Fashion Week in London is a big event in the Capital and
receives wide coverage from the media. This year there has also
been a Fashion Week in SL London, sponsored by the real life London
newspaper 'The Evening Standard', 'Virtually London (Lite)' and
'Platinum an 'in world' design store.

SL London is the mirror image of the real London. Debs
Regent, the owner of the sim, has painstakingly taken the trouble
to copy each building as closely as she can to its original, and
real life businesses are starting to open a virtual version of
their own companies within SL London.
In my capacity as Editor for Virtually London (Lite) (
http://www.virtuallylondonlite.co.uk/),
I have been covering the whole week of the virtual Fashion Week and
I can only praise Debs and her London team for working so hard to
pull it all off. The show has been a complete success with a full
sim each day of the week. The designers have also set up a group of
stalls opposite 'The Kensington' building, where the catwalk shows
have been held. You can see the designers' merchandise and there
are many free gifts to be had as well.
To open the show last Sunday, singer Mapoo Little performed
for an hour and the audience loved her. The first designer company
to take to the catwalk after Mapoo's performance was Platinum, with
their great range of skins. Each show was 15 minutes long and Terry
Lightfoot followed Platinum, with her beautiful Victorian outfits.
Top designer Leezu Baxter was next with her classy dresses and Kirk
Claymore (who together, with Maddox DuPont, own KMADD Enterprises)
finally took to the stage with some models from his very own MADD
Agency, who showed us a range of their own clothes styled by
themselves.
The excitement has been the same every night, with people
pouring into the sim to watch the shows, it's been very hard work
for the team, but so rewarding. SL London is becoming the Capital
of the Second Life grid, it has so much to offer, and you couldn't
meet a nicer bunch of people who run it. As SL Fashion week comes
to a close everyone can relax for a bit, but not for long, be sure
the next event is being planned already, as there is never a dull
moment in SL London.
