Peacock of the Zoo Northwest Florida
October 10, 2008 | Pensacola, Florida | Vetting explained
I visited the Zoo Northwest Florida today. To check on how they were doing on gathering funds to stay open in these hard economic times. To be honest, I don't know how they do it. But somehow they manage to make it to the next week. I give Danyell Lantz all the credit. She has been working hard to keep the doors of our local zoo open. I only hope that somehow they will find a way to keep those doors open.
While I was waiting for Danyell, the executive director of the zoo, to finish with a local TV station in filming the news about the birth of their new hippo, (FYI the zoo has a new baby hipo in the house!!) I took a few snap shots of their peacock.
I have to say, I am very happy with what I got and I hope that you willl be as well.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
