I'm wondering what changes (if any) John McCain will be making to the nation's Medicaid/healthcare system to help states serve special needs children/families better? Being the parent of such a child and watching the system provide less care with more hoops to jump thru makes me hope change is in the air.

More and more families are using Medicaid as a crutch because they don't want to or can't find jobs with affordable healthcare. We need to implement a system designed specifically for disabled - not low income- children that will help families when insurance companies deny coverage.

I can't even get life insurance for my child because insurance companies refuse to provide policies. They tell me to pre-arrange his funeral. I am outraged by this. He's healthier than most kids his age. If I was offered a healthcare plan thru my insurance company (life and medical) we wouldn't have to depend on the government for this.
