Obama shows his arrogance again.
Tom Brokaw and Hillary Clinton both have felt the brunt of
Obama's condescension.
Asked in the Obama-Clinton Democratic debate about her dearth
of "likability," Clinton said her feelings were hurt and
mock-heroically added that she would try to carry on regardless,
then generously conceding that Obama is very likable and "I don't
think I'm that bad."
At which point, Obama, yielding to some inexplicable impulse,
gave the other memorable unscripted moment of the New Hampshire
campaign - the gratuitous self-indicting aside: "You're likable
enough, Hillary." He said it looking down and with not a smile but
a smirk.
Once again, in tonight's Obama-McCain debate, Obama lets his
true arrogance slip through. After both candidates had refused to
adhere to the time limits set by Brokaw in the debate, Tom Brokaw
made a comical suggestion that he felt like he was just "hired
help."
In the same condescending manner, Obama turned to Tom Brokaw
and said:
"You're doing a fine job, Tom."
Once again, Obama was wearing the same condescending smirk
that he used on Hillary.
Middle-class voters in Pennsylvania received the same
treatment, when Obama pointed out to a group of his peers among the
San Francisco intelligentsia that the folks in Pennsylvania were
just "bitter Americans clinging to their guns and religion."
It is the height of conceit for a two-year Washington Senator
to express a belief in his own superiority to people of such
accomplishment as Hillary Clinton and Tom Brokaw. It is political
suicide to take the same tack with the American people.
He again said he would invade an ally against their will, in
Pakistan. Has everyone forgotten than Pakistan has nuclear bombs?
Obama's arrogance will be his downfall. Hopefully, he won't
have an opportunity to let his arrogance be the downfall of
America.
