Spielbergs new venture...
Legendary movie director Spielberg is moving on with a new venture
worth 1.5 billion dollars. This deal was made with India's ADA
Reliance group.Paramount made the announcment yesterday.
Spielberg directed movies like Jaws,E.T.,Raiders of the lost Arc.
The deal was finalized by David Geffen, co founder with Spielberg of Dreamworks. Geffen will not be joining the partnership.However many of his staff will be joining him they say.
It is reported that the CEO of the Reliance Group (Anil Ambani) is the worlds 6 richest man. (Forbes) Part of the financing is JP Morgan Chase who will provide up to700 million and Reliance will also put up an additional 550 million.Paramount also has the option to be part of the co_ financing and to co_distrubute films made by the new group.
Spielberg will continue to produce the franchise "Transformers" for Paramount, as well as colloborate on 3 additional movies, including the science fiction remake, "When Worlds Collide".
Spielberg is a great director,producer. I really enjoyed "Jaws".
