A former 'At Large Delegate' in District 41, La Jolla, California for the Republican Platform Planning Committee, I have not supported any Republican candidate for President since before the beginning of the 'Bush Dynasty'. Many of us believe we know why the second George Bush, Dick Cheney, and former Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld formed the apparatus for putting in place a war strategy, the product of which has served to systematically undermine our Constitution, dislodge the mission of our foreign policy, and rob our country's treasury. We have already lost the [d-130182] war on 'terrorism' because it could never have been won in the first place. It is too late for impeachment but should theses individuals be prosecuted for treason and war crimes? Absolutely they should! You and I are not complacent. This could only have happened to us because we trusted in our elected officials, then. We have George W. Bush to thank for the coming change in our whole society - and - for the gift of Senator Barack Obama.
A nonpartisan, economic centrist, I am not affiliated with any political party because I now believe them to be divisive in behavior. This Presidential election is about revolution; embarking on the colossal task of cleanup, rebuilding, and a new beginning for uniting our citizens and our friends in foreign lands.
I have worked since age six when I had a paper route in 1950. Under current [economic] circumstances, the vast majority of men and women reaching retirement age cannot now contemplate retirement. Things have gone dreadfully wrong!

We live in a nation of devastation, where people of power create laws of hate for one another for money and power. How do we the people devour this in our final hour of revelation? Not man's but god's creation of a bountiful nation of love and respect. It's not over yet. Let's all recollect a power struggle with the people against the government standing side by side. We must overcome our oppression people. We must teach our government a lesson people. We must go beyond places of our physical reach. People, we must teach! Still our country continues to fight a war we started, and we claim we will finish. I don't think so! Black's our still enslaved in our system. The immigrant's we dis'em ,but the Chinese we give'em. America is still oppressed by our own that's we stand alone on this war on terror. Don't you think it's time our government comes much clearer about what's really going on in our "America ".

I think most liberals and Democrats would welcome the idea of Sara Palin being the republican candidate in 2012. I am female, a mother and hold positions in which men and I work together hand in hand. You have to earn respect not demand or fall into it. She is a disgrace to our gender and has set us back in history instead of supporting the advances that Hillary and other strong and intellectural woman have made for the rest of us.

Can someone please look into the fact that Joe The Plumber asked a question to Obama that really had nothing to do with him seeing as how he's not a plumber and is no where near ,250,000 a year.

Then marraculously McCain goes 100% forward supporting the whole Joe The Plumber idea as if it was a set up from the beginning. Now Joe is on tour with McCain! I truly believe he was paid by the McCain camp to ask that question and get this whole thing rolling.

How many times are we going to allow McCain to use gimmicks in his campain as if we are all dummies. He obviously has no morals and that is the main reason I pray daily he does NOT become our next president!!

Where was Joe the Plumber? Getting a record deal. As a matter of fact I asked Diddy to hire him and show him the light. So, old Joe wants to make more than $250,000.00 annually. Go Obama-Biden! The American Way!!

It is the content and character of the Man. There is a spirit not felt since Kennedy,King, Malcolm, Mandela.

However it will be more than a Mandela experience for those who have suffered and struggled. It will be a time of higher praise to one who has kept us and Obama recognizes who he serves and so does Biden.

That and is the difference. When the nation is one under God all things are possible. Oh what a celebration there will be. And, then the work begins and it will take all of us to clean house. Except a man build his house..Glory! It starts at home and spreads out. Let Iraq use that 79 billion and let us take that 700 billion and give the 10th to he who holds the key.

When greed and lies rule the day then, fall before the creator and turn from your wicked ways and heal the land.

Obama will sit and talk with Iran because he can with the authority of God whom he serves. It is not Iran that stirs the pot with the ad and music.

Obama is not the one who attacks and plays destroy. It is another type of strategy by McCain and Palin. It is called filth. As a matter of fact this is how the Bush
so called dynasty went into Iraq with a lie to make money on oil and weren't they once friend to Sadam and Bin Laden which explains why Sadam could be found in a hole and Bin Laden can't be found in a cave.

Chaney-what is going on with Halliburton-care to explain the company overview in Iraq? So, who really are the terrorist and it takes one to know one. Barack is not a terrorist-wasn't he checked by FBI, SBI, CIA and other law enforcement agencies? Palin seems to escape ethics investigations and her husband can play super trooper without regard to protocol.

