Reminder: Volunteer day this Saturday! »

If you're making plans for this weekend, we hope you'll set aside an hour or two on Saturday to join in a volunteer activity. As part of our big What If? special, we're asking iReporters around the world to donate their time or money to a cause of their choice.

You can pick up trash, mentor a child, or help out at a soup kitchen – whatever you'd like! All you have to do is share photos and videos of your volunteer efforts.

Let us know what you plan to do on October 10 in the comments below, and if you’re on Facebook, feel free to RSVP to the volunteer event!

Built two new dog houses for a "bark-o-fest" fundraiser. Animals there are kept until homes are found (New Life Pet Adoption Center) in Marathon Wisconsin. Should be a fun event!

very cool! A good project because of many reasons. The good it does for a better world, and a personal challenging assignment to capture. How would someone record this? And many do this everyday and its a way of life. I like assignments that challenge us to become better at what we do. I get bored fast. So many things, no matter how small they are, do play a role in making the world just a little bit better. I know this, I see this everyday. Random acts of kindness does change lives. I think it can be as simple as a kind "hello".
