My First Car
October 16, 2008 | Cranston, Rhode Island | Vetting explained
This is a 1931 Plymouth Convertible. I believe it was the first car with hydralic brakes. The girls loved it!
My father bought my car when I was sixteen years old. He paid $25.00 for it and $25.00 for a new top.
My mother was quite angry at my father as she didn't want me to have a car. I was painting it (with a brush) one afternoon and my mother told me to come in for lunch which I did. When I looked out the window there's mom painting the car.
When I went to take the road test for my drivers licence the Inspector was rather dubious about getting in the car. No sense of adventure. The car was ninteen years old at that point.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
