I've been working in the rebuilding of Galveston/Houston for the past week
October 5, 2008 | Galveston, Texas | Vetting explained
I got to Houston last week and immediately found work related to the recovery/rebuilding of Houston/Galveston.
After working for a few days in Houston, I made it to Galveston, where I was hired on the spot to begin doing demo/clean up work.
Houston looks fairly clean/close to being normal, while Galveston is a complete disaster zone (there are still boats sitting on the side of the highway, etc).
I've been commuting from Houston to Galveston for the past week, it takes an hour though so I've been trying, but to no avail, to find a place to live in Galv.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
