Days Inn - Swainsboro, GA
November 9, 2008 | Swainsboro, Georgia | Vetting explained
On my return cross country flight from Savannah, GA back to Pensacola, FL, my Naval TH-57C training helicopter indicated low transmission oil pressure. I was forced to perform an emegency landing into a small airport in Swainsboro, GA. This is the view from my hotel room at Days Inn where we will remain overnight until maintenance can fly another helicopter out here tomorrow. Yes, we ate lunch/dinner at the "New China Restaurant" seen in the pic.... Not a whole lot else here, but at least I made it to an airport and I am not sitting with my helo in a farmer's field in the middle of BFE.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