Obama is not a fool. He knows he cannot go alone and have talks or make policies without the approval of the government majority and minority united. He is the kind of person who will investigate, delegate and not take a unrational quick appraoach to anything left by the Bush-Chaney Administration and certainly the Republican body of "brain power".

I'm getting sick and tired of hearing SARA PALIN rattle on about OBAMA not using the word Victory. The Iraq war is a blunder. The only thing left to do is BRING THE TROOPS HOME!!!!! THAT'S VICTORIOUS. If a bomb lands on Bin Laden's head, THAT'S VICTORIOUS.

Palin praises McCain for supporting the surge. Well newsflash.........You can't torch a house and take responsibility for bringing the most water to the scene to put the fire out. Obama opposed going into Iraq in the first place by using his own sound judgement.

The Economy: McCain was just as surprised about the economy taking a nose dive as George Bush was when asked about gas increasing to $4/barrel.

Washington needs leaders that can make a strong statement accompanied by a strong expression. Not an unsure giggle like two other people I know.

2012 Let's hope we make it to that time. And if Sarah Palin runs I hope I have a passport ready. Roque is a polite way of saying she is "out there" like "flew the coup" out there.

She is the girl we all have seen in high school full of ra! ra! ra! and no brain, brain, brain. I do not want to be around when she sends her husband to the Middle East on a "humantarian mission"-God forbid.

Obama Will Be One of the Greatest (and Most Loved) American Presidents

Great presidents are made great by horrible circumstances combined with character, temperament and intelligence. Like firemen, cops, doctors or soldiers, presidents need a crisis to shine.

Obama is one of the most intelligent presidential aspirants to ever step forward in American history. The likes of his intellectual capabilities have not been surpassed in public life since the Founding Fathers put pen to paper. His personal character is also solid gold. Take heart, America: we have the leader for our times.

I say this as a white, former life-long Republican. I say this as the proud father of a Marine. I say this as just another American watching his pension evaporate along with the stock market! I speak as someone who knows it's time to forget party loyalty, ideology and pride and put the country first. I say this as someone happy to be called a fool for going out on a limb and declaring that, 1) Obama will win, and 2) he is going to be amongst the greatest of American presidents.

Obama is our last best chance. He's worth laying it all on the line for.

This is a man who in the age of greed took the high road of community service. This is the good father and husband. This is the humble servant. This is the patient teacher. This is the scholar statesman. This is the man of deep Christian faith.

Good stories about Obama abound; from his personal relationship with his Secret Service agents (he invites them into his home to watch sports, and shoots hoops with them) to the story about how, more than twenty years ago, while standing in the check-in line at an airport, Obama paid a $100 baggage surcharge for a stranger who was broke and stuck. (Obama was virtually penniless himself in those days.) Years later after he became a senator, that stranger recognized Obama's picture and wrote to him to thank him. She received a kindly note back from the senator. (The story only surfaced because the person, who lives in Norway, told a local newspaper after Obama ran for the presidency. The paper published a photograph of this lady proudly displaying Senator Obama's letter.)

Where many leaders are two-faced; publicly kindly but privately feared and/or hated by people closest to them, Obama is consistent in the way he treats people, consistently kind and personally humble. He lives by the code that those who lead must serve. He believes that. He lives it. He lived it long before he was in the public eye.

Obama puts service ahead of ideology. He also knows that to win politically you need to be tough. He can be. He has been. This is a man who does what works, rather than scoring ideological points. In other words he is the quintessential non-ideological pragmatic American. He will (thank God!) disappoint ideologues and purists of the left and the right.

Obama has a reservoir of personal physical courage that is unmatched in presidential history. Why unmatched? Because as the first black contender for the presidency who will win, Obama, and all the rest of us, know that he is in great physical danger from the seemingly unlimited reserve of unhinged racial hatred, and just plain unhinged ignorant hatred, that swirls in the bowels of our wounded and sinful country. By stepping forward to lead, Obama has literally put his life on the line for all of us in a way no white candidate ever has had to do. (And we all know how dangerous the presidency has been even for white presidents.)

Nice stories or even unparalleled courage isn't the only point. The greater point about Obama is that the midst of our worldwide financial meltdown, an expanding (and losing) war in Afghanistan, trying to extricate our country from a wrong and stupidly mistaken ruinously expensive war in Iraq, our mounting and crushing national debt, awaiting the next (and inevitable) al Qaeda attack on our homeland, watching our schools decline to Third World levels of incompetence, facing a general loss of confidence in the government that has been exacerbated by the Republicans doing all they can to undermine our government's capabilities and programs... President Obama will take on the leadership of our country at a make or break time of historic proportions. He faces not one but dozens of crisis, each big enough to define any presidency in better times.

