'King of Pop' memories »

iReport is fast filling up with sweet tributes and memories of Michael Jackson as a pop icon. We're hearing tales from around the world of white-gloved childhoods, first records and never-forget concerts.  It's late, but we can't end the night without a quick list of a few of our favorite conversations this evening:

Nicole: Diana Dawn DiAngelo of Sonoma, California, got the chance to go to the annual Lucasfilm Picnic at Skywalker Ranch with her sister in the mid-1980s, which is pretty awesome by itself because George Lucas would attend. But Michael Jackson was also there because of the Captain EO 3-D film at Disneyland. She got to gush over him as he signed an autograph in her Lucasfilm Yearbook. Later, she was charmed by the fact that he said hello to her again while riding around on a fire truck.

Tyson: Great chats tonight with Rany Ibrahim from Novia Scotia, who remembers doing the moon walk with his friends growing up in Egypt and Rajiim Gross from Kentucky, who says he was the first kid in school to wear the red "Beat It" jacket, and once wrote Michael Jackson asking his hero to play his parent's wedding anniversary, and got a response from Michael wishing his mom and dad congratulations.

Lila: Oh boy. I just got off the phone with Jeffrey Wentworth Stevens, who shared these completely adorable photos of his 9-year-old, completely Michael Jackson-obsessed self with a glitter glove birthday cake. It was the same year he'd won a pair of tickets to see Jackson at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado, and cried his way through the concert. Awww.

Michael Jackson was just trying to save himself.  If you think about it, we killed him.  We pushed him to his limit.

Michael Jackson was one of the "greatest music producers" ever, his songs were phenomenal and so inspiring with great beats, excellent words, vibrant dances, and tremendous creativity.  I want a "white glove" as a memento in memory of "his greatness".  May he rest in peace, he was "one of my most favorite singers of all time".  God bless his family and the world!

After spending about 24 hours traveling through five countries - from Turkey to the US - and not having kept up with US media after 3 weeks of traveling, I was greeted with the news of Michael Jackson's death shortly after coming home to New York. In shock, and searching the Internet for media reports, a friend called me to confirm the news. In the background, I heard her 5 1/2-year-old daughter Anais yelling, "They should have left him alone. Mommy, why didn't they leave him alone." ... Five-and-a-half years old ... from the mouth of babes, indeed. I knelt down and cried. ...

I can't begin to describe what Michael Jackson means to a 33-year-old woman of color. So many bookmark moments. So many memories. So many reflections. A young black man who became a man-child - and the repercussions of his success.

He is an icon. A trendsetter. An innovator. An artist. A misunderstood ... perhaps, never fully understood, young man who carried so much history, pain, talent and beauty on his shoulders.

Despite the media controversies, rumors and constant scrutiny, he remained a stoic model of one archetype of the black male in America. ... I will remember him as such. ... Not the King of Pop ... not the performer ... not the recording artist ... but the humanitarian ... the human ... the man .. the child - which he never was allowed to be ... and more importantly, the black male child, who became a black man ... in the form only he knew to become.

To Michael ...

My wife ask me,why are they makeing such a big deal about Michaels death. I told her, that he was like Elvis. He was just as big as him are if not bigger than Elvis. He was loved around the whole world. Nobody will ever be as big as Michael and Elvis. They made what music is today. I will miss you Michael and will never stop listing to your music. God Bless your sole and may you rest in peace.   love Russell Harper from Mississippi

My sisters and I taught ourselves how to sing and dance watching the Jackson Five! We were born in 56, 57 and 58 and are Irish Catholics from the suburbs of Boston. His music will be with us for the rest of our lives. He absolutely helped bridge the gap between black and white.

The industry is responsible for exploiting this gift from God.

Once again the media is going to glorify the death of another entertainer.  He created music for a living.  I worked with 1000's of people in a very large hospital that save lives everyday (trauma surgeons, nurses ect...)  We will never hear anything about these people who truly are a positive influence and make a diference in this life.  Over 4000 deaths in Iraq.  Why is his death so glorified when our soldiers pay the ultimate price and die for our country and we never hear a word about them or their family. He and his family should be prayed for like everyone else.  This is all ridiculous.  He did some horrific things in his life.  Would anyone want their kids to model their life after him.  I don't think so.  He sang for a living he did not cure cancer.

My heart is heavy because of the loss of Michael Jackson.  I never believed that he would harm a fly.  He was different yes, genius....yes, but never a predator.  I am 28 years old and I have heard his music since I was in the womb.  We all have a kinship with him through his music no matter the age, race, or background.  Today we lost more than an entertainer.  We lost a brother.

@clint1969

No one knows that he molested anyone.  And the reason he is getting so much airtime right now is because EVERYONE IN THE WORLD has lived, loved, cried, laughed, and been scared by his musical genius.  He is getting the respect he deserves and so does the corageous, and skilled people that saves the lives of people we care about.  Besides everyone has done something horrible or bad in their life.  That makes him human.  But I frankly don't believe that he would harm a fly.

Remembering The Times of

THE KING OF POP

You can always count on me

I remember during the Jackson 5 hey days, my family and I moved to Gary, Indiana.  My father became the managing editor of the local newspaper, The Post-Tribune. Before I left Tulsa, my fellow elementary classmates at William Penn were more excited than I.   Going to the hometown of the Jackson 5, Gary, Indiana! That was big news then.  "I bet you will be going to school with Michael Jackson!" they would say. However, when we got there, the Jacksons just left Gary. But while we settled in Steele Town, Michael and his family would come to visit their family members here in Tulsa.

While attending Kennedy-King Middle School, a suburb in Gary called Miller, my new schoolmates and I, would bring our favorite records to dance to on lunch hours in Ms. Mabel Bianchi's classroom.  With afro puffs, bell bottom jeans and platform shoes, the latest dances were being showcased.  "The Bump and the "Funky Robot" were the perfect dances to the music of their local heroes, The Jackson 5.  I brought my local hero's album with me for the occasion, The GAP Band!  It was called the Magician’s Holiday produced by Leon Russell, who wrote hit songs like "Lady Blue" and "This Masquerade," made famous by jazz guitarist George Benson.  When it was my turn to play my record I carefully placed the needle on my favorite track, “You Can Always Count On Me,” sung by Charlie Wilson.  The whole class stood still as I smiled with glee while listening to my homeboys.  Next thing I knew my record had a deep scratch as it was pulled off the turntable.  "Good,” somebody yelled out. “Put the Jackson 5's "Dancing Machine" back on!

In retrospect how could these Tulsa boys keep up with the kids from Gary in their own hometown? Neither GAP Band nor I stood a chance at that school, on that day.

So, I did not get to meet the Jacksons until Tito came to Tulsa nearly 30 years later.  I had interviewed him for The Oklahoma Eagle. I asked Tito was he aware of his family's connection to the Greenwood story. He said "Oh yes, The Black Wall Street, we all are aware of what had happen," Tito would said. I was so glad that I had asked him that question, and felt a much stronger connection to the family of icons.

The passing of the King of Pop is not the end of an era, but the begining of a world-wide legend for many generations yet to come.

I hate hearing all of the crap that people want to think killed Michael Jackson. A cardiac arrest is a cardiac arrest. I am a survivor of a caridac arrest at 40 years old.I am now 44 and I have 5 kids. I foung out that when my mother died in 1981 that she also died of a cardiac arrest. What I have (pronged QT is genetic) I am fighting for testing to see if my children have it and that is my concern with Michael's death...it could be many of inherited things that could effect his children. I pray for you and your family. Karen Barnes

Your gift to the world is as big as the stars in the sky and you gave the light of your star for all to see and enjoy.  I am so thankful for your gift it carries an eternity of memories, pleasure and expectations of high standards for all other performers.  My sadness can only be mitigated by listening to my Michael Jackson collection of music.

I watched you grow up, and while we were only ten years apart I felt you growing up with me as a younger brother.  I loved you, your family and your music.  Because you gave so freely, you made your mark that will be remembered until the end of time.  Rest in peace, knowing that you gave us all much to live with.

Am still in shock over this. I remember as a little girl trying to do the moon walk...lol. Funny times. I would never think that he would be gone at such a young age. We must all learn from this and take care of our bodies as much as possible. As I drove to work tears streamed down my face as I heard some of Mike music. "Man in the mirror" is my favorite. Michael you will be missed. Rest in peace-

My heart aches at the death of Michael Jackson. Never again will a musician be such a skilled performer, lyricist, producer and voice. He was multidimensional beyond believability and had universal appeal. He brought compassion into his craft. I felt a personal affiliation towards him and as a litle girl told people that I was to marry him :)I'm glad I attended his concert in South Africa in 1997. I feel like I've lost someone dear to me. To those who were not awed by his magnificence, I really believe you had your eyes and ears sealed. We were blessed to have seen it firsthand. God Bless Michael!!!

I truly grew up with Michael I saw him for the first time on the Ed Sullivan show, I was about six years old and fell in love with him and his music. Only Michael and his God know his true story and I for one will not speculate on that. I hope he is in a better place. My tribute to Michael is this; You Rocked My World, you gave me Butterflies, tonight All I Do Is Think About You,  I Will Remember The Times your music moved me, I will strive to better The Man in Mirror I see each day, and because I Never Can Say Goodbye I will simply say REST IN PEACE.

Michael was a real international superstar. On the opposite end of the globe, in India, I and my cousins grew up listening to Michael, trying out the moonwalk and breakdance! I even read his biography. In some ways, these links on youtube are a tribute to him: Prisoners in Phillipines re-enacting the thriller video (healing the world, truly):

Michael was THE most influential figure the world will ever  stumble upon. He has not only changed the way we listen to music but our lives along with it; at least for the fans. I grew up watching MJ and every one of those times I felt the shiver threw my body with the Moonwalks and the gravity defying moves he did. Through my ups and downs, his music has been the remedy to it all. Even though he is dead in person now but as a legacy, as a history, as an artist, as the king.....he will always be alive among us. I pay my deepest respect to him for the changes that he brought upon this world and with my deepest condolesences, I must say that the king has departed.

I like many many others grew up listening, admiring, inspired, and loving Michael Jackson! I really wish that everyone including the Media would stop bringing up the negative! Mainly because he was never proven or admitted to doing anything wrong! If he is guilty of any wrong doing, Only God has the right to judge him! Some of the people who have bad to say about him are some of the same people that are guilty of wrong doing! So please let's remember him for the good like " We Are The World", and " Man In The Mirror"! What we know for sure about him is that he was a good man, who probably hurt a lot! Let's give him the peace in death that we didn't give him life! My prayers are with his family and I mourn with them as well as for them! May God bless his soul and his family!

Sincerely,

Hi I am 12 years old. I am from Malaysia. My sister and I grew up listening to my mum and dad talk about Michael Jackson. They have his albums and his songs were always playing at home. I've never seen a singer/dancer like him before. My parents were lucky to have seen him in concert when he came to Kuala Lumpur. I have always dreamed of seeing him in concert. My whole family is very sad as if they have lost a member of the family.

He was for my generation and many others to follow the epitome of what talent and an all inspiring musician is that possesses a quality that transcends across all cultures, races and ethnic backgrounds. May he find the peace he sought in life with his God and his children and family find comfort in each other during this time and in the coming years. We as a world have lost an icon but we must remember a family has lost a son, brother and father. Go in piece our friend.

Micheal Jackson was just a small child himself when he started in this business.  Just imagine for a moment of never having a childhood, no make believe, no cartoons, no friends to play games with and finally knowone his age to share all those kid moments that we have all shared.  On top of all of this abuse suffered from the only person that is suppose to love you unconditional and nuture you through the childhood which again he never ever had.  The pain and longing for that would be incrediable to bare and the feeling that all he is left is to get some feeling of love from his fans which he was forced to give up what he longed for.

He may of been child like but how would he know he never had one. Micheal rest now the pain is gone and you will always be the king.  Thank you for the wonderful music and emotion you shared with us so that we have enjoyment even know you were in so much pain.  My heart goes out to the family. God Bless you and now you truly are free.

Micheal was a music icon and will always be remembered for it, it's just sad to see him go and everyone who keeps bringing up the bad in his life. He is gone now and we need to remember the good and how he changed musical history not his court hearings and any of his other down falls.

In remembering him in my past I watched him on MTV the entire time I grew up.  His music video Leave me Alone will always be one I remember.

