WASILLA, Alaska - Like many of their citizen counterparts in the real, contiguous United States, the Palins voted early this morning in their hometown precinct, from which I'm told they can see Russia on a clear day. After quickly casting his ballot, Todd Palin, the man hoping to become the first male Vice Presidential spouse (assuming that Barbara Bush doesn't count as being a man), told a crowd of reporters and supporters, "Straight ticket as usual - go AIP!" Unfortunately for Mr. Palin, his wife, Sarah, is a Republican Party candidate, not a member of the fringe, anti-American AIP (Alaskan Independence Party) of which he was a long-time member.

Goodbye and good riddance to the Palins! You sure gave us a lot of laughs while you were around, but it'll be nice send you permanently back "North to Alaska"!