As luck, fate or divine grace would have it (depending on one's personal theology) Obama is blessedly, dare I say uniquely, well-suited to our dire circumstances. Obama is a person with hands-on community service experience, deep connections to top economic advisers from the renowned University of Chicago where he taught law, and a middle-class background that gives him an abiding knowledgeable empathy with the rest of us. As the son of a single mother, who has worked his way up with merit and brains, recipient of top-notch academic scholarships, the peer-selected editor of the Harvard Law Review and, in three giant political steps to state office, national office and now the presidency, Obama clearly has the wit and drive to lead.

Obama is the sober voice of reason at a time of unreason. He is the fellow keeping his head while all around him are panicking. He is the healing presence at a time of national division and strife. He is also new enough to the political process so that he doesn't suffer from the terminally jaded cynicism, the seen-it-all-before syndrome afflicting most politicians in Washington. In that regard we Americans lucked out. It's as if having despaired of our political process we picked a name from the phone book to lead us and that person turned out to be the very man we needed.

Obama brings a healing and uplifting spiritual quality to our politics at the very time when our worst enemy is fear. For eight years we've been ruled by a stunted, fear-filled mediocrity of a little liar who has expanded his power on the basis of creating fear in others.

Fearless Obama is the cure. He speaks a litany of hope rather than a litany of terror.

As we have watched Obama respond in a quiet reasoned manner to crisis after crisis, in both the way he has responded after being attacked and lied about in the 2008 campaign season, to his reasoned response to our multiplying national crises, what we see is the spirit of a trusted family doctor with a great bedside manner. Obama is perfectly suited to hold our hand and lead us through some very tough times. The word panic is not in the Obama dictionary.

America is fighting its "Armageddon" in one fearful heart at a time. A brilliant leader with the mild manner of an old-time matter-of-fact country doctor soothing a frightened child is just what we need. The fact that our "doctor" is a black man leading a hitherto white-ruled nation out of the mess of its own making is all the sweeter and raises the Obama story to that of moral allegory.

Obama brings a moral clarity to his leadership reserved for those who have had to work for everything they've gotten and had to do twice as well as the person standing next to them because of the color of their skin. His experience of succeeding in spite of his color, social background and prejudice could have been embittering or one that fostered a spiritual rebirth of forgiveness and enlightenment. Obama radiates the calm inner peace of the spirit of forgiveness.

Speaking as a believing Christian I see the hand of a merciful God in Obama's candidacy. The biblical metaphors abound. The stone the builder rejected is become the cornerstone... the last shall be first... he that would gain his life must first lose it... the meek shall inherit the earth...

For my secular friends I'll allow that we may have just been extraordinarily lucky! Either way, America wins.

Only a brilliant man, with the spirit of a preacher and the humble heart of a kindly family doctor can lead us now. We are afraid, out of ideas, and worst of all, out of hope. Obama is the cure. And we Americans have it in us to rise to the occasion. We will. We're about to enter one of the most frightening periods of American history. Our country has rarely faced more uncertainty. This is the time for greatness. We have a great leader. We must be a great people backing him, fighting for him, sacrificing for a cause greater than ourselves.

A hundred years from now Obama's portrait will be placed next to that of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt. Long before that we'll be telling our children and grandchildren that we stepped out in faith and voted for a young black man who stood up and led our country back from the brink of an abyss. We'll tell them about the power of love, faith and hope. We'll tell them about the power of creativity combined with humility and intellectual brilliance. We'll tell them that President Obama gave us the gift of regaining our faith in our country. We'll tell them that we all stood up and pitched in and won the day. We'll tell them that President Obama restored our standing in the world. We'll tell them that by the time he left office our schools were on the mend, our economy booming, that we'd become a nation filled with green energy alternatives and were leading the world away from dependence on carbon-based destruction. We'll tell them that because of President Obama's example and leadership the integrity of the family was restored, divorce rates went down, more fathers took responsibility for their children, and abortion rates fell dramatically as women, families and children were cared for through compassionate social programs that worked. We'll tell them about how the gap closed between the middle class and the super rich, how we won health care for all, how crime rates fell, how bad wars were brought to an honorable conclusion. We'll tell them that when we were attacked again by al Qaeda, how reason prevailed and the response was smart, tough, measured and effective, and our civil rights were protected even in times of crisis...

