Early Morning Quake
April 19, 2008 | Carbondale, Illinois | Vetting explained
I work third shift at an office that's essentially a big open buliding filled with cubicles. When we first felt the shaking, we thought it was thunder. But it just kept shaking, and somebody said, "Maybe it's an earthquake!" This was my first earthquake experience, so it didn't even cross my mind until someone said the word.
It went on for about 20 seconds. I remember seeing the hanging plants shaking in the air, and afterwards, all the framed posters on the wall were askew.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
