I woke up at the first jolt and felt the ground rumble underneath my house. Then car security alarms started sounding simultaneously throughout Owensboro. The dogs ran into the kitchen underneath the cabinets as though they knew of the possibility of a windfall out of the pantry. The aftershock around 10:30 found me crouching down with my elementary students underneath desks. It was an interesting day.
