SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT...4,774,907 Californians voted No on Prop 8, while 6, 153,400 voted for Barak Obama. That means that 1,378,493 Californians who voted for a new era in America to bring to a close chapter in a long civil rights movement decided that hate, discrimination, and seperate but equal was still okay for them when it came to gays. HAVE WE LEARNED NOTHING. Building on this.... see http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/polls/#CAI01p1 for exit polls by demographic. What it tells is that 75% of black women and 70% of blacks total who voted in California voted YES on proposition 8. WOW! That is higher than any other group. So all those gay Obama volunteers who helped to get out the vote for Obama, ended up getting a lot of people to the polls who just voted for discrimination against gays. NOT COOL! We must fight homophobia in the black community. Also, Obama's win comes with a huge sacrifice from the California gay community. Gays got Obama votes at the expense of their own righs.
