I just watched Bay misquote Michelle Obama, as most republicans do on this issue. What Michelle said was "for the first time in my adult life, I am REALLY proud of my country..." Leaving out "really", which Bay did, makes this a different sentence. When John McCain was recounting his time as a POW, during CNN's McCain Revealed, he made the statement "it was then that I fell in love with my country." According to their logic this mean that until then he didn't love his country? I wish someone would call them on this.

I love how the news is now reversing the whole thing with Mccain catching up come on yesturday he was trailing Obama with this joe the plumber comment hes back on top please thats bull. 3. About the Dem Party. Do you support a ban on Partial Birth Abortions? This is not regular abortions, but the ones where the stick a needle into the brain of a child just before the normally scheduled birth and suck out the brain to make sure it is dead? Bush got that banned, which is so obviously should be. Obama has said, see Youtube, that he wants to repeal that ban. I am for abortion, but that is inhuman.

4. Obama has the support of the Hollywood elite. McCain has the support of the ranking Cardinals in the Catholic Church.

5. Obama wants to repeal the Bush tax cuts. I know that because it was the Bush tax cuts, you have been told that it was bad, but many millions of low-imcome Americans were taken off the tax-paying rolls because of those tax cuts. When Obama repeals that, you will go back on the tax rolls, and that level is very very far below the 250k per year they discuss. It is closer to 35k per year.

6. At what point is wealth redistribution ok? Is it ok to condem a person for working himself to death to earn a great living and to leave something for his kids? Is it ok to take more of that person's money and give it to people who don't earn it? As Biden said, "It is the patriotic thing to do."

7. Obama is an unknown. His father was a member of the government in Kenya. The Communist government of Kenya. He was released from his government job for advocating taking 100% of the income from workers in Kenya. It was a very unpopular idea, even in a Communist country. Wow - is that far enough for the Dems? Or do they want our blood too? What is enough?

I am wondering whatever happened to the issue on the economy? We are in a sad state BECAUSE of Bush, and the whole 8 years he has been in office. I am very glad that I was not faced with the choice of voting for him. I will vote now though, and it's not going to be for McCain. Yes- I do feel comfortable with a FRESH START!! MOST DEFINATLY!!! I don't feel I really want to see Mcain and Palin run another smear campaign in 2012. In the 33 years of my excistance I have never seen anything as dirty as this. It is insane! My son has a shirt that says: I have Issues. Maybe that should be the slogan 4 McCain and Palins campaign.

I have been to Mccain as well as an obama rally. To me personally I feel Mccain's rally or shall i say Palin's rallies are nothing more than a kkk rally. I am a mixed (black and white) female who is in college. I felt so uncomfortable at Mccain's and Palin's rally so i left half way through. There rallies reminded me of the 1930s and 40s rallies of the kkk that i have read about. Palin and Mccain have rallies to bad mouth Obama instead of focusing on our needs. I also feel alot of college students are going for obama because Mccain is focused on veterans and retirees (his age group) we are the future remember. At first in the begining i was going for Mccain but when he became childish and focused on Obama and not our situation i knew he was another Bush. I am appalled at the actions of a few HOWEVER I blame the media for promoting the problems and prejudices attributed to this election...especially mainstream media who are so obviously pro-Obama. For once I would like to see CNN show both sides ... you show all the anti-Obama dreadful stuff but what about all the dirty, filthy things happening to Sarah Palin...like the shirts with degrading remarks directed at her, the people who even on television say they hate the lady, even Tina Fey saying she would leave Earth, etc. etc. Don't go just one sided because Obama is black...try covering the sexist repulsive actions of those who target Palin or the age insults to McCain. What you have shown only promotes the actions and causes more hatred and anger. The media is not helping the racial tensions at all. We expect more from you!

