The current global economic crisis did not begin with 911 in 2001 . It began in 1995 in Washington DC with Hillary Clinton's effort to fix the Healthcare Crisis when she was the First Lady .She told the nation when we elected Bill , we elected her . I wish we hadn't . Hillary and Bill's administration legislated 2nd trimester abortions . Catholic Hospitals like Georgetown University refused to abort children who could live outside the womb . And GUH did not comply with Clinton policy to have a Gay Student Union . So It lost federal funding closing many of its colleges . Single mothers who had worked for years in cleaning jobs at GUH to get an employee benefit of a free college education for dependents , lost their American dream too when layoffs began . The Sun and the Post ignored Clinton fiascos but some radio stations slammed them . Hillary protested that her fixes only affected some rich white hospitals but Howard University Hospital was devastated by her shenanigans too. Battling hospitals laid off entire departments . A massive loss of jobs induced a wave of homelessness.The housing market in Washington DC crumbled for the first time since the Great Depression .Homes were worth less than the mortgages . Decades of equity was wiped out with one bungling administration . She told the Clinton to keep them at home to help the homelessn on the streets of every major city , instead. But the Clintons closed homeless shelters by cutting federal funding . Montgomery County Maryland used old schools for Senior Citizen Centres during the day and homeless shelters at night . In 1994 , my family volunteered for a year at one of these homeless shelters . Kids slept on blue "egg carton " lice sprayed foam on old basketball floors without teddy bears or even sheets , pillows and blankets . Nothing could be stored there not even a toy . Donated toys were not allowed either At 7 am , without a shower, everyone was booted . They were not allowed to return until 7 pm . So lice covered kids slept in shopping carts in rich Montgomery County . And in the summer , the shelters closed because it was warm enough to sleep outside , of course . How callous the Clintons were . I lived in Maryland from 1957 to 1996 . The number and condition of homeless children In Montgomery County had never been like this before the Clintons. These were not old male winos whom some people could not pity . These were kids under the age of 10 who through no fault of their own were so destitute that they did not have basic health care, education or homes. In Gaithersburg , I witnessed a homeless man die under a bridge . I called 911 but three hours later no one had come . I could not move him , he was unconcious and too heavy . People rushed by with their Christmas shopping ignoring the blue corpse . A local pub owner promised to call again and again until someone came to pick up the body . I went home in tears . The result of the Clintons coming to town was that the recession proof suburbs of Washington DC collapsed . My husband got laid off from his job of 25 years at GUH . I got laid off too. Our home which had been worth 235 thousand in 1990 was now worth 162 thousand in 1996 . All of our equity was lost . Our home was foreclosed . In 1993 , we adopted two children from Ukraine . We had four other biological children . We had bought our third home in Gaithersburg . Bill worked as an engineer and I worked as a teacher .We had 40 thousand in the bank before the Clintons came to town .But in 1996 we could not afford to rent an apartment when they took our house for being behind 3 months. So we shifted to Australia to begin again with some severence pay from the lay off . When 911 shocked the world and began the global downward spiral , it had already begun in Washington DC . Our family was part of the Clinton fallout 4 years before 911.