We'll tell them that we were part of the inexplicably blessed miracle that happened to our country those many years ago in 2008 when a young black man was sent by God, fate or luck to save our country. We'll tell them that it's good to live in America where anything is possible. Yes we will.

I can't draw - and I'm not a racist! Obama really botthers me in my gut -

This is what I think...

Why I think Obama is a socialist.
Remember......one doesn't reach socialism in one fell swoop......it is a creeping slug. But let's not put real legs to it.

1. Obama grew up with a mother who studied it from the time she was a young girl and married a man (Obama's father) who not only believed in socialism but was a hard core communist. Look up why Jomo Kenyatta ousted him from his government in Kenya. Also his support for Raila Odinga in his bid for power in Africa.

2. Out side of socialism somewhat but still troubling. He did receive Islamic teaching in school as a young boy at precisely the age that he would be most vulnerable. Compound that with his middle eastern associations that we now know about.

3. His association with avowed communist Frank Davis who befriended and advised him as a young boy and young man.

4. His association with Saul Alinsky the socialist "organizer". Read what Alinsky's son said about Obama.

5. His association with Bill Ayers, ACORN, and numerous other questionable characters.

6. His association with Tony Rezco.

7. His history in Chicago, Illinois, and U.S. politics.....read the entire story.

8. I read his book "Dreams from my Father" when he first announced he was running and I didn't know who he was. I started reading from there because I came away from that book with the feeling that he was a very conflicted young man and his.

When looking at a candidate for President, I want someone with good character. The party is what it is and always has been but the person heading it can push it towards disaster if they are not of good character. If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. He has too many questionable associations in his history. One or two maybe I can overlook but his whole history is replete with them. Too questionable to even consider.

I'am soo sad and disgusted over the way Senator Mccain and Palin have made these vicious aligations about Senator Obama. I have lots of respect for Obama and I feel good about him. I am a first time voter and I feel move by this man as well as alot of other americans. Mccain has become so despirate that he can't hide the fear in his face. He talks like he is confident but if he was then he would'nt be trying soo hard to sabotage Obama. His 30 minute commercial brought so much inspiration to me that I had tears in my eyes. I fear Mccain taking over this election. CHANGE WE NEED! OBAMA WE LOVE YOU! Obama is NOT a terrorist!!! WAKE UP AMERICA!

God vs. Science
God vs. Science has been one of the most popular topics to be discussed for a very long time. Many people would like to know if they were formed through God or Science. Most people believe in the scientific theory of the Darwinian Evolution as well as the Big Bang Theory. According to the Big Bang Theory, the universe expanded from an extremely hot and dense state and still continues to expand. Me personally, I do not believe in the scientific theory. I believe in The Almighty God. I believe that he is our Lord and Savior and delivers us from our sins through His son, Jesus Christ. In the bible it reads in Genesis that we humans were made from the first two persons ever to walk the earth called Adam and Eve. Adam was the Lord's first human creation and hence forth went on to create another from the man in which he created to create a woman. This was so that the man would not be alone and they could fill the earth with their offspring. God vs. Science is a majorly discussed debate and should be talked about more to find the truth.

I went to the polls today in FL--Parkland Public Library(Suburb of Fort Lauderdale)-- I witnessed and experienced pure mayhem and confusion once I made it into the actual booth area-- workers were taking ballots from voters while making selections, the workers prevented voters from receiving their correct ballots-- It was just chaotic. Florida needs a new System-- This was my first time voting here since moving from Georgia--I was so disappointed and worried that my vote would not count that I went to talk to the supvr. and had to get confirmation that all was well.. Electronic touch screens and electronic cards that record your selections would work much better and move things along!!!

I'm scared that some Americans really can't deal with the idea that a man of color will be the Commander in chief and I just hope some let their hatred for others get the best of them...bob and weave Mr. Obama Bob and Weave!!!

What if things were switched around... think about it. Would the country's collective point of view be different? Ponder the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review? What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards? What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?
What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as your standing in the world.

Early voting, Whew! I live in Columbus Ga. Columbus Georgia-----I got there for early voting at the library at 2:15, I was finished voting at 5:28. The line was out to the parking lot yesterday. It filtered through the door and then, upstairs, where the entire perimeter had to be gone through, before you got to the voting area. I have never, never, ever, seen so many people vote in this area. I am 51. Columbus had the handicapped, of which I am one, wait just like everyone else. I fell down once, but I imagine a lot of our soldiers have fallen too. I didn't mind. People were nice, the young man in front of me let me go to the bathroom and held my place in line. I did not like, when the sheriff went through the line and said that he was going to give out parking tickets. Everyone just ignored him and kept their place in line. It was stifling up there on the second floor library, but I saw very few people leave. Only two young men left after being shocked at what was happening. The voters on canes, walkers, even wheelchairs took their places in line. (no exceptions for them) I drank so much ice tea when I got out of there, I thought I was going to blow. So much for advanced voting in Columbus GA.