Also I don't know if a lot of people know this but I also remember a video game inspired by him on nintendo. Just shows how much of an Icon he was and How he will always be remember as a god of the music industry

The Jackson family is in our thoughts and prayers

My dear beloved Michael

I relate to him a lot because I had a very lonely and sad childhood,I was a poor fat and ugly teenage girl back in the days with no hope in life and a corupted family , his words and his personality moved me and influenced me like Jesus , I owe who I am today to him, I owe knowing English to him

there is not a single person who does not know who much I respect him and adore him

I never has the opportunity like other teenagers at my age to buy any of his ticeket to see him alive and that breaks my heart today to know that he is not physically among us anymore

I love you much Micael that words can not describe the desperation and saddness that I am feeling right now as I am typing these words

Rest IN Peace my beloved Michael

I am 51 years old and when I was a child I was being abused everyday and many times I was considering suicide but Michael Jackson got me through all those abusive years, Inever told anyone what I was going through because I did not want my brothers and sole sister seperated into the foster system. I know what a abuser looks like and I never believed the alligations. I have always loved Michael and his brothers, Janet, and I never stoped loving them and loved Michael so much more. I am so very sad that we lost him, how can those around him allow this to happen. There will never be anyone like him again. Now, Michael has peace but Michael is not resting now because Michael is now dancing and entertaining in heaven for God,Jesus...Elvis,James Brown,Ray Charles,Marvin and so many others in heaven. Heaven is Michael's stage now. I know some day I will see Michael again up there. Michael was a good man, a kingdred spirit who loved everyone and who everyone around the world also loved. I believe the press killed him and all those who turned on him. I never gave up on him. It will take some time for me to over come his lose.

I will always love him and feel for his family and kids.

This should have never happened. Those around him should have prevented this. Michael was a very good soul. Michael really touched my heart. This is so very sad.

He was on the verge of comeback and was working feverishly to remedy his financial woes.   From all the artists that watched him, learned from him and idolized him, I would like to see them come together and perform in his honor (tribute to his music) at his already schedules concerts so the money can go to his estate and to raising his children that he loved with all his heart.  He has given us so much over the years, it our turn to give back to him.     If all the celebrities that loved his so much would give one day (each concert could be a different set of celebrities to work around their schedules) we could let him know how much in life and in death he influenced us.

Its truly the end of an era, we ll probably never see someone rise so high and its up to us to let future generations know that a mega star like michael jackson existed. R.I.P king

I am utterly shocked of the news. At first i couldn't believe it. What Frustrates me is that no one saw Michael Jackson for his talent, they saw him for his personal life. It's no ones business knowing what happens a person's life. The press caused Michael to die. They criticized his mistakes through life. Michael was a helpless soul. He was very stressed out from concerts and more. Michael Jackson is a "Thriller" and it doesn't matter if he's "Black or White". He will always "Rock my World" forever. He is in my heart and no one can take him out of me. Michael Jackson is my inspiration and a talented person. Even though he is dead "Thriller" will always be there to haunt him. May you rest in peace Michael Joesph Jackson. R.I.P

Michael Jackson was a child prodigy, a genius living among us.

I remember the 1st time I saw Michael on TV and cannot remember a time when he was not a part of my life after that day. Across the globe he was revered. He was a once in a lifetime person, who I feel priviledged to have shared my lifetime with.

Michael Jackson was also misunderstood and a victim of his own success.

Michael - we love you and thank you for a lifetime of memories. You will never truly die as you will live on in our hearts and in your music forever.

My heartfelt condolences to his family. May God Bless you and your children and keep you in his loving protection forever.

However, that is something that is needed to change the world in a child's perspective without the corruption. He will never die his loyalty will live on. He was the King of Pop. He opened doors for many singer of my generation. No one will ever exceed him in music, performance, and heart.

I was lucky enough to meet Michael Jackson in 1984 wen I was 1. I spent an amazing week with him, Quincy Jones an his two daughters, Kidada and Rashida and Steven Spielberg.

We had fun all week playing freeze tag in the dark, Michael making crank clls tour oom atnight, witing notes to eachother, and making "movies" with Steven Spielberg. I have many wonderfulmemois, and photos, but I don't have any of these photos online (no digital in 1984!)

A tribute to Michael

Today is the day

when a Thriller comes true!

I can’t help it; I guess it is in the Human Nature

to grief a fallen star

I want you back,

you said that Heaven could wait,

so why did you Leave me alone.

Of course I understand that you Got to be there,

but still I want you back

I remember the time when

you used to Burn the discos out

I remember the time when you

always Started something

I will always remember your music

Your songs have taught me a lot of things

You taught me, Don’t stop till you get enough

You taught me ABC

and you taught me to Keep the faith

You were such a PYT,

a Speed demon on the stage,

a master of music and I will never forget

The way you make me feel

I stand here like Someone in the dark and cry

Cry because you have left this world behind

Turned into a Ghost

and make a whole world wanna’ Scream

The world are feeling Bad, 2 bad

We can’t just stop loving you

We have to accept it

We just have to Beat it

Whatever happened in your life,

you have change the faith for The lost children

and you have change my Childhood.

You have change the world!

You have Healed the world!

you are the world!

I think the media needs to chill out with bashing Michael Jackson about the crimes he may or may not have committed. There is nothing we all can do about it now. He is another place being judged for his sins, just like the rest of us will one day. I mean seriously they need to chill out. We havent even gave his family the time to greive. CNN, Fox, and other random news stations just jumped right on it in on attacking his wrongs. The man is gone..let it go!

I from England, I purchase two tickets to see the KING of POP, Michael Jackson.  I have not gone into work.  It's seem as if I lost a big brother, I never ever think I could be this effected by someone I didn't know personally.  As you know a million people in the UK, bought his tickets within a hour of them going on sale.  He loved, so much over here in Europe .  I will becoming to the US for the first time to say good bye to my brother Michael.  I am white and MJ did not care about race or colour.  My parent are fans of Michael, my kids will know him and how he was the greatest ever to live in my opinion.  No one but no one will ever touch Michael.  He the most talent of them all.  Michael, is nothing like Elvis, Michael Jackson belong to the world.  Every race on this planet love MJ, in Elvis, time black musician wasn't given any credit for creating Rock & Roll.  In Elvis time race was a big issue, Michael stop all that and brought people of all races together.  If you look at Elvis show it's mainly white Michael show had every race as his fan.  No Micheal is no Elvis, he a non racial person who change the way we look at each other.  Both, men were talented in they own right.  This is about Michael please give us his fan the respect.

Michael is the king of pop, as Elvis is the King of rock. He will be missed. I enjoyed the song of Ben, it had a sad story to it, as if he was expressing his loneliness. I was wondering how come we haven't heard any remarks from Liz Taylor, who was Michaels closest friend?

It is a shame not to be able to see Michael Grow to an old age. Even though he left us too soon he lived a life filled of great history making moments. He lived a life and accomplished fame that some of us will never know, but through it all; the fame, money and scandals. I still believe he was humbled with his experiences and that makes him better than being the King of Pop. That makes him a great human being. You will be greatly missed. I love you Michael.

It saddens me to hear that MJ has passed away.  His music and legacy spanned across generations and is the only artist that is STILL well known across the globe.

His music has prevailed over all his tribulations and will be forever remembered as the voice of the Jackson 5 who could moon walk across the stage with ease and thrill anyone who listened to his ingenious talent.

God be with you MJ and thanks for touching ALL our lives.

I cannot put into words the profound sadness that I have at at the loss of Michael Jackson.  As I was reflecting on what this global icon meant to me, I had an experience that I cannot yet name, and perhaps never will be able to.  The words you read seem to be placed in my heart, and I was cognicanr enough to write them down.  Read on....

As I was walking one day, I met this PYT (pretty young thing).  I stopped to talk to her.  "What's your name'" I asked.  She replied, my friends call me "Dirty Diana."  "What's your name she asked, I replied, "Ben."  Well Ben she said, I thought you were taken, to which I replied, "Billie Jean is not my lover, and besides "She's Out Of My Life."She looked at me and smiled, and said, "you must be some kind of "Smooth Criminal."  I said, Girl you are "Off The Wall."  I told her I had taken a look at the "Man In The Mirror", and saw that at times, He was "BAD."  I look into her eyes and told her, "The Way You Make Me Feel" gives me "Butterflies."  So we continued talking and I asked her to the movies.  She asked What kind of movie.  I replied, some kind of "Thriller", of course. We would talk on the phone late into the night, and she told me that she was lonely, and I told her "You Are Not Alone", and if you wait for me, "I'll be there."She sighed and asked, "Can you feel it?" I chuckled and asked, feel what?  "Human Nature", she said.  So I asked her, "You wanna be startin something?"  She replied, "Whatever Happens."  She asked what I thought about love, and I told her love is "ABC", and easy as 123.  The thing about love is it don't matter if you're "Black or White."  We fell i love and the rest is "History."

Michael, You "Rocked Our World", helped "Heal The World", maybe now they will "Leave you Alone."

Rest in eternal peace.

Absolutely unbelievable. I'm glad the sick twisted scum bag is gone. Children of the world can sleep a little safer tonight knowing that one less child molesting piece of excrement is dead. Good riddance.

June 26, 2009

Michael Jackson symbolizes PERVERSION.  Perversion of talent.  Perversion of his fan's trust.  Perversion of the justice system.  Whatever talent he once possessed was overshadowed, for me, by his pedophilia.  The only good pedophile is a dead one.  As far as I'm concerned, Michael Jackson, the talented entertainer, died YEARS ago...yesterday's event was simply a formality.

I don't feel sorry for his "grieving fans".  You are the kind of enablers who allow these monsters access to children, time and time, again.  Disgusting.

And comparing this pervert to Elvis is a travesty.

I remember a man who when I was three or four years old inspired me to dance. I remember the man who cared so much for humanity that he helped those who were starving overseas and those whose homeland was being taken away. He used music to protest the evil he saw in the world including the destruction of the rain forests. He brought so many people of different cultures together through innovative music and dance that will because of him share a common culture. I am forever grateful to you and will never forget you, Micheal Jackson.

I want to first say Rest In Peace Michael Jackson.King Of Pop,I know he is looking down at us now. He see`s us crying, mad, and shocked. He wants his fans(us),to be happy.  He respected his fans and wanted to be perfect for us.Which I think was the reason for the nose jobs.He made wonderful music!!Which is really kind of strange. All the tv music shows we have like,BET,MTV,TRL,etc.,and they really havent been playing his music that often before. Now they have it everywhere! They have songs up there that I havent even heard of!Why play it all of a sudden? I mean I know Michael Jackson died r.i.p ,but I just think they should of been playing his music. His music ment something you know?It had a meaning, but BET,MTV,TRL,and ETC.seemed to push MichaelJackson to the side for a while. They have now music that have no sense playing on their shows! For example:"Swagg",and all these im sorry to say but retarted dances!?!?!.I hate to call this out but for another example "The Stanky Leg"?and the "Birdwalk"??Yes I am an African-American and I am proud, but that is crazy. It shouldnt take Michael Jackson being dead for everyone to all of a sudden to Praise him!He should of been getting credit and being respected  for his work!If they liked his music why didnt they been playing his music? The LORD is now with Michael Jackson. Please let him Rest In Peace. Thank You-

Alliyah.

I fondly remember, that when I was five I knew the entire dance to Thriller.  My step-father, who was abusive, macho and racist used to ask me to show off my dance skills to Thriller to his friends.  It seems odd, in hindsight, that Micheal Jackson was able to envoke this in my step-dad despite his surly nature.  That speaks volume to the magic of Micheal Jackson.

I'm deeply saddened by the passing of Michael Jackson. I know he is in God's hands now, and in that, I am comforted. I appreciate all of his contributions to the world during his lifetime. This is a deeply personal loss for me. Michael and his creativity has been an inspiration for me for most of my life. His music, talent has helped me cope with many challenges in my life. I've been comforted and encouraged many times by his songs. I am not taking this well at the moment, and for me, that's a big deal because after losing my father when I was 17, it was Michael's music that helped me heal from losing my dad. Michael's words hugged me when my dad was no longer able to.

I am shocked and saddened by the news much like the rest of the world. Michael Jackson has pretty much been my introduction to music..I was born in 1979 and I remember the first music I had ever heard was that of Michael. My parents had the old vinyl records and I recall Jackson 5 music playing in our houshold daily. Michael has always had the most loyal fan base...we supported him and stuck by him throughout his turbulant trials never believing that he was ever a child molester ever!!! His message of world peace and unity will live on forever and I think it is up to us to carry that message forward by "looking at the man in the mirror" and making that change!!!

Like most of the world I am deeply sadden and in total shock and don't want to believe the death of my generation's Elvis has left us. So many of us grew up watching Michael Jackson go through life and listening to his music. Til this day I still listen to his music so my children know who he is and know his music.

When I was 7 my older sister, younger brother, and I would make our room completely dark and play Thriller really loud to see which one of us would get scared. I always ended up hiding under my blanket. It was so funny to us cause when the song was over we were all too scared to open the blinds or turn on the lights.

My sister swore she was going to marry him! She even forged his autograph on a picture she had of him and had everyone believing he signed it.

About 10 years ago I saw him in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas at an art gallery shopping and it was so amazing to breathe the same air as him. It was like he was Royalty. All of the onlookers showed him so much respect. He was not treated like the media treats other celebrities.

