World's oldest person honored for teaching

(Indianapolis,Indiana) Gov. Mitch Daniels had planned to present the Indiana Retired Teachers Association "Outstanding Retired Teacher Award" to Edna Parker, but she couldn't make it to the ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse. She recently broke her hip. She was honored with a video presentation of her award.
The event was part of the Indiana Retired Teachers Appreciation Day at the Indiana StateHouse.Parker is the world's oldest person at 115 she resides in a nursing home in Shelbyville, Indiana. Earlier this year the worlds tallest woman, Sandy Allen passed away, she resided at the same nursing home in Shelbyville as Edna.
