I agree with Campbell Brown. We need to cease with the ugliness and
get back to the crises at hand. I just recorded a new song that
speaks to this issue and it is called "Help Us Find Some Common
Ground" and wow, it really rocks!!! If you get a chance, give it a
listen at
www.broadjam.com/DougAdair.
I wrote this song for people everywhere but it was inspired
by the critical need in the United States to move away from the
extreme polarization that now exists and to direct our thinking
back toward middle ground. As we have seen, polarization leads to
paralization. We see the effects of this all too often with our
elected leaders and some people in the media. It's perfectly
appropriate to disagree. But, at some point, we have to stop
pointing fingers and making accusations, and find a way to move
forward. The concept of comprise is perfectly appropriate as well.
We cannot allow ourselves to become paralyzed. The message is this
--- don't support politicians and other people who are intent on
polarizing and paralyzing us. As history shows time and again, if
we focus on the commonalities which bind us together not only as
citizens, but as a people, we can put our differences aside, find
the strength we need to bend instead of breaking, and work together
to solve problems for the common good.

Verse
With the troubles at hand, feels like we're sinking
It's time to wake up and change our thinking
If we lose our way, everyone will pay
Chorus
Bring us back, bring us back to the middle
Lift us up, lift us up, don't drag us down
Give us strength, give us strength to bend a little
Help us find, help us find some common ground
Bridge
Let's put our differences aside
Start a new revolution
If we work side by side
We'll find the solution
Chorus
Bring us back, bring us back to the middle
Lift us up, lift us up, don't drag us down
Give us strength, give us strength to bend a little
Help us find, help us find some common ground
Break = Chorus
Verse
Just like fire, fire that's raging
No one can control these wars we're waging
There's no end in sight, how long must we fight?