I love you Man in the Mirror!!

May God rest his soul.

I am a struggling recording artist of 25 years.  There was two people that I always dreamed of meeting, one was Quincey Jones and the other was Micheal Jackson.  If he was still among the living I believe that he would tell me to continue to pursue my career.  He was my hope, my inspiration.  I bought a jacket like his that I had worn on my first album, his was red and mine was gray.  I already miss you Micheal.  Hold you head up Jackson family, God never makes a mistake.  Micheal is now stress free and he will continue to live in all of us through his music and his wide spread love for mankind. Thank you Micheal, I looked in the mirrior and I've changed my ways.  Just listen to his music if you really want to know what kind of man he really was.  It tells it all.  Just listen. PS He will never die in our hearts.

Had you told me two days ago that I would be somewhat saddened by the death of MJ I would of told you no way. But now I would say your right. I remember him in much of my childhood in the 80's and I guess that is where my sadness comes from with his death. Its like part of the child in me has lost something. Raise your hand if you ever did the moon walk across your moms kitchen floor in your socks as a child! I know I did.

Michael will really be missed. I pray the children who remember him as a loving person speaks up and truly tell the story as so many young and old celebreties has. Those who accused him of things that he was never found guilty of will never have a chance to say they are sorry. Michael was awards prove he was bigger than the Beetles, Elvis and others. Give the man his to Props. You would do it if he was these other people. The truth is the truth. I wish the world would at least admit the truth. He was a huge success.

My mom and I are big fans of Micheal Jackson.  My mom went to Carmel high school in Carmel IN and she went there in the 80s and that is when of course his # 1 hit thriller came out.  We thought that maybe he would do some shows in las vegas after he did the ones in London.  Apparently not. I have always wanted to live in the 80s because of him.  I dress 80s. I live 80s because I think that he is the one who made the 80s the best decade of the 1900s.  I wasnt even born in the 80s.  I was born in 1996. When Micheal died I had just came in from a gator ride. That is a vehicle not a real alligator.  Just for your info. So I knew that he had been having trouble with his heart for the past hour but I did not know that he had died until I came in the house and my grandma is sitting in the family room watching CNN and she says "Micheal Jackson died."  I was shocked.  I could barely move.  Im thinking how could the best singer in the world just die like that.  He was to young to die. I still can not believe it.  So then I called my mom and asked her if she heard the news.  She said that she knew and that she does not believe them.  She said that he has to be alive.  She just could not believe it. I am in Fort Atkinson, Iowa right now and my real home is in Carmel,IN.  I have always been so honored to have the world famous pop star born in my home state.  I am so honored.  My Micheal Jackson rest in peace and not be forgotten.

I am deeply saddened by the lost of Michael Jackson. I have not cried yet, because I still can't believe it. I have been a fan since I was a young girl. When I was in middle school, I used to wear a shrine of Michael Jackson buttons on my shirt everyday to school! I also used to collect magazine articles and pictures of Michael in a scrapbook, and I still to this day have my Michael Jackson doll. I had the opportunity to attend the Jackson Victory Tour and see Michael in a solo appearance tour, both in Dallas, when I was in my early teens. I also remember watching the Jacksons animated series. He was also an awesome dancer, I love to watch his videos! Michael was such a talented person, with a sweet spirit, and he will be greatly missed. He will forever be the King of Pop.

Mj had the gift to bring the world together. Who else has that ability? No matter what, MJ always wanted to promote peace and love and he did it with his music. When listening to his music NOBODY is thinking of anything else but expecpt to bust a move and have a good time. Thats what he wanted and its such a sad loss becuase thier is no one else right now that can bring what he has brought.

My daughter was singing some song the other day in the van and at the end she sang: "Like Michael Jackson!" I loved Michael Jackson as an entertainer and for the good things he has done. I try to see the best in people and not trust the haters out there. I used to watch the Jackson 5 show and the cartoon as a child. How my daughter would sing that I don't know because I rarely listen to any music these days. It just shows how much he is a part of our lives.

I am from Calcutta, India, and grew up watching the famous moon-walker. On the other side of the globe he was as big an icon as he is here. I know for a fact that hundreds of young people would feel lost back in India. He was a cultural artefact, a symbol of a "liberation" movement. That's how powerful his moves were...

I found out of Michael's death from my thirteen year old daughter who is away on vacation, she called and left the message on our awnsering machine. When I heard the message I was shocked first to hear the news and second that my teenager daughter who did not grew up listening to Michael Jackson thought it was important enough to call home to talk about Michael Jackson. I called her back immediately, she expressed sadness but most importantly she was surprised to know he was 50 years old, her words -"wow he can dance!".

We spoke for a while about Michael's music, to my surprise she knew many of his songs, I shared stories growing up dancing to his music and how I thought I was cool because I was able to do the moon walk. My daughter and I have a great relationship but we do not discuss music, I am what she calls "old school"...not anymore. We just discovered we have Michael Jackson in common, who new?

The amazing power of Michael Jackson's music capable of bringing generations together. He will be very much misses but his music will go on...specialy in our home.

How did everything go so wrong?  I pray he will find peace and happiness with God.

Being a 14 year old girl, I know that my knowledge and love for Michael Jackson does not even compare to someone of my parents' age.  However, I write to prove even more the lengths that his music and talent have reached during his short lifetime.  Even as young children, the Jackson 5 cd was always playing in our car, and I remember singing along with my siblings. Since then, I have discovered his amazing talent for dance. Dance is a passion of my own, and seeing this man dance on stage in the videos is incredible. I know he will always be remembered and forever missed.

I am a 49 year old mother and grandmother who grew up with Michael Jackson. The first concert I went to at 10 years old, was the Jackson Five. I loved Michael Jackson. His God given talent surpassed all others. His music will live on. His family are in my prayers. As a mother, I can't help but wonder about his children? I can't imagine not fighting for my children, no matter the circumstances. The two oldest, the children of Debbie Rowe, what will happen to them? I can't imagine how rejected they feel after their mother basically sold them to their father. I wonder if she'll fight for them now? I pray that the media will remember his children!

Michael Jackson to me...was the only person in this world that could make me smile when I was the saddest. I always told my friends if you do not like Michael Jackson, then you will never have the soul to dance and appreciate music. I remember when I was in both grammar school and high school, my best friend and I, will always play the Michael Jackson videos i had collected. We worshipped him, he was what we would have our barbies dance to when we were little girls, and when we were becoming young women, he was all that played when we got ready to go out. Until this day we still hold Michael Jackson parties, and have sworn to teach our kids about his music. Yesterday half of me went with him. I am still shocked and hoping that this is just a dream. The only time I ever saw him live, was in the release of his Invincible album, I remember him standing outside to wave to his fans, and I felt this incredible wave of energy, it was like a Tsunami coming over. His energy, his talent, his music, is all that brought millions of people together. Michael you will always live within me, and though at the moment I am a broken girl due to your passing, I know that you are in a better place. I love you Forever. You will be the one and only King of Pop.

I love you Michael.

I can only hope he finds Peace He gave the world so much.(The song we are the world)in that he shown his humanity and what and how to love and share.  I can only wish and pray that he receives the  peace love and happiness that I don't believe he found on earth but offered. He will always be a part of my life. He was truly the Greatest Entertainer, he is an inspiration. My love and condolences go out to his family. My prayers are with them. I agree he was a good singer and dancer but I think he is being put on a pedestal that he does not deserve, everyone seems to have forgotton about all the child molestation charges...no he was never convicted but does that mean he was innocent? What was it he paid to the first accuser in an out of court settlement.......mmmmmm 24 million. Where is the justice ...... Don't  get me wrong I liked his music but maybe justice has been served and I also think an equal amount of time should be devoted to the death of Farrah Fawcett my prayers go out to her and her family.

Michael Jackson has always been my favourite singer i love him and his songs. It pains my heart to know that he's dead, but his songs are like blessings to my ears.

and i do not think that his parents should get his children, buttheir mother or even some one who will ensure that they enjoy their childhood sine mj clearly did not enjoy his and i thing he would be happy if his parent's did not get his children for they had the power and authority to let hin be a child and enjoy it. But it seems as if they were consumed by his fame and money, that they forgot about the most important thing in his life to be able to play and enjoy his self. And be that way he lived a childish life, he was just a lost boy trying to find the path to his childhood but the closer he got to it the farther it got from him.Imagine a child being trapped in an adult body no wonder why he got never land. But i know he is in a better place and God will take care of him. Since his parent's failed him buthis fans did not. I love mj.

I'm 22 years old and for most of my life Michael Jackson has been the inspiration for why I danced. I remember when my brother, sister, and I were younger we would try to be like the Jackson 5 and learn the dances entertaining guest. I can remember almost every video every song when I first saw it and what I was doing. It really breaks my heart to hear this. I keep changing the channel thinking maybe he'll comeback maybe it's a mistake, but in the back of my mind I know the truth. In my mind and my heart Michael Jackson was the greatest performer there will ever be I don't know who can compete with him and if there is I'll be an old lady by then. I am still in shock over the death of Micheal Jackson, our King of Pop. His musical greatness has brought together generations of familys and friends and will never stop. Yesterday after I broke the sad news to my mother, who is the same age as Michael and grew up listening to his music, she started to cry. Later on she told me " Now I know how my mother felt when Elvis died". He is and always be a true legend.

And may be if when he was a child at the recording studio and he saw the other children playing and wanted to join and got the chance to it would have made a big difference in his life and who so ever was responsible for ensuring that he got the chance of enjoying his childhood, they took that away from him and should be ashamed of them selves. I think than having never land was a symbol of him trying to say that since he did not enjoy his childhood the least he could do is let other children enjoy theirs and that is sweet and kind. As interactionist George herbert Mead and Herbert Blumer stated " The Play and Game stage are the two most important stages in a child's life." And i saw that Mj did not get to benefit from those two stages for he would not be asking "Have you seen my childhood?" And it hurts to know that he died sad. A peron can have all the money and friends in the world but that cannot replace the lost of their childhood and it had a negative impact on mj's life. I hope they let his children enjoy theirs, for mj would want them to.

I also grew up with the J5 and Michael. This is truly a very sad day. I always said I felt Michael was lonely. I can only imagine never being able to go anywhere or do anything without being hounded. Michael was (is) a very extraordinary human being and there are only a select few in that category and can touch so many lives,but... we must remember he was just a human being like the rest of us. Imperfect and just trying to find our peace and happiness in what turns out to be for all of us, a very short time on earth. He will be missed greatly.

Although i never meet him personally i feel very close to him as an artist, people think i crazy for crying for him,i simply am not crying for him ,im crying for the loss of the world.. Micheal jackson helped make what the world is today ,my soul is wrenched by his loss.--If the world only knew of my great talent and writting's "however" i do beleave when a person dies they know all spirits and souls, so there for i know and have faith that mr.Jackson now knows i exist. I couldn't sleep last night...I actually didn't go to bed until 4 am., because of the anxiety from hearing the news of Michael Jackson's death. I wrote this poem in his honor to show and share my deepest sympathy and my love for the artist. I first put this on my facebook page and sent this to my friends and family and they loved it. My cousin Lequin Rory Williams told me that I should put this on CNN, because it was so good and everyone would appreciate it. I tried to comment on the "Remembering Michael Jackson " media on here, but it kept saying error and I am not sure if it really went through, so I am putting it on here and I hope that you all would appreciate and agree with how I feel about this phenomenal blessing of a man that shared his gift with the world. I love him and will miss him. I have two huge memories of MJ, 1 is when he first performed Billie Jean live and first did the moon walk, did no one see that coming nor did we know what it was. I thought he actually flew across the stage, because he was so smooth and graceful. The second memory was when he performed "man in the mirror" at an award show, he was so passionate and he touched me and the audience in that place. I will never forget me, my family or the other celebs crying from that performance.

I love you MJ and finally you have rest and peace, because you couldn't quiet get it here on earth. You will always have a special place in my heart! : )

A warm hearted departure, for MJ..the king of pop!

Michael!!! MJ, I heard the news today.

You are no longer with us physically, but your memory is here to stay.

Michael, you touched us all, the entire nation

With a warm heart and a thrilling sensation.

Your courage’s smile and child like humor

You defeated them all, even the gossip and rumors.

Although changes occurred with the pigment of your skin. You never changed your heart or generosity within.

We thank you for your presences, grace, talent and beauty.

You always made the young girls smile and shake their booty’s

Thank you Michael for the thriller jackets, moon walk and glitter gloves.

You warmed our hearts and spirits full of love.

Thank you for the peace that you tried to give the world.

With your inspiring lyrics and your long Jerry curl.

We will miss saying "we love you" when you walk through the crowds,

and your soft loving voice of “I love you more” shout out loud.

We are sad, but happy of your home coming celebration. And we will never forget how Michael Jackson the king of pop rocked this nation.

I am at work seating paralyzed by Mikcheal’s death.

