My First Car
October 16, 2008 | Chattanooga, Tennessee | Vetting explained
My first car was a 1968 Chevrolet Nova II that I purchased for $850 in 1975. I called it my "Little Deuce Coupe" because that was also my CB handle! My car was almost identical to the one in this photo. It was the same color, but mine had a black vinyl top and a nasty tear in the driver door about 4" long. I loved that car deeply and even though the windshield wipers stopped working one stormy morning driving to work, all the aftermarket goodies I added to it made it worthwhile. If it wasn't for a selfish ex-husband who convinced me to "trade it" for a Mustang Mach I, I would probably still have it and restored it as a show car.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
