee Dear classmates - As an Alaskan, I am writing to give all of you some information on Sarah Palin, Senator McCain's choice for VP. As an Alaska voter, I know more than most of you about her and, frankly, I am horrified that h e picked her. The most accurate description of her is red neck. Her husband works in the oil fields of Prudhoe Bay and races snow mobiles. She is a life time member of the NRA and has worked tirelessly to allow indiscriminate hunting of wildlife in Alaska, particularly wolves and bears. She has spent millions of Alaska state dollars on aerial hunting of these predators from helicopters and airplanes, dollars that should have been spent, for example, on Alaska's failing school system. We have the lowest rate of high school graduation in the country. Not all of you may think aerial predator hunting is so bad, but how anyone (other than Alaska wolf-haters, of which there are many, most without teeth), could think this use of funds is appropriate is beyond me. If you want to know more about the aerial hunting travesty, let me know and I will send some links to informative web sites. She has been a strong supporter of increased use of fossil fuels, yet the McCain campaign has the nerve to say she has "green" policies. The only thing green about Sarah Palin is her lack of experience. She has consistently supported drilling in ANWR, use of coal-burning power plants (as I write this, a new coal plant is being built in her home town of Wasilla), strip mining, and almost anything else that will unnecessarily exploit the diminishing resources of Alaska and destroy its environment. Prior to her one year as governor of Alaska, she was mayor of Wasilla, a small red neck town outside Anchorage. The average maximum education level of parents of junior high school kids in Wasilla is 10th grade. Unfortunately, I have to go to Wasilla every week to get groceries and other supplies, so I have continual contact with the people who put Palin in office in the first place. I know what I'm talking about. These people don't have a concept of the world around them or of the serious issues facing th e US. Furthermore, they don't care. So long as they can go out and hunt their moose every fall, kill wolves and bears and drive their snow mobiles and ATVs through every corner of the wilderness, they're happy. I wish I were exaggerating. Sarah Palin is currently involved in a political corruption scandal. She fired an individual in law enforcement here because she didn't like how he treated one of her relatives during a divorce. The man's performance and ability weren't considered; it was a totally personal firing and is currently under investigation. While the issue isn't close to the scandal of Ted Steven's corruption, it shows that Palin isn't "squeaky clean" and causes me to think there may be more issues that could come to light. Clearly McCain doesn't care. When you line Palin up with Biden, the comparison would be laughable if it weren't so serious. Sarah Palin knows nothing of economics (admittedly a weak area for McCain), or of international affairs, knows nothing of national government, Social Security, unemployment, health care systems - you name it. The idea of her meeting with heads of foreign governments around the world truly frightens me. In an increasingly dangerous world, with the economy in shambles in the US, Sarah Palin is uniquely UNqualified to be vice president. John McCain is not a young man. Should something happen to him such that the vice president had to step in, it would destroy our country and possibly the world to have someone as inexperienced and inappropriate as Sarah Palin. The choice of Palin is a cheap shot by McCain to try to get Hillary supporters to vote for him. when McCain introduced her today, Palin had the nerve to compare herself with Hillary and Geraldine Ferraro. Sarah Palin, you are no Hillary Clinton. To those of you who, like me, supported Hilary and were upset that she did not get the nomination, please don't think that Sarah Palin is a worthy substitute. If you supported Hillary, regardless of what you think the media and the democratic party may have done to undermine her campaign, the person to support now is Obama, not Sarah Palin. To those of you who are independent or undecided, don't let the choice of Palin sway you in favor of McCain. Choosing her shows how unqualified McCain is to be president. To those of you who are conservative, I guess you have no choice for president. But please try to see how the poor choice of Palin tells us a great deal about McCain's judgment. While the political posturing inherent in the choice of Palin is obvious, the more serious issue is the fact that the VP is, literally, a heartbeat away from the presidency. Sarah Palin is totally and unequivocally unqualified to be vice president, let alone president. I know this is a lengthy and emotional email, but the stakes are high. I thought it might help for all of you, regardless of political affiliation, to know something about Palin from someone who has to live with her administration in Alaska on a daily basis. So what Obama is a Black man. Society gets caught up on color. The
white man has for decades been in a position of power. That does
not make "white" supreme. So what some say they will vote for Obama
because he is black. Where are the comments that question why white
folks vote for white. YOu best believe a great percentage of those
"white people" voting for McCain are voting for him because he is
white. This should not be a color issue. The current administration
has put this country in a bad position. The republican party will
only support the havoc that is already there.

This new "proposed" administration that professes "Country First"
by the republicans would clearly be another eight years of the same
rhetoric. It has been obvious for years that there is no love loss
between Bush and Cheney; and is it just me, but Palin and McCain
don't seem to really like each other. They could not even look at
each other at the end of her "blasphomous" speech. She also says
that she has known McCain for years, but they just met for the
first time in February. Their body language tells me that not only
do they not really know one another, but like Bush and Cheney,
probably don't even like one another. Do we really need another
team like this in the white house?

I have been laughing on & on about the fact that Palin was the
mayor of Wasilla and uses it as if that is important work to become
president (which is what could happen). I worked there for years.
Its tiny- with just a few buildings and at the time had a blinking
yellow light with one main road and the rest gravel roads. Wasilla
is great in a relaxation kind of way...but to be enough experience
to include as important experience to be a possible president or VP
is hilarious. Being a hockey mom is also great, but I want somebody
that is able to face down Putin with knowlege. This is the dumbing
down of America. Hillary could do it -not just with speeches
written by someone else but with insight and knowlege. Obama has
spent alot of thoughful time on many subjects. You're no dummy to
attend Harvard, This actually is getting scarier to think people
can be so easily sucked in on superficial traits as what I see in
Palin. I could do what she has done so far. Do we want to chance
her becoming the president? Wake up people.