I heard of him being taken to the hospital from my husband and later my mother in-law called to tell my husband of Micheal’s death. I overheard them talking on the phone and part of me went numb. I had just gotten home from work and getting ready to make dinner – I couldn’t move. Something was stuck in my throat….fear of unknown kind sworm my body. I fought my tears so my kids would not see me.

We don’t have TV and we get our news online, so for  the rest of the night (after putting my kids to bed)  I glued my self on my lap top trying to get a different news-something that says he is alive, not confirmed or something else other than death. I cried and cried until the monitor disappeared from my vision. I later went to bed but could not  sleep.

Today I am at work seating in front of my computer paralyzed and unable to think or focus

I tried to talk my coworkers, but  they were not as big fun as I am  and some even were not nice about it – It didn’t help much to my grief so I kept in to myself scared to share my memories with anybody else.

I am going to ask my boss to be excused and will be leaving work and go home to my family for the rest of the day hug my husband and kids. I want to redirect my thoughts and feel and belive that Micheal is in a better place.  But I am very very very sad.

It has been a total "Thriller" to watch the "Man in the Mirror" who begged "Leave Me Alone". So many will "Scream" begging "Heaven to Wait" because "We Are the World" and want "One More Chance" to see you do your moonwalk. Your legacy is "Unbreakable" as you "Ease On Down the Road" you have left us "Speechless" as we all now "Come Together". "Don't Stop Until You Get Enough" as you "Fly Away".

I remember watching the Jackson Five on tv when I was just 2. I remember making Michael Jackson wallpaper in my room with all the album covers and posters I collected.  The Thriller cover was in the very center. And I remember winning backstage passes to see Michael on his Victory Tour in KC, MO  but I was only 12 and my mom wouldn't let me go so I put the tickets on the wall with everything else. I was looking forward to this tour because my husband promised to get backstage passes so I could finally meet him...

I feel like a little girl again. My heart is broken. Listening to You Are Not Alone and purchased the ringtone and Human Nature calltone.

We have all suffered a great loss in such a talented individual, and even though he had some faults as we all do, he had so much good in him and so much more to give.

Rest in peace, Sir Michael. You are greatly missed. I pray your soul finds peace and my sincerest condolences to your entire family.

I will miss having M.J. in our world, but his genius & music will live forever in my heart. He is now at peace after being mentally and emotionally tortued, degraded & bankrupted by accusations, law suits, jealousy, greedy citizens & professionals who benefited by administering drugs. I didn't blame him for seeking refuge in another country. In his depressed fragile state he needed support by loyal friends, family and spiritual couseling, not leeches to suck the life out of him. M.J. was an artistic inspiration. My children and I grew up loving every musical & eccentric gift he entertained the world with. As an artist I appreciated his personal quote, that "Art Is A Tribute To God." Than you Michael Jackson.  God bless you and your memory.

I want to send my condolences to MJ’s Family.  Much negativity is emphasized about his childhood especially his so called abusive father, but what is sadly overlooked is how his parents raised well mannered and HUMBLE children!  This was certainly evident in his demeanor and even his siblings’. Janet exudes humbleness! He NEVER acted like a person who deserved his fame.  In fact, his body of work showed that he strived to perfect his craft time and time again, raising the bar so high that there has not been an entertainer that has matched or surpassed him to this day!  My Jehovah be with his family, I know he is resting in peace!

His voice was a major uplifting part of my life. Michael to me was a tender soul that was forced to live in a world of his own. Michael's entertainment was overwhelming. He was a truly gifted musician. Sometimes the love a fan can be inadvertenly detrimental to a celebrity's life. You will be truly missed by this fan. Peace at last Michael! Peace at last!

King & Malcolm X did but through music. He gave hope to anybody wanting to do anything. That it didn't matter where you came from what you went through. You could do anything. Michael was driven, he was more than an legacy he was a great man. Some called him strange he was unique. What is strange is we didn't give him the props he truely deserved while he was here. He went home God took him from the suffering that the world put him through. God rest his soul, bless his children and family hearts.

I think that Michael Jackson can finally be at peace. I feel that through his life he was the most honest and caring person to ever walk the face of this earth. He did all he could to bring happiness to many children and their families. This is truly a sad day. I think that the parents that accused him of doing awful things to their children should be ashamed of theirselves. They know in their own hearts that he never touched those children and that they were only looking to make a dollar. They completly took advantage of his kindness. I hope he is finally at peace and can rest and really live the life that he so deserved to live.

my condolences to all, we have lost someone who has touched all of our lives in some way or the other, but especially to the Jackson family our prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time. In 1978 I had the opportunity to see the Jackson Five in my country (Trinidad) he was brilliant,Michael looked so happy when he performed you can tell that performing was something that he loved dearly. It's amazing how someone we have never met has such an impact on our lives. when you look at michael perform, oh boy!!!truely magical he was so light on his feet he looked like he was dancing on air.   we see a little of micheal in many artiste today they have taken something from michael whether its his tone or a dance move, they all have michael to thank for setting such high standards and for being a trendsetter, the legend (michael) has died, but his legacy will live on forever in our hearts and our minds. love you always michael.

M/js death was one of the biggest shocks to Meany people including myself…I like Meany did not know him personally but always felt a deep love for him and prayed that he would leave this world a Muslim. Yesterday I began to think why I felt so bad for someone I had never known an entertainer. then realized as far back as I could remember the first images of him I can recall are of walking through hospitals an beds filled with children thanking him for his contributions to their health and well being. He was the first star I can remember giving whole heartedly in vast amounts that is what drew me to him as a fan for life. “khoda wand “ blesses us with soooo Meany sighs n people to learn from throw out time truly for those who can see past his music ( which was just one of his talents) can tack example from his lavish life style n un doubtable loneliness  that he before anything ells was human. Just like us he too was a son to a women who once looked down at him in to his innocent eyes, a brother to 8 now heart Brocken siblings and a father  with dreams of raising his 3 lovely children like all of us he too was human. Let us all who understand pray to Allah to rest his soul in peace. Peace that no amount of money and fans could ever provide

Michael Jackson indeed the King of POP!

I come from the financial capital of India - Mumbai city

15 years ago, when I was a teen, I remember my dad getting me my first English Audio cassette it was 'THRILLER', listening to the songs I knew I have to watch the video, but back then we had no cable so no MTV, always wondered whose dancing?? and how is the dance for these songs..?

My dad then got me a VHS of 'THRILLER' thats when I first saw the legend MJ...

In India you would meet people who dont speak english or dont know whose Barrack Obama but they certainly do know whose Michael Jackson, that was the aura of this personality.

MJ was way beyond popular, he didnt need media, internet, youtube or any other  medium, his talent, work, performance reached out to all corners of the world. May he rest in peace.

He definitely touched a lot of hearts in India from the rich shaking a leg in a night club to a poor kid dancing on the streets.

I'm 12 years old and for me to be so young many would think I don't know anything about the late Micheal jackson but when I was younger I used to sit at the edge of my bed listeneing to his cd. It was the music i listened to to brighten my spirit and alsohave fun. I couldn't help but to dance. I absolutley love his moves. I was on my way home when my sister got a text from her friend saying Micheal jackson was dead it was like a family member dying. I went home to watch cnn and they showed him leaving the helicopter and getting in that white van my broke just broke apart because he was laying theere no moonwalk,no thriller nothing it came to me that it was the end of Micheal jackson "The King of Pop" the legend/icon and he was just so small i cried until the ocean dried up. But he wouldn't want all of us so sad he would want us to celebrate his life and that's just what i'll do so Micheal my prayers go out to your family and we love and miss you micheal.

I grew up just 35 min. away from Gary Ind. Michael saved my life, through his music & the strength he showed with his situation. He gave more to others than anyone. He remained sweet as a child...we all know why...SO?  That woman & her kids were PROVEN liars!  I am happy he is finally at peace in Heaven where he belongs....far from all the people that used him, lied to him, lied about him, & stole from him.  He was an angel on earth.  Now, he is an angel in Heaven.  Those of you who want to listen, still, to liars & thieves, will never deminish the love that the rest of us have for him.  AMEN

I am beside myself with sadness on this day.  I was at the T.B. Rays and Phillies game last nite when an elderly lady sitting next to me had said she had just heard that M.J. had passed away.  I told her it was probably a cruel rumor started to get P.R.  It wasn't until we were on our way home(@ 11 pm) when we were hearing all of his music on the radio, but nobody was saying what actually happened.  I cried the whole way home, and didn't know what really happened until around 1 am.  Needless to say I haven't slept much and I have been watching some of his music videos on MTV.

Music was always a way for me to escape as a child and it is a way I relax and live my life now, surrounded with all kinds of music.  I grew up listening to him and was lucky enough to see his "Thriller" concert, it was the coolest thing I can remember.  I will truly miss the idea that he would come back and relive the magic again.  Many things have been said about his life the past few years, things which we may never know the real truth about, but he does not deserve the beating that some are giving him in his death.  Yes, he is gone, as well as Farrah, and if nothing else at least remember what your family told you growing up, "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all".

I will truly miss him, and no matter what the cause of death, he has left a great void in the heart of music lovers every where.

Rest in peace, Michael.  And peace be with his family as well.

Let’s remember MJ greatest work he did for us, for the World

Here are some lyrics of his most inspirational music.  “Heal the World” “Men in the Mirror” and “We are the World”: Heal the world make it a better place for you and for me and the entire human race. There are people dying if you care enough for the living make a better place for you and for me…

I’m gonna make a change for once in my life it’s gonna feel real good, gonna make a difference, gonna make it right. I’m starting with the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways and no message could have been any clearer if you wanna to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and then make a CHANGE….

There comes a time, when we heed a certain call when the world must come together as one, there are people dying, and it’s time to lend a hand to life the greatest gift of all. We are the world, we are the children, we are the ones who make a brighter day so let’s start giving, were saving our own lives…

He was a true and real genius artist of all time… Peace and love for ever MJ

I am in shock of Michael Jackson's death. My Aunt told me of the news when she heard helicopters flying over her home in LA and I was in disbelief that one of my greatest childhood idols is no longer here. After I heard the news,I  ran out to get the very last copy of his Thriller album at the local store. It is strange doing such an act of getting music of a person I never met in person, but musically the music was his life. I can't help but smile when I hear his name because I am thinking he is planning that comeback in the recording studio.

From my experience of listening to Michael Jackson as a child and dedicated fan, I am proud of his accomplishments and gift he had as a musician and person. Whatever controversy surrounding his private life, I would  have to say we're all different and we all have our problems like any family out here. Michael has changed the face of this music industry and has inspired me to work hard for my goals of becoming an oil painter. I respect the privacy of his family privacy in this hard time and hopes his music will live on forever.

Rest in peace my brother, you will be deeply missed. Gone 2 soon...it is only temporary. My God bless you.

once in a lifetime do we get to see the perfection,

the emotion put into his music, his beautiful voice,

the power he had over millions of people

whom he captivated,

the famous moonwalk that drove us crazy,

his incredible dance moves, his whole persona.

Michael Jackson, an amazing artist and thats what i will remember him by. Yes you've herd so many rumors about this man. So what! Everyone expects so much more out of celebrities!

We all grew up with rumors and even started a few of them, and yet its his fault? All the videos you watch of celebrities their always getting asked about rumors. Michael Looked for the good in things, and people. He didn't expect more out of one certain person he thought of all as equal. As you remember Michael saying how as a child he didn't get to play at playgrounds or have much friendships. His dad took away that from him the privlige to have fun. If are parents did that to us we would scream and throw fits and say we hated them. Guess what he wasen't aloud to speak up. It was etheir to record music or go to school. I love  Michael for his Music his style of dance and the smile he puts on my face when i hear billy jean, and another thing you really need a 14 year kid tell you about rumors,,when we all lived through them, god where has everyones brain went ,,on vacation?

love always katie

"Is anybody happier because you passed this way?

Does anyone remember that you spoke to them today?

The da is almost over, and its trying times are through;

Is there anyone to utter a kindly word of you?

Did you give a cheerful greeting to the friend who came along,or a churling sort of Howdy , then vanish in the throng?

Were you selfish pure and simple, as you rushed along your way,

Or is someone mighty grateful for the deed you did today?

Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's

slipping fast, that you helped a single brother of the many that you passed? Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said?

Does the man whose hopes were fading now with courage

look ahead?

Did you waste the day or lose it,was it well or sorely spent?

Did you leave a kindness or a scar of discontent?

