(London, UK) The University of East London creates history when the Students Union organises the first ever Concert for Autism in the East End, in aid of the autism charity, the UK Autism Foundation. The UEL Rocks 4 Autism will be staged in the Aqua Bar on the beautiful Docklands Campus of the University.
The concert has been organised by the UKAF Ambassador for Autism, Godwin Odusami, a prime mover who is creating awareness of autism in the University of East London.
Susan Price, the acting Vice Chancellor of the University of East London said; 'We are delighted to be hosting this splendid event in support of what is an ambitious and truly significant objective. We look forward to welcoming visitors.'
Ivan Corea of the UK Autism Foundation said: 'I am so delighted that the students of the University of East London are creating history in the East End with the UEL ROCKS 4 AUTISM Concert in aid of the UK Autism Foundation. UKAF wants to help children with autism in Tower Hamlets as well where some of the poorest children live - I urge students to support this event scheduled to be held in the Aqua Bar and I want to pay a warm tribute the UKAF Ambassador for Autism at the University of East London, Godwin Odusami who is creating so much awareness of autism on the campus. He has been a wonderful ambassador for the foundation.'
The young British guitar wizard Jon Sterry and his band will rock for autism together with top DJs. Sterry has been hailed as a real guitar hero and was referred to as a top guitarist by Virgin Radio. He will be supported by musicians Alan Enston, Alex Butters and Ash Gilbody.
The UK Autism Foundation's ' vision for autism' includes building the first ever state of the art Autism Centre in London and launching initiatives to help the poor.' There are over 500,000 people with autism in Britain. According to UK researchers 1 in 100 children is on the autism spectrum.
