Greetings everyone.   I wanted to address harassment on iReport.  In just the last couple of days, I have received several anonymous insulting and harassing emails regarding my posts on iReport from the following email address -   katdly6@aol.com.  I put a block on that address, so this person started harassing me using the email account -austtx2@yahoo.com.  Then, that same person continued using the email address - chloe_rose_1994@hotmail.com.  I know it is the same person because they are following and continuing the same insulting rant.  Is there a way to check this person out by matching up iReporters with those email addresses?  I'm pretty sure I know who this person is.  I checked and found that this iReporter was up and posting an iReport at 4:30 in the morning - the same time the first harassing emails were sent to me.  I will disclose my suspicion and forward the harassing emails to the appropriate person for investigation and IP address match up, if needed. Please advise.  I post this here in case others have received harassing emails from the same email addresses (person).  Thank you. 

It would have been nice to get notification YESTERDAY. I stayed home this morning.

JoyfulGypsy That AustTx2 person has harassed OCGirl as well. She was always saying people were harassing her and iReports dismissed her complaints.

I know of a couple people who have filed complaints with the FBI cyber-crime unit about harassment and stalking. Maybe you should do the same.

Some things some say are not harrassing. Just tell David about it, he will take care of. Or take it to the FBI level ifffffff it is truly that bad. Some people over react.

I've been harrassed via iReports Private message by 4 different names ever since  OCgirl was banned.  I'd never been harrassed before that.  I've never given out my private email address so I consider that a good thing.

@Spontaneous - How could you possibly have any idea what was said in the emails that were sent to me to even make such a statement?

Sponanteous, Since you could not possibly have any idea what the emails that were sent to me said, I'll just say that the anonymous coward(s) that's been harassing me will be exposed.  Thanks for your input.

I don't know JoyfulGypsy, you are right. I was referring to the banned that complained all the time but didn't want to put it's name here. Good for you and I hope you are sucessful. No need to jump down my throat

Hey everyone....are we still talking about the harassment.  As much as it sucks, I think we just have to either get over it or ignore it.  We've been talking about it for so many weeks, and I know the iReport staff it working very hard on trying to get rid of it.  It's going to happen, for some reason people like to get people worked up!  Just try to ignore it!  Don't take it personal, I've learned that!

I agree KyleHD. I get it too but I don't broadcast it. As long as no one is knocking on my door, say what you will--it's just words, ignore it. It does need to cease to me. Deal with it on your own with David and the team.

Kyle, normally I wouldn't make a big deal out of something like this.  However, I realize this person has been trolling around harassing others on iReport using the same email address (as per Margot 707, above) and basically causing a disruption.  Enough already. I plan on pursuing this on my own, outside of iReport, and I encourage others who have been harassed by this person (two people, really) to do the same. 

To Spontaneous - Again, you don't know my situation (?) so to be dismissive and say it's "just words" is just not accurate in my case.  It's more than that. 

I will not post about this here again, however, I will be taking action.

Just one more thing...some of the things said in the emails I received were disturbing.  The person writing these emails, clearly is not of very sound mind.  I'm not sure this should be handled as just some minor annoyance, to be ignored and dismissed.  This person could just possibly be downright dangerous.

It be nice to have a button where we could block or delete comments on our post that we feel are people trying to instigate a fight...

You all might want to take a look at this! I am appauled that this is happening. All lies, no facts or truth or proof of any of this slander that this person who is doing this now all over the internet! Just check as to who joined 11 days prior and then decided to deactivate? It is not hard to figure out.. Come on CNN iReports Management Staff...do something to protect the ireporters who would very much like to continue on this site but for now will not due to the threatening behavior of others who make it their agenda to destroy everything here!

Spontaneous what do you mean WE saw?? who saw? There are a lot of people who have NOT seen this link I have posted here. Your name is not the only one on there and for this person to be putting this nonsense on the internet is Slanderous and against the law..The is not a joke nor is it funny. If this site had in place proper blocking tools for people to use, then I do not think half the crap would have happened that has been happening and getting increasingly worse. Why keep it quiet? It must be made public..The emails sent in are in vain at this point. nothing is happening to correct the situation. All that seems to be happening is that the wrong people are getting banned and the ones who have been banned as the worst people on ireports are still here posting and causing a lot of problems all over this site, amoung other websites!

The announcement says Thursday, June 9th.  June 9th is on a Tuesday.  July 9th is on a Thursday.  So which one is it?

I put it on here because this is a public forum/blog page and so when I recieved it in an email I figured the best way to expose this nonsense was to put it on here. Because it is some other website, there is nothing management will do. That has been told to many people before regarding damaging character assination attempts on other websites. So, if your name is on the list then it is up to you to seek out your own legal council..That is the reason I put this on here!

Whoops! The next roundtable will be on Thursday, June 4 (tomorrow). I apologize for not correcting this sooner. I've been out of the office for the past few days.