As you close your eyes in slumber do you think that God would say, "you have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today."  RIP MICHAEL JACKSON. YOU STILL LIVE ON

My heart goes out to his family and children. Sadly, I must say that I believe that Michael has finally found peace. He was a great entertainer, but in so many ways not meant for this world, as it is now. I do not, nor will I ever believe that he ever hurt a child. He himself was a 50 year old child. Here is a man that loved fairy tales, loved innocence, and had a pure heart. It was society that made him look like a child preditor. So many of us can not see people for what they truely are...If they are different, they are persecuted. Michael grew up loving Jehovah and knowing the truth. He knew how persecution worked in this system. I take comfort, and hope that his family does also in knowing that he will one day be ressurected to a new system where his gentle loving innocense, and kindness will be appreciated and he will be loved with open arms for who he is, not who he is (king of pop)Jehovah bless and keep you michael until the new system arrives.

I just wanted to give a shout out about the remebrance of the 1 & only Pop King MJ. My twins sisters and I have been listening to MJ music for 27 yrs everyday. Although I have never met MJ and I dont know him personal. It feels like we have a connection with him since we listen and followed him all these yrs. He is not only gifted, talented or an icon but an inspiritation to everyone all over the world (especially the less fortunate countries). I believe MJ was very compasionate, giving, supportative and non-judgemental of different races. He was always giving & supporting the less fortunate countries. Although our father "GOD" has brought him home he will never be forgotten. GOD Bless U Michael Jackson & your family, friends and fans!!

It's so sad that human kind can't see past Michael's differences, or see thru to his heart to know what he has done in his life was done of pure love and kindness. Michael had a gift not only for music and dancing, writing and performing but for helping those in need. He was a true humanitarian.

He has been accused, tried and convicted even though he was acquitted. I believe that the truth will prevail...but wouldn't it be wonderful if man kind didn't always think the worst in people? It's so hard to believe that he is even gone. He seemed larger than life, maybe because I saw his kindness, his true being, his gift. He will be missed dearly by most I think though.

I can only think of one other man who was persecuted for being different and he too paid a dear price. May you rest in peace Michael.

Despite of all the accusations about him, (when ur in the spotlight u become an easy target to be victimized in the blame game) I always had respect for him.   He has deeply inspired me from an early age of 4. I remember the days when my Dad, my brother and I would sit down and look at his videos and sometimes-even dance. I remember so vividly, when we went to get our first Michael Jackson album, on cassette (because that was the thing then) in one of the very few records store at that time in my country( Trinidad). He was one of my childhood heroes. In my opinion he has had the best music videos ever in history of music videos, and I always will look forward to watching them.  It will be felt in all countries as it is here in Trinidad. It’s a pity that society doesn’t appreciate these the goodside of these people when they are alive and now everyone is talking about him when he is dead. It’s a sad thing. No Rock star, pop star or hip-hop star can compare to this man and his influence is very obvious from his appearance to his lyrics. For me and I am sure for many people around the globe he is the biggest music icon ever.

This man was a prodigy.

Peace and Love MJ...

Every so often there’s a superstar in our midst who’s so deeply paradoxical and polarizing that they generate nearly equal parts of admiration and disgust.

Such was the case with Michael Jackson, the self-proclaimed King of Pop who died unexpectedly at the age of 50.

He was larger than life – a pop-culture icon and brilliant entertainer on par with Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and countless others who never had a chance to grow old in the public eye. His body of work speaks for itself. There’s no question he was a genius in music and dance. Sadly, he only felt comfortable on the stage performing in front of thousands of crazed fans or in the company of children, which is where his life took a disturbing and bizarre turn down a dark tunnel from which he never escaped.

There were stories of abuse he allegedly suffered as a child under an iron-fisted rule by his father, Joe, followed by a series of cosmetic surgeries that transformed a once dashing African-American boy into a disfigured man-child with Caucasian features whose child-molestation accusations, short-lived marriages, financial ruin and legal problems left him frail and reclusive. This dark side made Michael the object of both public curiosity and ridicule.

I was transfixed by the Jackson Five’s songs as a youth and felt a kinship to Michael because we were nearly the same age. It was shocking to see such a little boy with a big voice singing and performing with passion and maturity that were well beyond his years. His music played a prominent part on the soundtrack of my life. “I’ll be There” is one of my all-time favorite songs – one I love so much that I went out and bought a spectacular cover of that tune by Mariah Carey from her MTV Unplugged performance, even though I wasn’t much into her music at the time.

But I’ll never forget when he moonwalked his way into our hearts on March 25, 1983 during a rendition of  “Billie Jean” for a TV special celebrating Motown’s first 25 years, which some have said unofficially marked his transition from child star to an adult sensation. His performance was jaw-dropping. I never saw anything like it and thought he was gliding across the stage with the help of a hidden prop – not the power of his feet.

Just five days before his death, “Don’t Stop ‘til You Get Enough” immediately lured me onto the dance floor at a friend’s birthday party. I thought to myself afterward, ‘wow… what an amazing piece of music. In spite of all his troubles, this guy really knew how to write, sing and perform some unbelievable songs.’

Say what you will about Michael Jackson now that he’s gone. He was never convicted of child molestation, though he settled out of court the first time such charges became public and was acquitted following a legal circus on a second try to put him behind bars. The circumstantial evidence was damning, and for all I know, he could very well have been the monster that was portrayed by the prosecution in his trial. But at the end of the day, I wasn’t 100% sure what happened. It seemed there was enough reasonable doubt between his impassioned plea of innocence and childlike qualities that made many of us wonder whether he was simply guilty of naivete, poor judgment, asexuality or all of the above,

Love him or despise him, apparently, there’s no shortage of others who were as deeply moved by Michael Jackson’s talent as me.

What happened online around the time rumors were rampant across the Internet appears to have been unprecedented. Soon after TMZ broke the scoop, several “outages” were reported on the gossip Web site – a pattern that also occurred with Perez Hilton’s blog, Twitter and the Los Angeles Times, which was the first mainstream media outlet to confirm his death.

And there’s much more to report. Nearly 500 edits were made to Jackson’s Wikipedia profile in less than 24 hours, while CNN reported a fivefold rise in traffic involving an astounding 20 million page views within an hour of the news pulsing across cyberspace. AOL’s instant messenger service, which was down for about 40 minutes, issued a provocative statement which read: “Today was a seminal moment in Internet history. We’ve never seen anything like it in terms of scope or depth.”

The King of Pop was planning a comeback and rehearsed the night before his death for 50 London concerts that were to kick off July 13. It’s a shame we’ll never get to see and hear what he had up his infamous white-gloved sleeve, but at least we’re left with a lasting legacy of pure musical genius that will continue to brighten our lives.

I'm so saddened by Michael Jackson's untimely passing and my prayers go out to his family, children and friends.

I was fortunate to meet the Jackson 5 when I was a young girl when they played here in Las Vegas.  My father took me to see them--it remains one of my fondest memories of time spent with my father.  I sincerely hope everyone around the world will focus on Michaels contributions and the positive impacts he made.  Regardless of the news being reported, speculations, etc, he was a GREAT and FANOMIAL musician who deserves to REST IN PEACE.  We must remember he has children who are left behind and we OWE Michael our respect where they are concerned.  Thank you Michael for giving us a legacy of music that will live on forever!

Micheal Jackson was a great singer. Too bad he was a freak of nature. A black man who wanted to be a white woman. He was one of the most vulgar music artists of all time. I liked him better when he was still a black man. He was a good singer. But face it, he was a freak.

As I ponder over the loss of Michael Jackson, still in Shock and disbelief, I try to distinguish him into a certain group of immortals that will never be forgotten…

How will he be remembered and for how long? Will our generation’s influence be strong enough to carry over the impact he made in our society…

I only know what I feel and the influence he has on me. I will try to pass it on to my kids and hope that they pass it on to their kids, but once they stop talking about his life in the media and the impact wears on then that is where he may be forgotten…

Beyond being truly talented and a great entertainer, I believe he had the ability to unite the people on a universal level and express peace to all corners of the world…I see the way different cultures, races, and dignitaries from all over the world would respect him.

With that being said, I would consider him as prominent as a world leader or religious leader. I would go as far as to categorize him with a religious leader who spreads good and unity throughout the world and is recognized, respected and welcomed.

I know many won’t feel the same way I do and I respect that and others only see the negative stories that affected his image, but if given the chance, he would have done a lot of good for humanity.

He would express how he wanted to help the children around the world and was crucified for being to close to them…It’s all about how the media reacts and people that try to take advantage of him…Is it wrong to dedicate your life to a cause. People were either envious of him or didn’t understand him.

Michael Jackson did not deserve all the negative attacks he received. He was misunderstood and taken advantage of. We are all human and can only handle so much including the highest ranked dignitaries and legends…

Everyone needs a medium to express themselves to a wide scale and he used music to express peace, unity, and being there and helping one another…

I would petition Michael Jackson as a Saint of Peace and Unity….

Songs to remember :  Earth Song

Michael Jackson's death is an extreme loss to the music industry.  Some people may agree that he had an extreme impact on the way we perceive music and the choreography that goes along with it, however I'm SICKENED by the fact this has been a story on all the news outlets for practically 24 since his death.  There are American Soldiers here in Afghanistan and Iraq dieing on a daily basis, but those who've died and are currently dieing are just numbers when it comes to the broadcasting industry.  It's always "4 American Soldiers have died from an I.E.D explosion in Afghanistan" or "7 American Soldiers have died from a wounds suffered in a fire fight northwest of Baghdad."  The news never takes the time to recognize the Soldiers as a person it's always a number.  I bet if we were millionaires or famous we'd be featured in the headline news.  It just sickens me that I have fellow comrades getting killed in the name of the freedom we all enjoy, and when someone famous dies it's like "let's drop every other news headline and talk about some who's made millions of dollars"....WE ARE PEOPLE TOO!!!

Rocky - do you really think the news media is going to cover each and every soldier that is killed in the line of duty? I personally thank you and your comrads for your sevice to our country but my question to you is why can't we give Michael his rememberence? He dedicated 45 years of his life (and was beat by his father to perform by the way) to the entertainment industry and was persucuted for a lot of it in the media. I think the media owes him that much out of respect.

I think he is and always will be respected for what he did, but he never gave his life in defense to our country.  I'm not upset that the media has covered this story.  It's the fact it's been on for over a day now, but they don't take 10 minutes out of their news schedule to cover the fallen Soldiers.  The media should set a window of time to cover fallen military members.  To me and many here in Afghanistan it's being perceived that Michael Jackson is more important than us.  Just take 10-20 minutes out of the day and report on those who've died that day!  That's all!!!!

Michael Jackson's name  is one of the most simplistic names, but the power and meaning associated with it is anything but simple.  It feels like a nightmare that no one will wake up from.  No matter what  you thought about his personal life, or should I say what was portrayed in the media, it was the magnitude of what he did not only for music but for American culture is unimaginable.  We all listened and danced but never understood that his kindness, his generosity, his belief in people was understood and felt by people all over the world.  In the most remote corners of the world.  I would put money on the fact that if any of us traveled to any corner of the earth and said the name "Michael Jackson" no language barrier would mask the sadness felt by all.  Those who made fun of and tried to torment him never prevailed.  He knew at the core he was loved.  I pray that those who knew him and were in his life made sure he knew how much he was loved.  Those of you who mocked and chuckled at him I pray that the success you desire is never reached.  You will never know the success Michael knew.  God smiled on him and he smiled on us in return.  I pray Michael knew the Lord and accepted him as his Lord and Savior, so one day we will sit at the foot of the throne in Heaven, together.  May his mother, father, brothers, sisters and most of all his children find some peace in this dark hour.  Now is not a time of sadness it is a time of celebration, Michael did not relish in sadness he let his brilliance and light shine for all to see.  May God lift this heavy burden off of your heart and replace it with peace and happiness.

With all of my love,

Melissa Phillips, Kansas City, MO

Did anyone else pick up on the 911 call that the doctor was performing CPR incorrectly? As per the person that called 911, he said that Jackson was laying on the bed unresponsive, and when the dispatcher instructed caller on how to begin CPR the caller quickly noted that the doctor was already performing CPR. But CPR can not correctly be performed on a bed...anyone with an active CPR certification would know that the person should be laid on a hard surface to be able to give the proper compressions needed to pump the heart, did the doctor not remember that? And with all the money that Jackson was paying this private doctor, did he not have an AED available with him. Something that very well would have saved his life if used within minutes of the beginning of his cardiac arrest.

MJs personal doctor gave CPR on a BED. And it is noted that MJ was given an injection of demerol before he went into cardiac arrest and that MJ had a sort of reaction to the demerol. I see an impending wrongful death lawsuit against that doctor, because something isn't right. As a physician he should have known you don't give CPR on a BED, but on a flat HARD surface where the compressions actually have a chance to DO something.

As a mom, I find the worship of this pedophile disgusting. Yes he was talented in his early years. But later he turned into a dangerous and horrible child predator. One does not pay 20 million dollars to 'shut up' someone who has no case. Its frankly scary that soooo many people are willing to forget his pedophilia thanks to his wealth and fame. Kids have no chance when people like this are made heros.