Important Information about Sarah Palin:
I think everyone should read the below letter on John McCain's VP choice, it's long but worth reading. As an Alaskan, I am writing to give all of you some information on Sarah Palin, Senator McCain's choice for VP. As an Alaska voter, I know more than most of you about her and, frankly, I am horrified that he picked her. I have long admired McCain and was strongly leaning toward him.
Sarah Palin as VP cost him my vote. I cannot in good consience vote
for another politician who believes faith is a way of knowing about
the natural world and who does not understand the difference
between faith and science. Creationism is NOT a viable science
theory as it affords no testable hypotheses. Belief that global
warming has no man-made components because she wishes that were the
case is not compatible with the leadership this nation needs to
remain a vaiible economic power.
The challenges we will face in the next four years are one thing. The potential damage another anti-rational politician in a powerful position might inflict vis-a-vis national science and education policy is another. I would rather face the short-term damage I fear Obama might inflict than the longer term damage that might come from McCain's kowtowing to the advocates of faith over reason in the this world.

I thought Sarah Palin, in an attempt to get people to realize she
is a strong woman (which I do believe she is), went about it in the
wrong way. I thought her comments were too catty, snide and very
cycnical. And if I were a community organizer, I would be FURIOUS
with her. Talk about putting someone down!

I hope that the Americans who can see through McCain's tactic to
sway women voters will pass the word and talk to as many people as
possible. I am a woman and I feel very insulted that he picked this
woman as a "fool tool". She is being used to buy votes. McCain's
chances of having known her "for years" as they say are about as
likely that he having seen the face of Jesus..in Rudy Guiliana's
words.."NOTHING, NADA", but I'm saying "NOT". Let's keep passing
the word that this is a cheap scheme that should insult every woman
in America. We are not pawns for a vote. It was sicken to watch
that side-show. I am glad that circus is over. All broadcasts
wasted time airing that "convention of mass destruction". Bush was
determined to find WMD's in Irag..Well Baby Bush, dont look much
further. All those speeches and attacks coming from your party were
your WMD's. I am honored to be a Democratic supporter. While
listening to the "CMD", all I could think was, listen to these
maniacs, just a bunch of morans. Just one more thing--I am curious
to know what kind of mother would allow her 17 year old daughter,
who is, I assume still in high school, pregnant or not, to sit
holding hands with her boyfriend and claiming to be engaged. That
is absurd. She is still a kid who is being supported by her parents
and so will this baby. It looked ridiculous to see them sitting
there holding hands like they are married. Who are they fooling?
That boy looked about as happy as a pig on the way to the slaughter
house.

MedicineGirl:
You might take a bit of advice from your founding father Thomas Jefferson. "The care of human life and happiness and not their destruction is the first and only legitimate object of good government". You whine about liberals taking care of society and that "it's not your job" but as per our founding fathers, it is just that YOUR JOB as an American. It is one of your duties.

Just my take but I have a really hard time believing that a woman
in labor, jumps on a plane from Texas to Alaska with an average
flight time of 17 hours, then makes a 50 mile drive just to
delivery a baby. Call me a pessimist but I don't buy it. If it
walks like a duck and quacks like a duck --- it's a duck.
Also --- why has she not jumped all over a DNA test to prove paternity.

By Keith Epstein
Sarah Palin has taken some minor heat in the blogosphere for failing to report some of her business interests on Alaska financial disclosure forms while in government - for instance, a 40% total stake with husband Todd in an Anchorage car wash and the founding of a marketing firm named Rouge Cou (French for "red neck"). But on other matters she appears to have meticulous in reporting anything someone might imagine having even the faintest whiff of a conflict of interest. To wit, this, exactly as it appears on the 13th page of Palin's 2007 disclosure form, filed in March 2008 while governor: No word on who was driving. Both mothers were probably too busy for carpools. Wendy Chamberlain is registered with the state as a lobbyist for numerous interests, from Anheuser-Busch and Marathan Oil to state associations of the cruise ship, real estate, and car dealers' industries, as well as the cities of Nome and Anchorage. Palin also lists son Track's $8.50 hourly job at a snowboarding shop.

No disrespect to Alaska but the fact that Palin claims she has all
this Foriegn relations because she was Commander in Chief of the
National Gaurd, and also Cindy McCain saying that since Alaska is
close to Russia counts also, is rediculous. I have lost a lot of
respect for her over the past few days on the way she has done
nothing but attack Senator Obama, but when legitimate questions are
asked about her, the sexism card is pulled out so quickly. Even
though most of this is coming from the McCain camp and not herself,
if your willing to dish out punches you better be ready to accept a
couple yourself. I don't know what she expected was going to happen
when she became the nominee for V.P.
If she has enough confidence to go after Obama for his lack of experience, she better be able to go answer questions about hers. Also, this whole thing about attacking Obama because he was a Comminity Activist is just another fact showing that they really don't care about the average American. I like how they say how biased the media is so they cancel their interviews with CNN and go to the MOST BIASED network, Fox News. Fox News has the audacity to say the media is biased right after Sean Hannity has a week long special on how Senator Obama is a secret muslim who wants to destroy America, and how a fist bump is a terrorist action. The Republicans are nothing but hypocrites, they say one thing do another. During their Convention it seemed like they were trying to get people to forget that Bush is a Republican, who most of them agreed with until it became unpopular, and that we need them to swoop into Washington and clean it up, when in actuality they are the ones to blame for the mess.
