Ridgecrest Sandstorm
Rigecrest was plagued by yet another round of unusual weather early this afternoon, when it was hit by a windstorm with gusts nearing 50 mph. The high winds, combined with residual sand leftover from the July 20th flood, reduced visibility at times to less than 100'. The National Weather Service Office in Hanford, CA has issued a wind advisory for the Kern County mountains, desert, and the Indian Wells Valley which is expected to expire at 8 AM PDT Sunday.