I am very sadden by the loss of THE KING OF POP.  I was actually watching the sports channel when i over heard 2 guys discussing Michael Jackson's death however I didn't believe such a thing because the guys sounded a bit insensitive about the death.  When i turned too CNN they had it all over the screen that Michael Jackson was announced dead around 4:26pm.  I was heart broken I loved Michael Jackson I grew up to his music.

No matter what the media said about Michael Jackson, or what the courts accused Michael Jackson of doing I still loved him so very much and his music gave me chills. I never once believed the accusations against Michael.

He never preached hate, he never came out against the media aggressively, He was always kind hearted and soft spoken may God rest his soul.

Because of Michael Jackson, African American music was FINALLY played on radio, Tv, etc....

It is sad that we lost the joy and happiness of the King of Pop's music.

Michael Jackson's death is not the only sad part to the story, but the fact that after his death CNN and other television report stations have the nerve to bring back old memories of his lawsuits and horrible accusations of child molestation.  It is sickening that the media cannot give Michael a break. THE MAN IS DEAD. No one ever makes a big deal about homosexuals doing their thing, about prostitutes out on the streets selling themselves for pay or about bad presidents out making unjust war crimes.  But, because Michael Jackson was a multi billionaire, a pop star, THE KING OF POP, and African American, the media just cant seem to get over his bad memories.

Get over it Michael Jackson had a rough childhood actually he never really had a childhood.  So what if he loved children so much, so what if he slept in the same bed with other peoples children he had his reasons that doesn't make him a child molester.  There's alot of sick people in this world but unfortunately there's always fingers pointing towards African Americans especially famous successful African Americans.

Today we have a BLACK PRESIDENT so i think the world needs to wake up and grow up and realize that African Americans made history for us to and that Michael Jackson made history for the African American music artists, he gave them hope he have them belief that they could some day be like him and make their music popular world wide known.

CNN can be very sickening at times especially after death get over it leave Michael alone, get your facts together and know and believe he was not a child molester he was a good man and loved by many fans and family.

R.I.P Michael Jackson we love you and will always love you for who you were and what you made of yourself and your music will always live on even though you are no longer with us today.

God bless THE KING OF POP

I Morn and Celebrate with everyone that was touched at least once by MJ(which was the World).

To me we lived in a World of black and white before Michael came on the scene with Billy Jean & Thriller etc. He was THE Icon of the 80's- if yr 45-30 than you know- it was all about Mike. You wanted to dance like him - Sing like him -He defined video, visual & clothing style and dance style and set the tone there on out for what true Entertainment was considered to be.

No, I and proably many more moms, think he is NOT Moonwalking in Heaven. Pedophiles belong in hell. No matter how great a talent he was...and I do think he was... in the end he was a pedophile and a freak. Don't forget how he paid at least 2 women to manufacture babies for him so he could have his own chidren to do whatever he wanted with at home. He probably wanted them because he got tired of paying out millions to other families who sued him for getting too freaky with their kids. I am amazed that so many can be so blind and not call this guy what he was... a pervert.

I love MJ as much as the next person and I personally never bought into the ridiculous controversy about him. I just wonder about how since his death the coverage of the post-election protests in Iran have nearly disappeared. MJ is an icon and he will be missed but let's have some perspective. US news often lacks substance and only reports on what is most popular at the time, not what is most important.

I would like to know why did Michael Jackson wear bands around his right arm in a lot of his music videos.  I would also like to say that he was only 4 years younger than I am and the man had done a lot in his lifetime, why not just let him rest in peace there is nothing we can do and if drugs had anything to do with it then just try and keep this from happening again but please just let Michael and his family be in peace and treasure the time they had ith him.  God Bless

My prayers go out to the Jackson Family. I've been a fan of the Jackson's since I was a kid and I introduced their music to my kids.  One man Michael Jackson touched everyone around the world. But the thing that is most sad is that other countries embraced him as the icon that he is but our own country the United States did more harm to him than good.  They tore him down mentally with all the stories and allegations trying to taint his image.  The United States see that he was loved by the world it doesn't matter if he was black or white.  Now Leave him alone at peace!

I don’t understand people. Here is an adult male who sexually abused kids. Yet people consider him an idol? True Michael Jackson was found not guilty of committing any crime, but come on…OJ Simpson, Robert Blake, R Kelly..to name a few. Michael Jackson was a pedophile and he paid millions to those kids families for them to keep their mouths shut. What normal adult male would sleep with in bed with children who were not his? What if he slept in bed with your kids, would it change your opinion then?

I do not understand how people can overlook this issue. Take away his fame and money, if he were to face the same charges he would have been found guilty.

Come on people, look beyond his music, Michael Jackson was a pedophile.

I don't recall he was convicted except some of the opinion in the public but in court the jury didn't find him guilty correct?  He was a talent, he was not an ordinary guy.  Mortals don't know what really occured right?  There was a lot of monetary motive for people to accuse him.  No he didn't use Common Sense in certain dealings of his life but He has now met his maker and the Lord knows.  His debts will now be settled by the earnings from all the music people are down loading.  I hope he knows this somehow that all his debts will be paid.

Even in my short life, Michael Jackson has inspired my life and has motivated me to be ME no matter what anyone thinks... From the Jackson 5's 'I'll Be There' to Michael's sentimental 'Childhood', he has always been an uplifting image in my life... He's finally at rest after all of his stressful endeavors... So, atleast for now, let's give him his wish: PEACE... I LOVE YOU... MY WHOLE ENTIRE FAMILY DOES!!! Your music will still forever live on! My name isn't Billie Jean, but you are THE ONE who will even get the chance to inspire my children's lives... and they're not even close to being conceived... YOU ARE SOMETHING SPECIAL!!! LOVE YOU, ENTERTAINER!!!

I grew up with the Jackson 5 and Micheal Jackson. Growing up in the 60s and 70s were quite interesting. His music was uplifting and always got you in the mood to dance. As a young girl I was not allowed to put his posters on my walls I had to place them behind my bedroom door. That didn't stop me from gazing and dancing as young girls did back then.

He was a brilliant musical artist and I fear our last icon. He knew how to touch with his music, he grabbed your soul and lifted it quite high.

I send prayers to his children and family. Hold his essence and love close to your heart and shut out everything else.

God Bless those who mourn over the next few weeks. He will be missed but will live on forever in his music.

He was black. He was a successful black man who decided he wanted to be white. Don’t you think he’s a little pissed off? Don’t you think he was a little embarrassed when he watched the first black president get sworn in? His “skin disease” and unconfirmed cancer might be real and it might not, but he changed his body to not play up the characteristics of a normal black person. To him, it wasn’t about being white, it’s about being able to live in America with every possible advantage. And he thought being white was an advantage. What does that mean?

Look at Snoop Dogg. Snoop lived and grew up in the ghetto. He sold rocks because that’s what he had to do to survive. That’s damn near heroic in the right light, and romantic in any other. You think Snoop Dogg wants his kids to grow up like that? Of course not! Would you? He has trust funds and favors for his kids. Snoop had to hustle and steal to survive on the street, and the only thing his art let him realize is that rich white people hustle and steal in the courtroom. Laws, property, inheritance, copyrights and patents on music and art. These are the things that fortunes are won and lost on. Michael Jackson met Paul McCartney and Paul said “Michael! Invest in songs! Own the rights to the best music and you’ll always be rich!” Michael thought that was a great idea so he bought the entire Beatles catalogue. Michael was simultaneously acquiring the rights to and creating pop music that would define an era; only by owning those could he really be the “King of Pop. Where do the rights to that music go now that the King of Pop is dead? Realize that this is a fortune  floating around in entertainment world, and there will be a whole subset of people who are rich just because they were affiliated with Michael in a frivolous way. A lawyer with a briefcase can steal more money than a whole army with guns.

We grew up together and I will always cherish the days my friends and I would get on the bus on 5th Ave.to go to your house and watch you and your brothers sing and dance. I use to live at 412 Durbin St.Gary,IN and was born in 1957. In my heart I will always remember you as a very sweet and loving friend. When you and your brothers became the Jackson 5 all of Gary Indiana was so proud of yous, especially for those of us that were your childhood friends and use to hang out with you. I use to go to West Side High School on 9th and Gerry and in 1969 when the Jackson 5 was going to do their first real huge concert, my school actually set up a field trip so that we could go see yous perform live in Chicago,IL. at what use to be, back in the day, The Amphitheater. Diana Ross would introduce yous and the audience went crazy! I feel blessed to have known you personally because even with all the ups and downs that would come during your career, I knew that the sweet loving little boy i use to hang around with was still the real you in your heart. I cry as i write this because it's so shocking that you've passed, but at the same time I'm greatful to the Lord that you are no longer in pain and now rest in peace. I pray to the Lord that you will be brought back home to Gary, IN. and buried here because this is where it all started. My prayers go out to your family and children. May u rest in peace. Amen. I will always love you and remember you. Your friend through eternity, Alice

I was in Las Vegas one night, east side of town I think on Pecos Road, nice area. Probably around at least 13 but could have been up to 18 years ago.  There was a big black stretch limo parked outside in the no-parking zone along the curb of an Albertson's. In Vegas, that wouldn't be too unusual. I was there buying groceries at about 1:30 in the morning..they are open 24 hours and it is much cooler late at night to go grocery shopping.  I start getting milk, and notice Michael Jackson, gloves and all and sunglasses for some reason, which might have been up on his brow, kind of bent over a little bit and picking through the Yogurt selection. He didn't look up or to the side. I just left him alone - I was kind of in shock. I went on my business not wanting to disturb him. He was kind of a little guy. I thought for a second it might be an impersonator, but no impersonator would have had that giant of a limo outside...which looked like a personal limo - i don't recall seeing the licensing markings on it  - which it woud have had if it was for hire.  It is not too unusual to see stars casually in Vegas if you live there long enough.

I loved Michael Jackson. He was a true honest person who always gave love and spoke truth. In every interview he did he always exhibit love and showed care for people. Nobody on this planted except for Jesus could truly relate to how Michael felt inside. I am totally confident and convinced that God, who gave us Michael Jackson, called him up to heaven so that the king of pop can sing and give praise to the King of glory. My father, who owned a limo service, was fortunate enough to drive Michael Jackson in the late 70's. His 1st thrill was the Beatles arriving in U.S 2nd time. Though the massive crowds were, as we've seen on documentaries for the Beatles, totally out of control, the day my dad drove MJ he had quite an experience. He literally had to 'hide' MJ at a friends garage in midtown to get away from the crowds. Michael was able to eat, play cards and really enjoyed that stay. Prior to this memorable day, my brother unfortunately was in a car accident a few weeks before. My dad, spending a few hours with him told Michael Jackson what had happened. MJ asked my dad if he can call him at home. He just got out of the hospital and was a huge fan. I at the time age 15, answered the phone and hung up on him thinking it was a prank. What a fool I felt like when he and my dad called back! We will always remember him being kind. For the few seconds I spoke to him I recall a sweetness in his voice. I remember being nervous saying how sorry I was to have hung up and that both my dad and brother's name are Michael too. Mr. Jackson sent my dad back with a feel better letter..thank god you're alive to my brother along with his autograph. Unfortunately this was stolen from my brother in the early 80's and never saw it again. What remains though is his warm nature. We've seen it. The world as seen it. May he finally rest in peace.

I don't feel Michael is gone for his music will live forever.  I remember The Victory Tour.  I was so excited it was my chance to camp out overnight for tickets.  My friends and I got our sleeping bags and our ticket money together and I was ready.  With all my enthusiasm told my older brother my friends and I were camping out all night to get Michael Jackson tickets.

My brother smiled sweetly and said “give me your money and give me your friends money too, girls don’t have any business sleeping outside you don’t know what could happen”.  Well that’s my big brother.  And I thank God for him.  He’s kept me out of mounds of trouble.  The same brother who drove from the University of Georgia (Athens, GA) to Jacksonville, FL in the pouring rain to see The Jackson’s Victory Tour.  Though it was raining and showing no signs of stopping we kept going.  Miraculously show time and the clouds rolled away.  What a show!  I remember seeing Janet and Katherine Jackson in their seats watching the show.  We were close enough for me to boast we were on the same row as Mrs. Jackson.

Later the Victory Tour added another date.  The city was Atlanta, Georgia.  We did the happy dance.  My mom was added to our group and we were ready for the show.  The entire carload who saw the show the first time plus mom.  The show started and everyone was up on their feet dancing, singing and yelling.  I couldn’t believe I was seeing my mom standing on the chair dancing and enjoying the show.  Of course her first words were “Aren’t these people going to sit down”.  What a show, what a show.  There was so much positive energy, good feelings and general happiness.  For the time of the concert it didn’t seem anyone had a care in the world.  I’ve been to many concerts and been in a number of large crowds but during Michael’s time when his star was shinning brightest there was nothing like it.

Michael Jackson inspired my two sons to

explore the music and entertainment world when they where 7 and 8 years old. They use to have concerts in our

garage. We will miss him but we will never forget the lessons learned from

him.