To JC0568..good post and documented information. To Sierramarie...you should listen to your parents obviously they have been around long enough to know what is right for the country. The problem with the younger generation is that you don't research the candidate but rather listen to the slick talk and lame promises that can't be kept. Have you even asked yourself what this man who wants to be President has DONE to make him a good candidate. Have you looked at his record in the Senate? I think not. If you had looked you would have noted that he voted a "no vote" (present) on most all those bills that did not benefit either himself, his party or his contingents. He never crossed party lines..never once. He will go into the Presidency with a majority Congress meaning there will be no checks and balances so anything that the Democrats want (and they are already looking to mess with your 401K...read the news on that one and see how happy you are with the Democratic suggestion...and know that it would pass with Obama in the Presidency). Obama wasn't even present in the Senate for more than a 150 days. He was a co-chair of a committee that he never made meetings of. He hasn't run anything to get any type of experience in how to manage subordinates, balance a budget, handle difficult situations. He has masterly connived his way into this position by the old school Democrats who are desperate to get THEIR choice in the White House...one they can manipulate...they couldn't with Hillary. Either way all I ask is that you research this stuff, stop listening to the mainstream media, the slick orator and the lies in ads and in speeches (some on both sides). When Barack said he didn't know of Ayers connections to the bombing he did back in the 60's..that is impossible. In law school you study Criminal and Constitutional law...and both of them use the Ayers groups as examples and basis of both. Did you not study this era in college? He is looking to make sure you get money to get insurance and not be forced into getting a policy that you can't afford. If businesses are having to "play or pay" a part of the Obama health plan they will cut jobs to cover costs. He isn't looking at only the veterans and elderly at all...he is looking at the future of the country...energy supplies for the future...much more. Please ... you seem like a smart lady....don't judge who your President will be based on the small majority who show up at a rally...do the research. Ask yourself...what has Obama done? Name 3 things. If he gets in and there is already a Democratic Congress who will stop them from doing what Democrats ALWAYS do..tax us. Look at the 401K proposal the Dems are submitting and even staying later to work on..that will affect you. RESEARCH RESEARCH...find out these things for yourself. It scares me to think of what process of elimination did the Republican Party go through to settle on Sarah Palin? It insults me on 2 levels the first being that I'm supposed to find some solidarity in the fact that she is a woman in the position that she's in no matter how UNQUALIFIED she is and give her my vote and the second being that as an African American I can't possibly have enough intellegence to listen to each candidate weigh the pros and cons and decide for myself who will better serve ME as a United States President. I recently found myself thinking.....yes Obama is of mixed races I wonder if he was one whose pigmetation was more on the fair side say more like a Derek Jeter a Jason Kidd or 1929's cheif executive of the NAACP Walter White who could have passed for white but chose not to, who was as fair in skin as John McCain. One has to ask themselves 4 years ago when the U.S was pushing and would have been more receptive of fair skinned Gen. Colin Powell what's the difference between him and Mr. Obama both are considered 'black' by white society the only differnece I can see is not based on the content of one's character or their ablilty to lead this nation, its the racists society thats still alive and well that can not and will not adjust to having a darker skinned black man in a position of power over them plain and simple!

It is a shame and disgrace that people are voting racially and with their heads in the sand about Obama. The media is so slanted. I do not care for McCain either but there is only McCain bashing and ignorance. People really need to pull their head out. Do they REALLY think that someone with zero experience and an ELITIST attitude will ultimately treat people fairly? Most politicians have an elitist attitude. He is a very eloquent speaker and could sell you the Golden Gate Bridge.
Also, if you are not going to vote for him, then you are automatically labeled a racist. How ignorant is that?! How can i be racist if I am African American and do not agree with Obama? I do not know were some of you live but if you would notice, the Democratic party has not been the friend to the black man. Rev Al Sharpton has recently been quoted as saying that. As we all know, Sen. Obama is showing a 6-10 point lead in most polls. After careful consideration, reasoning and exploring in detail the make up of the Electoral College, I have come to the decision that Sen. Obama will not win the presidency. I am on a limb here. Most pundits and the popular opinion is that Sen. Obama will win, so I am on a limb here. Here is my logic...

President Bush has the lowest approval rating of any President since Nixon during Watergate. In fact, Pres. Bush's approval rating is lower than Nixon's right before he resigned. Prior to the financial crisis, Sen. Obama enjoyed a 5-6 point lead following his convention. This lead was evaporated immediately after the Republican convention and the announcement of Sarah Palin. A few weeks later, Wall Street crashed and polls showed Sen. Obama with a 6-10 point lead, which he is still enjoying in most reputable polls.

Follow me here...

After eight years of Bush and considering how hugely unpopular Bush is, this was the year for a Democrat to walk-into the White House. However, prior to the Democratic Convention, Sen. Obama's lead in polls hovered around 3-4 points (within margin of error) basically a statistical dead tie with Sen. McCain. After the Republican Convention and Sarah Palin, that lead disappeared, in fact, McCain/Palin started to lead in the polls by 3-5 percentage points. Again, virtually a dead heat. So, even with the hatred of Pres. Bush and the "Republicans" Sen. Obama never really enjoyed a considerable lead in the polls. The 5-10 point advantage that he is enjoying now is a direct result of "in the moment politics." Say you had a very bad experience with McDonald's earlier in the day and when you got home you got a survey call about McDonald's. Obviously, your opinions will not be favorable in that moment.

