Mark Kingdon, the CEO of Linden Labs who goes by the name of M Linden in Second Life was interviewed by Lon Safko (Lon Sands) the coauthor of the Social Media Bible published by John Wiley & Sons, the most comprehensive book ever written on social media http://TheSocialMediaBible.com. Mark and Lon sat on wooden benches as the tall eucalyptus tress swayed in The Social Media Bible Garden (Pinastri/158/205/21) as they discussed how Second Life is used by individuals for socializing and meeting new people and how small and large businesses are using Second Life for meetings, educating their customers, and even prototyping products.
Mark shared his ideas about social media and how Second Life creates the ultimate "trusted network" with more than 1.2 million log-ins every 30 days, and "user generated content" with more than 2 billion user created items stored on the Linden Labs servers. Mark further explains how Fortune 500 Companies such as IBM uses Second Life to hold weekly meetings and how CIGNA Insurance Company uses Second Life to provide health information and other educational materials to their customers. Mark speaks about how Linden Labs is all about listening to their enterprise members and how they are working on new programs that will help companies monetize their in-world presence.

Mark and Lon even talked about the Paper Models, Inc., three-dimensional advertising crossover from Second Life To First Life and how Linden Labs is trying to promote SL/FL FL/SL crossover.
