Wood Chip Mountain Fire!

Spontaneuos internal combustion caused a fire that erupted Thursday afternoon in a pile of wood chips at DG Energy Solution’s Fairhaven Power Plant, Eureka California. Responders included Calfire, which had planes and helicoptors in the air to help combat the blaze. Also fighting the huge wood chip fire was the local Samoa Volunteer Fire Department, which helped the company’s own crews in getting the fire under control. I spotted the smoke from the fire 8 miles away and drove straight over.