Remember, President Clinton's war room slogan in 1992. Yeah, it's the economy stupid. MONEY TALKS. After watching 401K portfolios and investment portfolios evaporate on Wall Street people are naturally angry and have every right to be so. They may not be right, but anger is not up for debate. When people are angry we want to punish or get back at someone or some organization. I am suggesting to you that the significant lead Sen. Obama is enjoying over the past 2 weeks is a direct result of people being surveyed during the middle of a economic/money meltdown. Who would not want change after losing thousands of dollars in days? Who do you get angry at or want to punish during bad economic times? Most voters blame and want to punish the incumbent president, whether Democrat or Republican. I have come to the conclusion that this is exactly what is going on now. People are saying they will vote for Sen. Obama when called by pollsters because they are freshly angry. Also, remember New Hampshire during the Democratic Primaries? The night before the election, these same polls showed Sen. Obama leading by double digits. Hillary won New Hampshire. People can say whatever they want about who they are voting for, then vote for the opposite candidate when in the privacy of the voting booth. It is almost illegal to say you are voting for McCain in certain cities, neighborhood's or sociopolitical settings because Pres. Bush is so unpopular right now. Blacks feel they must say the are voting for Sen. Obama, even though they may not agree with his policies...say on abortion or marriage to name two. Whites feel they must say they are voting for Sen. Obama because saying otherwise would make them look racist. But while in the privacy of the voting booth, who knows?

Here is my forecast...

By the end of the week we will start to see those poll numbers begin to even out back to the way it was prior to the financial meltdown. This week the Republicans and their surrogates will go on the offensive reminding people that if Sen. Obama wins, Democrats will control the white house and congress. This country is still split about even between Democrats and Republicans and idea that Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid running the congress with a filibuster proof majority and a Democrat in the white house will distort the balance of power in our government. Other's argue that a one-party rule government is just what we need to finally get things done without opposition or Senate deadlocks. Both positions have merit in my eyes.

This author is apolitical in the sense that I do not vote. However, while I am a conservative by nature, I do not feel that conservatism will disappear with the election of Sen. Obama. Most people are conservatives naturally. But since I do not vote, I am likely to support Sen. McCain's domestic agenda over Sen. Obama's. I have to admit that I am uneasy about some of the tough talk Sen. McCain is spewing about Russia and Iran for example. For me to say I am totally for Sen. Obama would be a direct result of polls and popular opinion. Popular opinions are not based on facts. For the most part they are based on emotions.

Remember the polls that showed President, George W. Bush with a 95% approval rating shortly after 9/11?

I still can't for the life of me understand why people are questioning Obama's integrity and character? Not one time has he brought up the Keating 5 scandal that McCain was involved in. Obama is a rock of integrity. I applaud him !

Well, America, hold your loved ones close. Cherish the time you have together, once our troops get pulled out, there will be another attack on our country. For the last 7 years, we've been in their business, and we've been "safe". Now that someone with absolutely NO MILITARY experience running our country, all we can do is pray, oh wait, am I allowed to do that? Or is someone going to be offended? So, since my hubby and I are both military and can be deployed over there at a minimum of 30 days notice, I say to you, Obama supporters, let the ones over there protecting YOUR freedoms decide when to come home. How many of you are spoiled little college kids who can't do some simple research and see that an election isn't about color, it's about who's got the experience to help this country and protect it. I keep hearing "it's time for a black president". WTF does that mean? That says to me racists don't believe a "white" man can run our country. How racist is it to vote for someone based on their COLOR!? I heard it all day on the radio at work yesterday, and oh by the way, a woman with an OBAMA sticker went out of her way to try and run me off the road on 294 here in IL. 80MPH and she's swerving at me giving me a thumbs down sign because I have a McCain sticker on my car. It's the only sticker on my car, except for my Military base decal, which she can't see from my bumper. This election was a joke, the real issues weren't looked at by a lot of voters. If you wanted "change" so bad, you should've voted "Independant". Did you even know the third party's name? He's ran in the last 4 or 5 elections. Do you know who HE is?

President elect Obama be true to yourself and the Creator. Do not let Washington and the movers and shakers co-opt your path. Deal with the realities, but from your standpoint and do not be afraid not to go with the advice that you are given. Do not buy in to the manipulation of other. The priorities your have already outlined are right on point.

The fact that you would even think that one race is more racist than another makes you just as racist as the people you are talking about. That's the kind of attitude that keeps racism alive and makes the "white folk" feel the way they do. What study are you basing your OPINION on? What geographical area? I've been stationed all over this great country, TX, NC, WA, MD, IL, FL, CA, and driven through just about every other state(except AK and HI) and there are areas where white people aren't "recommended" to go. Unless you are in KKK country or skinhead alley, how many communites are there, where black people are scared to go? So don't you dare say there are more racist whites than there are blacks. I think we are pretty even across the board. One more thing, it's not just whites and blacks that are racist, America is a melting pot of races. Been to TX or FL lately? One more reason that YOU are the true racist, everything ISN'T in black and white. I'm tired of hearing it. Get over it. You are so much better than me that you call yourself "African American" instead of just an American. I was born here, raised here, I'm not an "Irish American", you put yourself in a different catagory that way, like you don't want to be grouped with the rest of us. Talk about racist, if you were born on African soil, then fine, but if you were born on American soil, you are an American. Don't church it up.
