November 2, 2008 // 210 East 400 South

Salt Lake City Utah - Supporters of sexual equality gathered in the rain at the Salt Lake City Library for a candle light vigil raising awareness against Proposition 8.

Gavin and I (Fred) traveled down to Salt Lake City after hearing about the demonstration. We arrived to police barricades, local news vans, and hundreds of people in rain gear holding candles walking together around the library center carrying candles and signs in opposition to Proposition 8, an amendment intended to "preserve the traditional family unit".

The general feel for the evening was rainy but warm and cozy. The Salt Lake City Library created a weather break and a beautifully lit backdrop for gays and gay advocates to mingle and chat after a 45 minute march.