Barack will win the election. Being a psychic and I have looked in the Bible Code and Nostradamus, it is clear.
Being said, our country will be in a war of all wars.
I will pray that he will make the right decisions, we will see many disasters...Man made and terroists disasters, and natural disasters.

The way I see it, the only reason anyone would vote for McCain is they are ignorant or a racist and a coward. If you believe the lies by the GOP then you are a fool. If you are using one of the lies to vote for McCain then you are a racist coward. I am a life long republican but I am voting for BO because it is the only smart choice. The abortion issue is a sticking point but religion has no place in government and should not be part of the election. The constitution should be protected. In my opinion Lying is a sin and the GOP has lied to all of us and they know it. So they do not honor God or you by there lies and if you are swayed by there lies or just hiding behind the lies to hind your racism then I feel sad for you. That is not want Jesus would do.

Today is more than just a historical moment in time but, there is a Spirit that of let's get this right no matter who is your candidate. For me it is Obama. He symbolizes strength, hope and dedication to his family, country and the world.

No matter what happens, I am proud to be an American. I am proud of Barack Obama especially. His grandmother and family reared him well. He let God direct his path and when you put your hand in God's hand "all things are possible". Just to see the excitement on children's faces and all the songs, commentaries and just a sense of pride in America excites me.
You may not have understood what Michelle said by saying this is the first time she felt a sense of pride but, for those of us who struggled through segregation it is understood. And, she is especially proud to see her husband stand before the people of America which at one time was not allowed and would be an act of treason. So, Michelle we understand this moment and all you and your husband have sacrificed to get to this point. "Oh what an awesome God we serve. The last shall be first" saith the Lord.

Today I am truly happy and I join Obama in grief with the passing of my uncle, a Korean Veteran. He served. He volunteered to be in the US Army at 17. And, during his time he was sent only to clean up but, he did his duty and did it well.

I just heard a "dumb question". What will be the relations with Whites if Obama wins? The relations will hopefully be better for all people. Look at Mandela not saying Obama is Mandela but, we are not a people like those who have persecuted us.

As a matter of fact I see her guidance and love for her. So, Senator Biden you too make me and others so very proud. History will be great for both of you. You both have took the challenge and God is well pleased in you.

Barack will win and no weapon formed will come against him this is our pray. Go NC-rock it! I have vision too but, there will not be problems so big that God cannot handle. To USGS. I think the "gut" thing is the fear of the unknown. When a society is taught negative ideas about other races and cultures then, it is like an infection- it grows. For so long some have been taught to think one way to hinder growth and understanding. If you lived in segregation then, yes there were many organizations that thrived but, they thrived on hatred and were formed to do what they thought to be right at that time.

Some of our great leaders were part of such organizations and some still are but, they do not make it known. I imagine the KKK still is in politics and maybe the Black Panthers but, whatever the case God is still in control. He has His people in place and nothing will stand in the way of His will.

There is a Bible passage which says "Fear God and what he will do not man". So, I would be wise to know that God is someone one does not want to cross. What man does or doesn't do is not what one should be afraid of but, God-that is a different story.

In all the elections I've voted in, I've never seen so many people full of pride and happy to be Americans. Rowling novel)and I have yet to read any that talked about the actual content of the blog above. There are plenty of blogs to discuss McCain and Obama,their running mates,etc..but I just wanted to say how much the student's collage` of art influenced by politics caught my attention!
It's through art forms such as: painting,music,theater,words, etc that we can reflect on the good,the bad and ugly of our world without such obvious prejudice and actions...politics conveyed through an artistic lens is at it's plainest: an expression of someone's opinion to be observed,viewed,enjoyed without taking all the credit OR placing blame. you like or you don't like it..and move on

Lord help us all!!! Palin wants to help Obama. I felt sorry for McCain so, here is the word to Obama-RUN!!!!

What in the world would she do? She is all over the place. Now, she makes me nervous-very. Barack and Joe you are right in making choices slowly but, please if God is listening do not put Palin on board. She can help but, isn't that betraying McCain "big time?" Then, with her energy we could save money on fuel cost.
