iReport.com honored at Knight-Batten Awards »

Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back!

iReport.com received an Honorable Mention at the 2008 Knight-Batten Awards for Innovations in Journalism. That means your incredible contributions on this site were recognized by some of the top media minds in the country.

A special thanks to the Knight Foundation and J-Lab for including iReport.com in this year's impressive list of honorees.

Congratulations to this year's Grand Prize winner, Wired.com's WikiScanner coverage, which helped readers investigate and expose ego-editing and corporate whitewashing of Wikipedia entries.

And be sure to check out the other finalists and honorable mentions -- all incredible examples of innovative online journalism.

It seems lipstick will no longer hide the sore maybe we need some obalma balm or let McCain pick the Americas scabs USA=USB
You know I live in a world where there's a thing called the past and another called the future although it's fascinating to watch CNN struggle to maintain a naiveté of the past while sliding merrily down McCain's greasy slope towards fox news land In the end whether its bush's 911 or bush's WMD's CNN fails to remind us of recent history within any news context so I ask for the history please. I'm not a conspiracy theorist bin laden was responsible for 911 I detest fox news but I do remember yesterday maybe CNN should do the same. I complain because I care. I hate to be negative BUT! The pay peanuts get monkeys theory is surly debunked it seems a less catchy phrase is more appropriate "you pay monkeys and get pre chewed peanuts" I never brought a ticket for the zoo but here I am. My last point is the fact CNN rejects many emails based your countries IP address scurrilous maybe Prudent yes. Fair no but it's hard to be serious when your blog is next to porn advertisements sharpen up CNN.