There are 2 questions I would like to ask, 1. What drove him into isolation?

2. If he could bring people together

for great songs and acts of humanity why can't the people now come together and honor him and his work by carrying on his concerts as a tribute to a life well live.  That's the kind of Love he

showed us.

It makes me so happy to see the outpour of love for Michael. He was a true humanitarian and I believe the closest thing to pure mankind we have ever seen.  He was so widely misunderstood, but I understood him perfectly.

What hurts is that there are still so many, even after his death calling him a child molester. There was never any evidence only allegations. Think about it..if your child was molested would you really accept money to not go to court and have the molester put away for life? And if you would, what kind of human and parent does that make you? or at least try to put him away? No, the normal human would not accept any amount of money to make it go away.

Even if I were living in the ghetto and poor, I wouldn't accept hush money if my child was hurt and would spend the rest of his life dealing with that. So for all you accusers out there...read the case, do more research before you are so quick to judge. Unless you are the kind of person that believe everything you hear without factual evidence.

God will judge Michael for any skelatons in his closet.

When you die, do you want people to remember you for your skelatons or the good you have in you?

Every single news agency had cars rushing past me doing a hundred miles an hour as I was driving on Wilshire Blvd yesterday in West Los Angeles. I knew where they were trying to get to. UCLA Medical center where Michael Jackson had just been pronounced dead.

As I drove to the gym thinking to myself what Michael Jackson meant to me, I enjoyed a lovely variety of MJ music on any radio station that I would tune in to. I'm starting with the man in the Mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways.... I love that song.

As I arrive at the gym, I realize that this man has affected more lives in his 50 years than most of us ever will if we lived 20 life times. But then I think of his last interview. An interview where he kept mentioning the point of how he was beaten and emotionally abused by his father at a young age. How he was forced to practice when the rest of the family got to play. How his nickname from his father was "big nose". How he would be beat by his father with whips and hangers.

And yet we all wonder why as a grown man this guy was playing with kids. MAYBE because he never had a childhood. MAYBE because he is a memory of our childhood and yet he can't remember his own. MAYBE because he tried to live his childhood through those childred by letting them have what he never did. As we all grow up, we have two directions to go to in life. TWO. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no middle ground.

ONE = we become exactly as our parents were as we were raised. If they hit us, we hit our kids. if they were nice to us, we are nice to our kids.

TWO = we become the exact opposite. if our parents hit us, we decide we will never do that to our kids our spouses. If they were too nice, we become rebellious and sometimes forget where we came from.

Why is it so hard to understand why he was the way he was. He liked to make people happy. The low life parents of kids who couldn't take care of themselves, sent their kids over there to hang out and then when they saw the opportunity to make money, sued this guy and got "undisclosed" amounts of money. by the way, it's not undisclosed... IT WAS 20,000,000.00 that's 20 MILLION dollars.

In a society where if a guy taps the back of your car, we run to our jewish attorney, and our Iraninan chiropractor because they bring us the most amount of money back.. MAYBE even 10 grand, why is it so hard to believe that 20 Million is a VERY good reason to make up a lie?

NOW, it has not even been 24 hours and all the news channels have gone from "Michael Jackson...An Icon Lost" to "Michael Jackson...An Icon on Prescription drugs, and in debt for 400 mill, and his kids are going to be screwed". NICE. The sad part is this is what sells.

A week from now, we will all be here wondering if it's Demerol or Oxy-Cotton that killed him. DOES it matter? If he was being enabled by vulture doctors who get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to give him prescribed medications, why are we thinking less of him? The first time you are caught doing drugs, or alcohol or smoking by your parents, DIDN'T they ask you where you got it from? We should be looking at who these bastards were that profitted from this and less at what MJ's short commings in life were.

If you want to find out why he tood what he took just look at yourself in the mirror. You were the one that bought the papers that read "WACKO JACKO". We were the ones that convicted him even though he was cleared TWICE.

And now in death, everyone sits here and talks about what MJ meant to them. Let me tell you what he did for me. He gave me music. Peace of mind. Music that I can listen to, relate to, and escape to from reality. He made videos that made me record them and then watch them in slow motion to see how the hell he can lean like that or moon walk like that. That's what he did. I don't care if he had personal problems. WE ALL DO. Difference is the world doesn't watch us and laugh at us everytime we fall. We simply shrug it off, look around to see if someone saw us fall, and carry on. IF someone saw it, we do a little shuffle and pretend like we meant to do it.

SO, in closing, let me just say, let the man rest in peace. YOU WOULD NOT LIKE IT IF YOUR CLOSE FAMILY MEMBER PASSED AWAY AND THE WHOLE WORLD WATCHED AND PICKED APART ALL THEIR SHORT FALLS. You would want them to be remembered for who they were. AN ICON.............

DISCLAIMER____ do not take this note as a bashing session on the media. FAR from it. The media is only fueled by the public demand. It's meant as a note to self reflect.

I must agree with the person who said that Michael Jackson is bigger than God. Not to say he is better or more powerful, but is more followed, loved, and acknowledged.  First of all, this world has proven incapable of putting aside our differences and working as one to fight hunger, or poverty, or pollution, or AIDS, or terrorism, as Michael urged us all to do, to unify as one HUMAN race regardless of race religion or other, to solve our common problems, yet we can all come together in our love for Michael Jackson and to mourn him as one unified sorrowful force. There is no religion in this world with unified members that can come together in the numbers that Michael Jackson fans have continued to over the decades. He is the most recognized name, face, figure in the history of the world, only after Jesus Christ himself. He has continued to send a message of love and compassion, to give of himself, and to love those who persecuted him and to pray for them. He worked to live by Jesus’ example and to be an example for his fans to the best of his ability, although no one is perfect, he used his money (he gave over 300 million of his OWN personal money to charity in his lifetime) and power to change the lives of millions. I know many people personally who would not be alive today had it not been for Michael and his influence, myself included. There is even an organized religion of over 100,000 people who believe that Michael is the messiah! I am a Christian (thanks to Michael’s influence as a child) and do not believe he is the messiah, but there are people who believe it whole heartedly because he truly tried to live a life that was acceptable to God. He was thankful for the many blessings he had received and tried to help others to have faith. I pray his message, vision, and purpose are not lost in the media lies and hate that many have created for him. His good deeds go widely unnoticed as he did not seek praise for his works. His great dream was a world children’s holiday where people show their respect and honor for children and childhood. I hope this dream will be realized in his memory. Michael was chosen by God to make a difference here, and I believe he did, in fact more than any one other person in history.  Oh and yeah he was also a talented entertainer… too bad that’s the only part most people will ever know. I pray he will find the peace in death that no one would allow him in life.

unwanted333... this is a tribute page not a hate page and just so you know Elvis was a drug addict, and Michael was found NOT GUILTY by a jury of his peers, and both the kids who accused him have publicly admitted to lying for money. Michael gave more money tpo charity than anyone in histrpy other than Oprah so he is a good person who should be remembered

After I have sat here and read alot of these posts, I am starting to get angry....if we all agree that he was this outstanding person....how did he get to the postion he was in? Do anyone of us really believe that he was capable of the allegation against him? I know me personaly, if I had the money and resources to facilitate a rehabilitation program for children I would. And if that child said to me they were afraid and they wanted to lay in bed with me....no second thoughts I would be right there. Where are those now that accussed him? Greed, greed. I hope you are all happy!

Michael Jackson was an amazing artist. He has done many great things in helping the underprivilaged and had great conviction in his causes. His childhood was an abuse that should be prosicuted. With that said, this man had an addiction,(I know first hand how it feels.)I was one of the few blessed, got treatment and have been clean and sober for 16 years.

Where were all of the so called great friends, family, loved ones? they still today denie his addiction.this does not help, it hurts him. The real man that wanted to help is Dr. Depok. He tried, knew the truth and confronted it. all the other so called friends just denied and enabled him. If anyone of them confronted him on his use of scripts or tried to help, not denie and ignore the problem. Our Great Michael Jackson would still be with us.it is a very sad day when your friends and family allow such self destructive behavior. It takes courage and tremendous Love for an intervention of this kind. That is yet to be seen! RIP Michael love forever

For Reza...your message here was so touching, thank you. I have many amazing memories over the past 40 years of watching and growing with Michael as well. Your words truly touched me.

For Medteacher...wow! Your post brought tears and you are exactly right. I believe that Michael was the closest thing to pure that we as humans will ever know outside of Jesus Christ. I couldn't agree with you more that he was CHOSEN by GOD to be who he was. Jesus as I recall didn't have an easy life either and he was the Mesiah.

I have had a lot of anger hearing people speak badly of him and believing the accusations that were made years ago but after reading your post, I am going to start praying for those. Michael did so much for the world, I still can't believe he's gone. Thank you for your words!

That is true, Michael's message has always been love without judgement. I am a better person because of his commitment to reciting the messages that we all need to live by. I would rather be made fun of listening to his messages of hope, joy and love than some hard rock message of drunk, sex and pain. You do the math, I doubt very much if any of these so called "trendy bands" would outshine this gentlemans legacy.I stand tall and proud to be a fan and committed follower of MJ!

I am committing myself to emulate his message of love and I hope to God that some day I can be as caring, loving and unafraid of unconditional love as he has shown to us. Anyone that has made fun of him should take a look at the man in the mirror; you have alot to learn. I am sorry that you all didn't get to know the really MJ.

Looks like Jesse Jackson is here to save the day, like the rest of the blood suckers who are accomplices to this tragic result. All he does is promote racism, while MJ broke down those walls long ago. I think there are going to be real people who really care to mae sure this doesn't happen again; and that MJ's "handlers" get charged with criminal negligence. Every doctor who didn't give him the help he needed will pay off MJ's debts and rot in jail.  RIP MJ

Michael Jackson, was the greatest of them all in my opinion my father think it was Elvis my Grand father think it was Little Richard, fats Domino, Chuck Berry, MJ James Brown.

MJ did a lot of good things for people around the world. Every race and colour love MJ. MJ was popular amongst Black, White, Yellow, Red peoples of the world. Before MJ, black musician wouldn't able to compete the best wasn't on top the laws of segregation also control the music industry.

African American, music was plagiarism.  Lost is the reality that rock `n' roll was actually born out of the belly of Black blues music and raised by Black artists in the 1950s in smoke-filled clubs along Beale Street in Memphis, 47th Street in Chicago and 125th Street in Harlem. In the end, White artists made the money, and White America was finally able to openly embrace and dance to the music, which they had long listened to on Black-formatted radio stations in the privacy of their homes. There were only a handful of White radio disc jockeys Freed on his late-night Moondog Show on WJW in Cleveland was one who dared to play songs by Black artists. For giving the real credit to Black artists, Freed was ridiculed by Whites and subjected to threats and harassment by the government.

By the way I am white and a British woman age 21, my grand-father told me, and he know everything about modern music that the Kings of Rock & Roll was Little Richard, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, and Bo Didley. Without these men Rock & Roll, would have NOT existed. Jazz, Rock Roll, Soul, Blues, are all African American music. In the 1980s Michael wasn't allowed on MTV segregation continue it was CBS Record (now sony music) that told MTV if Michael music wasn't played they would remove all their artist from they station and CBS said they will create a music station for themselves. This is why MTV, start playing MJ and for the first time in US history a black musician was given the same opportunity to compete and has we all know MJ out sold everyone 750 million world wide.  MJ is a decent kind man, people who still to this day believe in racism is the ones that make up lies about him.  They are upset that MJ, is so popular these same people believe in segregation.  MJ didn’t see colour and may of these hateful people hate what MJ, sang about unity of GOD Children.  Doesn’t matter if you are black or white and that the real truth.

i have been and always will be a michael jackson fan. i'm still in denial and could not believe that he is gone. i adored him with all of my heart since i was a kid. i remember staying up late to watch his interviews on tv, buying newspapers and magazines whenever he is in any of them and wishing that one day i will be able to see him in person performing on stage. now, that wish will never come true. i believe that he was a genuinely good human being, who desired to give happiness to everybody who looks up to him.  i will never stop listening to his music because i know that eventhough he's not physically here anymore, he will forever live in his legacy, his songs. i will miss him dearly, may he rest in peace!

I am still in total SHOCK! of the death of Michael Jackson he was an ICON! when I received the phone call from my brother, I told him stop playing a joke on me, it is impossible that he is dead, and than I started flipping thru the channels on TV and went online and could not believe IT!  Tears welled up in my eyes because I remember his music. I grew up with his music, I am 50 years old. And his music was what we danced to when I was growing up. I always dreamed of seeing him in concert, but never was able to get tickets. I always watched every show he ever made , even his cartoons. He was another ICON like ELVIS which was also my other IDOL!  He was a very misunderstood man that all he wanted was to do good in this ugly world . I don't  believe Michael ever harmed any child, because he was a child himself and he believed in all the children of the world regardless of race and color and now he is at peace and doesn't have to suffer anymore within himself. His family and fans are the ones that will miss him and suffer his loss.  May his children continue his legacy of such a great MAN, PERFORMER, ENTERTAINER,  ARTIST, SON,AND  FATHER !  May his family take comfort in knowing that he was loved by the whole NATION! I will always remember  him as that beautiful little boy that made me fall in love with his music.  REST IN PEACE MICHAEL YOU WILL BE MISSED! FOREVER AND ICON IN HISTORY!  WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER AND GOD BLESS YOU!

