Obama really drove home the point tonight that he is, in
fact, the American Dream.
He truly represents the plight of the average American Joe.
He was raised in pretty humble means with a single mother that
couldn't always make ends meet - sometimes having to rely on gov't
such as food stamps.
His mother died while fighting cancer and the insurance
companies - this is a sad situation that too many Americans face
day to day.
Most Americans, including my husband, have trouble with the
insurance companies based on his condition. It's horrible and it
threatens to ruin our family. I am so grateful that finally a
politician brought this issue to light. McCain has no idea what
we're going through. He has no idea how this affects us and our
families. He is simply too rich and too connected to ever know the
problems that plague my family just because my husband has an
illness and our fear that it will bankrupt us.
Obama had a single mother. Too many American women are single
mothers. He knows first hand the struggles of these women. McCain
doesn't know the first thing. And Palin doesn't either. She's had
Todd this whole time.. but even if she didn't, she receives, as a
resident of alaska, at least 2000 for each of them per year.
How could these people who either receive free money or are
rich already, understand the plight of the average American? The
only people that I see on this ticket that truly lived it are
Obama/Biden.
They know where they came from and the troubles we face every
day. They didn't have fancy admiral fathers to get them through
navy academey like McCain did when he was almost last in his class.
We didn't have beauty contests to pay our way though college like
Palin.
Sarah Palin is a part of a group of women back in Alaska that
calls themselves the "Elite 6". I know of no friend of mine that
could claim to be "elite".
That ticket of McCain/Palin does not represent the regular
Joe, The regular American.
