Updated: October 6th, 2008.

On September 27th, 2008 in Aventura, Florida several members of the Young Democrats Club in Miami, Florida rallied around the South Florida area in support of Barack Obama's bid for the presidency with their "Honk For Change".

Although the group was modest in size, they generated a huge amount of noise and support from people driving and walking by the event for hours on end.

Their main theme being 'McCain is more Bush', the members of this political youth club expressed their views and are hoping for a landslide in Florida. The economy is now the main concern for the residence of this state, especially considering the retirement community that took a huge financial hit these last 10 days or so.

Jeri Miller -- who helped organize the event and member of the Democratic campaign for Obama -- told me the large majority of those who came to the rally are they themselves too young to vote. Even so, they wanted to be part of the political and voting process and help others to get registered to vote. Whether Democrat, Republican or Independent, they are pushing to motivate people to register before the Oct 6th dealine in the State. "I guess you could say there's alot of people the pollsters aren't polling . Those people are coming out to vote this time and we're hoping for a major landslide here in Florida" she said.

Jeri and her group helped to organize 2 other events in Miami which were part of dozens more springing up all over South Florida, seemingly out of nowhere.

President of the Young Democrats Club -- Ale Klachko -- said she wanted to get involved because she has had enough of the last 8 years of Bush and the Republican Party and what they had done to the country. Although only 17 and unable to vote herself, Ale was a very impressive young lady. Informed, pationate and definitely excited, she left most here with a strong positive opinion of the entire group. "If I can't vote, I'm gonna have to make someone else vote" she said with a smile.

These two Obama supporters -- along with about a dozen or so more -- sure seemed to generate endless excitement from this community grass roots effort.
