keep up with what's new and what's next
Follow along with iReport staffers as we build a new kind of news site.
Imagine if you were putting out full Webcasts every day in
addition to working part-time at Macy's and carving out a little
time to be a piano constructor. That's everyday life for
WCNreporter,
one of the hardest-working people in the business. At the time of
writing, he has already submitted 66 iReports. We expect that
number to be outdated pretty soon.
The Virginia Beach, Virginia, resident sent in
questions for Sens.
Hillary Clinton and
Barack Obama.
The Clinton question was used in a "Situation Room" interview. He's
also commented on
rebate checks,
the
rising cost of
food and
severe weather in
his area.
Roller coasters
and
amusement parks
round out the diverse topics he covers. Do you have a story to
tell? Scour our
assignment
desk and send us your own photos and video.
When we first saw
yosubkim, he
sent a video
describing his
mother with one simple word: perpendicular. His response was
perplexing, and certainly not expected. That was the first of
several great videos illustrating his unique perceptions of current
issues and events. Most recently, he's discussed
global gas
prices and his
notebook of
personal goals.
Take a look at his videos. You can do it, too. If your
computer has a built-in camera, being an iReporter is as simple as
clicking a button, saying a few words and making a quick upload at
iReport.com. Take a second and
send
your video response. It's a great way to share your views.
Making little reminders to yourself on paper is a common
organizational activity, and you've probably made plenty of to-do
lists and impromptu sketches. We want to
see
your notes and hear your stories about them.
If you keep a notebook with you, show us your favorite page.
Make a video about your scribblings, or take a picture of your
favorite note and tell us the story behind it.
Share your notes on iReport.com.
iReporters continue to astonish us with their fantastic
photography skills and sensitive news noses, and lately we've seen
some great shows of creativity on the site too. Check out
this awesome
example of a
time-lapse
video. iReporter
historylover
sped up a video of herself making art with Fruit Loops. She says it
she worked four hours a day for a week to make her masterpiece!
KenCC used
digital photo editing to represent
what it sometimes
feels like being a parent. Ken says it's "my first try at
digital editing."
DRSPIEGEL1
used his photography skills and some good timing to get
these shots of
beautiful bird eggs
before
and after hatching. What a great representation of springtime.
Every Friday we invite you to flex your creative muscle with
our "Fun on Friday" solicitations. Be sure to check back in at our
assignment
desk tomorrow to see what challenge we offer next.
iReport.com is expanding as each day of news and reader
commentary passes by, and we're welcoming tons of new users to the
site. Some of our newest contributors are sharing really awesome
stories and we want to take a moment and recognize them.
An outstanding iReporter by the name of
brettbum sent
us amazing video he shot near the Colorado River resort community
of Laughlin, Nevada, while
mitchthrower
documented a shark attack near Solana Beach, California. And don't
forget
BDrenning,
who showed us lights over the sky of Phoenix, Arizona, as well as
cute baby chicks. iReporter
sankofa1867
spoke up about Sen. Barack Obama and
aumaster, has
documented aspects of life in Flagstaff, Arizona. Finally,
matthewmilam
submitted videos about cyberbullying and the Sean Bell verdict.
This Friday, we have a project for you that we're really excited
about. We want to see your before and after photos. We've gotten a
few inklings of your before and after potential before. Check out
these
photos of users of the original C64 computer, or
this
audio slideshow of an iReporter remembering Coney Island
through the years.
Get straight to the point of the before and after. Send us
two photos, one before a change, one after, and let us know what
we're looking at. Everything from haircuts to history in the
making, we want to see it all.
Are the Democrats
coming down
with a case of hoof-in-mouth syndrome? The tense battle for the
party's presidential nomination has inspired a number of cartoons
posted on iReport.com. What do you think? Check out
these
cartoons and
post a comment to share your thoughts, or
draw
your own conclusion.
So, you're walking into the kitchen and lo and behold, a
bunch of bananas looks just like a mouth. Saucepan lids? Perfect
eyes. You've got to tell someone about this face you're seeing.
Time to send an iReport!
MikeMiller did.
Whether you've got a case of
cannibal
lizards or a
cat that sits on
eggs, we want to see your offbeat images. We even have an
ongoing series of robots and zombies (and presumably robotic
zombies) performing for us on a regular basis courtesy of
castvee8.
These aren't the biggest headlines of the day, but you can't stop
looking at them. You probably see plenty of funny things from time
to time. Next time, send us a photo or video.
Hi gang, your iReports continue to amaze and inspire. Today we're
continuing our "Fun on Friday" project, where we ask you to take
part in a creative assignment.
This week, we want to see the amazing places you've been.
Surely you've traveled some place cool. We want to see it -- just
for fun!
Share
your amazing journeys with iReport.com.
That's exactly what I wondered when we began asking iReporters for
pictures and videos of man caves -- a testosterone-filled space
that men can claim as their own. We soon received a big response
and I learned that no man cave is alike.
One submission in particular caught my eye. iReporter
kmac1967 not
only took photos of his man cave, he also
gave a guided tour
of his tropical oasis. The video captures the viewer's
attention and really captures the essence of a true man cave.
So, if you have a man cave,
let
us see it! Do you have pictures of your man cave in progress? A
funny video from the boys' poker night? Be creative and have fun.
Thanks for being a founding member of the iReport.com community.
We're always up for trying something new -- and we'd like to
start something fun on Fridays.
Every week, we're going to ask you to take part in a creative
assignment. We promise to keep it fun and informative.
This week, we want to see your fun with
time-lapse
photography.
If you've ever captured a sun setting, snow piling up, a
flower growing -- whatever -- we hope you'll share your incredible
creations on iReport.com.

yours.
