The New York Times reports "Barack Obama is using an advertising campaign of unrivaled scale and complexity to outadvertise John McCain nationwide by at least four to one," and undoubtably some of this is made possible by fundraisers -- such as this unique one held Friday, October 17 in Brooklyn, New York.

Titled "It's In the Cards: Tarot for Obama," the evening featured several of the fabled borough's tarot readers who donated their services for the event to usher in the Halloween -- and the election -- season.

It was held at Kris Waldherr Art and Words gallery. Waldherr, gallery owner and organizer of the event, explained: "I think this is the most important election in my lifetime, so I had to do something to help. Other members of the tarot community feel a similar urgency."

The fundraiser drew 40 supporters who were eager to find out what the future had in store for them. It raised over $1000.

Do these diviners know the outcome of the election? Maybe yes, maybe no. Or maybe they just weren't taking any chances with fate.
