I HAVE carefully watched, listened and positioned.

I do not believe anything, anyone, any time. Personally, I prefer the chipmonk. He is honest in his gluttony, sincere in his efforts, and he KNOWS what preparedness means to his survival.

I did, however, VOTE. I encourage all US citizens to cast their ballots for SOMEBODY. I really dont give a good damn who you think is "best" for the job, best for our country, best for the future. But I do care that representative government is kept in place.

We have all become so galvanized to crisis, disaster and woe. We all expect the worse, demand the least, and are satisfied with the mediocrity of our political/judicial and social systems. But, in the end, it is the voice of the country, it is the heart-felt belief that we are righteous, courageous and generous that keeps us floating and rowing. But if, as in the past, we are represented by 30%, those who really do go vote, then why are we complaining about our representation?

I have, for the first time, voted absentee. I am in Montreal and cannot get to my district for the election day voting. With God willing and the postal services guarantee, my voice will be heard, my vote counted.

Please, Please go vote. Make your voice heard, make your mark on the ballot and tell the world that we DO CARE, we ARE INVOLVED, it DOES MATTER.

Collective intellegence would tell us that we are better for being collective, better for choosing fairly, better for remaining open to change.

I do not envy the nominee, the newly hired chief. He will have a very tough battle, a long row to hoe, a difficult journey.

BUT, if history proves again to be consistent, we will continue, we will survive and we will, with any good fortune, learn from our ways and clean up our act. The world will not be waiting for this, but if we do not clean our collective defications up, the world will quickly understand our stench and our Roman empire will look like New Orleans after the storm.
