"Morning has broken, like the first morning." A new day is born. Hope is reborn in the eyes of our people and through a young and well spoken President elect here in the United States.

Approximately 150 years from the Civil War and 50 years from the Civil Rights movement, America now has it's first African-American President. Tears of joy were shed all over the nation last night in this moment of healing. Obama electrified the Nation for the last 24 months and brought back faith in the country, government and the belief in American Dream with each vote that was tallied in his favor.

Prior to today, America never had the opportunity to elect a viable minority candidate. Fox's TV series 24 had the honorable David Palmer. Although ficticious, he was the best American President that the American youth had seen in a generation. Did the television series help calm fears and help demonstrate that anyone can be President? That one should not be judged for the content of their skin but for the worth of their character? Yes. Did David Palmer and the Fox series 24 influence and help squash racial bias and give people hope? Probably not but it is an interesting theory.

Here's to you America! Whether Obama or McCain you believed in America and turned out in record numbers to vote yesterday. Both men worthy of the White House but only one could win. It's been a historic voyage and I hope this election will further people's drive to have a say and vote in every election from now on.
