keep up with what's new and what's next
Follow along with iReport staffers as we build a new kind of news site.
As Jay Leno prepares to host “The Tonight Show” for the final time, with Conan O’Brien waiting in the wings to take over, iReporters sounded off on which one is the better host.
davidseaman is a committed Leno fan, and finds O’Brien’s humor to be a little too self-centered. He finds Leno to he more “polished”.
Rajiim polled several of his friends and family, who seemed to be split on the issue, but he had to go with his favorite, O’Brien. Though he admits he might be a little biased, since O’Brien’s a taller man just like himself.
Despite a late rally by O’Brien fans, it appears that Leno had more support overall in the community. Check out what others had to say here.

It's interesting that the CNN online poll has Leno and Letterman tied at 39% for BEST LATE-NIGHT HOST, with a slight edge to Leno (499 votes) -- and it has been like that (200-500 votes) for Leno all evening. O'Brien is at 17% (14124 votes) and Kimmel has 5% (4631 votes). It's 11 PM PST, so I'm outta here with Leno the winner by a close majority. |

In the begining there was Johnny, and the network saw that Johnny was good, so the network said here's "Johnny".
Then came Leno, and the network saw that Leno was good, so it said let Leno be Late Night King.
Then when Leno was all tired after 17 years, The network said Late Night With Conan is good. Lets try it.
The networks then said, if we fail with Conan, Human Kind will be left with that most boring idiot , David Letterman. Land of the living dead.
Let us give thanks to the Networks for their wisdom and having saved us from Limbo Land, Tonight with David Letterman.
Praise be unto the Networks.

Now we have all sorts of late night humor. Letterman is sarcastic. O'Brien is manic. Kimmel is inane. Fallon is mundane. Ferguson is slap-stick. And with Leno's return in September we'll have one-liners again! |