How do we do that, separate ourselves from everyone’s thinking, especially when you want to associate yourselves with someone else’s... while my heart weep for the death M J.  I weep for myself, because I think no one would ever understand your pain but you, no one really knows how you got to this moment…MJ I will remember you for your music, your passion and pain will always be part of your music I love so much.  Your life touched my life, and most of all I will remember your pain.  Your heart is forever at peace now, now more pain for you my friend and your legacy will live on in the hearts of me, and everyone else…

MJ you are an icon, you will always be the King of Pop, and the people who love your music also try to bring you down without really listening to you the man.  Now the impact of MJ the great legend passing brought the world to its knees in greave knowing that there will never be another to take your place, and who would want to replace MJ…not me

I remember working in the Mall when MJ was at his highest. For years people came dressed liked him in the mall & the store I worked in & always kept his stuff to sell. Too many memories of singing "Ill be there as a child" for me to share. I hope CNN will keep his memory going for we are the generation that listens to CNN, we are the generation that grew up with MJ. I know about pain, I think he was a icon, & anything mixed up is only a result of that from childhood on...If it was meds all I can say is shame on the helpers in his life for his dancing would give him legitimate reasons for being in pain & tolerance is a real problem for long term care but a real doctor knows how to help with this. He is a Legend and I feel blessed to have got the opportunaity to gain from his brillant artistic life. He will be missed and for those of us that grieve it does help to see coverage. Thanks CNN keep it up for the King of Pop, the Legend will live on forever in his Music.

When I was 7 I would lose myself to Michael Jackson's "Thriller," twirling around my  bedroom for hours, with my cat, a foul-tempered chihuahua and sometimes my brother playing the parts of other "zombies."

Michael's music brought light and energy to a dark childhood in rural North Carolina. But I guess I could have been in Africa, Paris, London or Tokyo.

These last days' pictures of people mourning Michael worldwide have reminded me of music's unifying power, and that true creativity outlives us all.

Artists like Michael will always carry more strength and sway than those in the world who must use force to get their power.

In his own life I hope he found at least a little of the joy he gave so many.

i would just like to say that it took 16 yrs. for all my 12 doctors to tell me i have fibromyalgia--treated by prescription meds. i have now thought deeply about the use of  these prescriptions, not only becauase of micael jackson but also anna nicloe smith. one doc of mine has told me that excersise and hot tubs helps just as much. so i now will no longer let the drugs control me, i will control the disease with other options. this should be a lesson not only to celebs, but to everyone in the world. we do not need meds for chronic pain, it will be difficult, but i have faith that others will head these very severe warnings. livelovelife forever

I am just very saddened with the way Michael has been handled! He was lonely in life and is lonely in death! no one rode in the helicoper with him or anything! its jut very sad that he was left in the care of “strangers” I have been stuck to the tv whatching CNN and have just been very unhappy with the way he has been cared for by his family! Something special should have taken place!! I know Michael would not have wanted an autopsy! he was toooo private for that! he had a probelm when they had to take a pic of his private area, when he was going through the trial series of events! its just sad!! i feel sooo sorry for him as he was a very giving person and loved everyone!!

Despite his contributions to charitable causes, Michael Jackson was a mere entertainer. Many people have died who contributed far more to the world through their actions in their chosen professions in science, politics, social activism (not least of which was Iran’s Neda) and yet they are not mourned nor their death covered to such an extent as was Michael Jackson’s. Sadly, the American news services, evidently driven by profits that in turn are driven by a disinterested public, abandons all other news in favor of covering Michael Jackson’s death. People – get over it!

I can’t help but think how conveniently Michael Jackson’s death plays into the hands of Ahmadinejad, Khamenei, et al who will use this lull in coverage of the fraudulent Iranian elections and the resulting protests, to complete their crackdown against their own people. Were I as much of a conspiracy theorist as those Iranian hardliners, I might even suggest that the Iranian secret service had Michael Jackson killed to divert attentions from themselves.

As a Canadian, I have watched America assist in Michael Jackson's self destruction over the past ten years. Now that he has passed everyone in America now reflects and realizes what an INCREDIBLE MAN he was??  This should have been emphasized throughout his career.  The love that has been poured out now should have occured while he was still with us - ESPECIALLY during the last ten years of his life when he needed us.  There is no doubt in my mind that if he knew the love that he had surrounding him at home (AMERICA) he would still be with us today and not turn to prescription drugs as an escape!  I believe that other countries (other than America) always realized what an honest, loving and wonderful person he was and they continuously supported him in good times and in bad ...where you (America) NEGLECTED him... I  hold AMERICA personally responsible for Michael's death. SHAME ON YOU AMERICA!!

Well every life is precious including Michael Jackson.. He will truly be missed because he made a big difference in this world.. regardless of what one person thinks of him, millions love him, that says something.  I wonder if each person could make a difference in life at even a fraction of what he did how much more wonderful a world we would have to live in.  I was watching his video "Leave me alone" and saw something interesting in it about him being frozen for 50 years, I am thinking about this and wondering.... was it prophetic.  He did die at 50 .. any comments out there on this?

Tribute to Michael Jackson

Written By Dillon

Today June 25th the world moan the lost of  a blessing

Today people are all crying and stressing

Today we have lost the king of pop

One of the greatest who was on his way back

Sold out shows with the expectation of an outstanding performance

Dynamic music mixed with love and romance

Classy dance moves

So slick it will make any flower bloom

We his fans are all crying tears of pain

Lord our lost is your gain

In the starry sky he dwells looking down on us

His success as an artiste is beyond the human ability to lust

We drown ourselves in his musical style

The way he catch our attention and take us for a musical ride

The black man who turned white

We saw him as Michael and not black or white

The prince of pop truly a blessing from above

Michael we embrace you with love

Like a candle in the wind you blew out

On this day we scream we shout

We shout Michael, Michael, we will forever love you

Your music, your style, your energy, everything about you

The boy inside the man

The man who some never fully understand

We your full blooded fans we saw you as a blessing

Lord be with us as we drown in the stressing

Michael Jackson and inspiration to dancers and artiste

A promoter of love and peace

A unique human being

Michael Jackson a man blessed with musical loving

To sing as though your in love with the lady call music

To sing as though you never wanna lose it

To sing as though you're making love

To sing as though you're sinking deeper than ever in love

To musically enter the room of love and advance stage by stage

To be passionate yet gentle, to be romantic and not weird or full of rage

To be the best lover you can be

To be the one man who can satisfy your lady

Today we lost the musical lover, the king of pop

Today we have lost  Sir Michael Jackson king of pop

We live not to forget so today we put that box of memories in a special place

We listen to his music and imagine his face

We see him on stage dancing with passion and love

We see him smiling as he sings and dance from up above

Every rain drop he calls a blessing as he touches our soul

When you look up connect the stars and Michael will be made whole

REST IN PEACE MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON

Michael Jackson burst onto the music scene like a million years ago.  I would like to think that then, it was a breeze to have your music aired on radio.  Not like nowadays, where only Clear Channel has the life-and-death grasp of the airwaves, which are supposed to be our patrimony.  Pray tell, how could it be so herculean just to have a few spins of your record?  Without payola, that is.  Michael, now that you are THERE, please be the patron of independent music artists, such as Elliott Yamin ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWttLKO6Ixc ).  They need your help in breaking the stranglehold of the leeches.

agree that Michael Jackson was one of the greatest performers of all time. However, I don't agree with many iof the comments that are coming from the community of fans and friends. I have seen and heard statements that say Michael broke barriers for Oprah and President Obama. Let's be for real! Michael Jackson was a great pop performer. Let's mourn him where he was his greatest. Let's not begin to attach other accomplishments to him. Let's not forget that he was an African American who changed his skin color, hair texture, and facial qalities (i.e. size of his nose). I believe he was a phenomenal pop performer, and he will truly be missed, but his life was just like the rest of ours minus the amount of money, and debt he amassed. Michael Jackson was a pivotal character in the music world. I understand he was one of the first on MTV, but he also wasn't playing Public Enemy's message either. There have been a great deal of TRUE trailblazers in the music world. There was Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Stevie Wonder whom still is producing great tracks. I believe we are celebrating a phenomena, and not a man. Who really knew Micahel? His humanitarian efforts were wonderful, but so are Bono's. Let's be for real!  If you really want to talk about strides for the Black community, let's talk about Medgar Evers, Frederick Douglas, and many other freedom fighters along the black trail. What do we call what they did? Every Black history month we need to oremember these greats, and make sure their history is known as much as some confused pop perfomer who has a past plagued with unanswered questions, and accusations of child molestation.

I was raised in a very racist community growing up in rural Alabama but it did not stop me from proudly displaying my MJ posters everywhere!! I remember being offered a hundred dollars in 1986 when I was 16, to take down my Michael Jackson posters by my step father. I refused, of course!!! When "Beat It" came out, I proudly wore my RED ZIPPER JACKET! I was the only one at my school to own one. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert too, during the VICTORY tour with his family. I cried almost the entire concert. I willl never forget him or the impact he had on my life. His music was the soundtrack of my life and it still brings me comfort today. He was a gift and will never be forgotten. I just pray he can see that now....

From one of your biggest fans!!

I love you, MICHAEL!!

Always,

Shannon

Michael was so much more than the "King of Pop".  He was a humanitarian that had a spirit that harmed no one.  He was such an innocent and loving soul.  It saddens me that the world had to come in and attack him during the last years of his life.  Think about how you would want to be remembered...Would you want the world listing off your sins after your passing?  He was found innocent so let's speak only of the good!

Debra: I remember when I first saw the video for "rock with you". I was just watched in amazement and thought he was a great dancer and cute too. As he evolved into this sensational performer, I also saw something was missing...he was alive on stage and I always hoped he had loved ones and friends around to lift him up. It is a shame that he is gone. I sat with my husband in silence just watching his videos and listening to his music. We have lost a wonderful person who can never be replaced. My heart goes out to his family who probably wished they could of done so many things different in this lifetime with him. My son keeps asking me questions about him and I just don't know where to start...My son is trying to dance to "beat it"...I laugh because I already know the steps....Oh...this is such a sad time. I hope he is peace. It rained really hard yesterday. I like to think, it was him crying with astonishment of how he had a strange but still existing "comeback" which will last forever....Love you always...you will be missed. Part of my youth is gone and it feels really strange.

In 1971, while serving in the Air Force my mother had a massive heart attack and died.  She was 59 years old and was pretty much to herself.  To my knowledge she never listened to the Jackson Five, as I did.  But when I got home I found the 45 single “Never Can Say Goodbye” by the Jackson Five on the turn table in her Hi-Fi.  Besides being one of the greatest entertainers of all time, Michael Jackson was a kindred soul.  Beyond any doubt he was a genius, an icon, and a legend; but most of all he projected the epitome of kindness and love for his fellow man.  Those who love and believe in love will never forget him, and for me,  I will never say goodbye.

Not negating his talent, is it necessary to have to watch this 24/7??  We have a war going on, Iran is a hotbed, deaths of Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon, but we are supposed to obsess over a drug using, mentally unbalanced, pedofile????

im only 18 years old but i can proudly say that Michael and his music played a HUGE part in my life, and since hearing this horrible news i have yet to stop crying. in my opinion the only thing that could outshine his musical genious would be his heart, he was a kind hearted man in a hateful world, a beautiful man, inside and out. i'd like to think the only good to come out of his untimely passing, is that through all the new media and publicity, others who may not have had the chance before can now discover his unbelievable talent and outstanding compassion for others, and maybe now he can finally have the respect and peace he deserves.

i love you Michael, rip.

Michael Jackson is the first and only person in the world to teach others about how to love one another. He did it through his songs, dance, attitude and behaviour on stage. Also, he was senting a message to all over the world that it is okay to be who you are rather than somebody else. Example: poor or rich!!

Michael was a true icon.   we should all realize that money do not make people happy.  He worked hard and this is what people fell to realize.    Stress and depression is the number one killer.    Artist are human just as we are, they must be perfect at all times in the public eye.

God has removed him from this evil world and now he is in a better place. It was hard for him to be human because many did not allow him to be himself.    His music told the real story.   It is sad that a person must lose their soul in order for people to see and hear the truth.

Doctors should be held accountable for the death of a human being.   No one should be given pain medication unless they are in pain or really need it.
