I was pleased that issues took center stage and personal attacks were minimal from both candidates.

I listened carefully and concluded that Obama made a much better connection with listeners particularly women with his well structured responses which touched on the pulse of the issues.
McCain, who I have a great respect for, continued to defend past Republican policy on the war and on the economy. It rang hollow and lacked integrity. I question whether McCain personaly supports some positions as stated. He seems more interested in defending the Administration than talking straight to the American people.
I thought this late in the game McCain would have distanced himself from the disastrous Bush Administration. He hasn't.
I felt Obama won the debate hands down.
