My first car, '72 VW Super Beetle
October 15, 2008 | Murphy, North Carolina | Vetting explained
Since I was a kid, I wanted a Beetle. When I finally reached the age where it was time for me to think about getting a car, I started saving up by mowing lawns and doing outdoor chores for the older folks in my neighborhood.
I bought this bug for $1800 in 1999, and spent the next year doing body work, fixing the interior, and overhauling the engine. After all the hard work and a paint job, this is a car I truly proud of and hope to someday pass it on to my children.
