This is our daughter Leonie (8). She's fighting with us to save the Delta Queen by spreading "Save the Delta Queen" buttons and telling everyone how much she loves this boat. That#s about all a little girl can do. She had her first cruise on the Delta Queen when she was just 1 year old and enjoyed it even then. The Delta Queen is the most important reason for us to travel from Germany to the US every year for vacation.

What can I tell her if Congress takes the Delta Queen away from her? How can I explain to her why she'll never be able to return to her beloved boat?

How can we rectify to destroy what is a piece of American history, a National Historic Landmark, on the same level as Mount Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty?

With all the financialproblame we're facing right not, let's not forget about our history, let's not focus on money only. This nation was not buit on money, it was built on individual freedom and the persuit of happyness. What's left when we do thing like the Congress is doing to the Delta Queen?

And after all, the Delta Queen is just asking for an exemption from a law that was made for ocean going vessels in 1966. She's not asking for even a single penny of taypayer's money!
