Santa Barbara Forest Fire

Quick moving forest fire breaks out in foothills above Santa Barbara, California just after 5:30pm PST Thursday November 13. Fire reported around the Las Alturas Road area between Santa Barbara and neighboring Montecito. Gusts in foothills of up to 70 mph reported by local weather service, sustained winds at 52 mph.
Evacuations in effect for North of Mountain Drive and Cold Springs Road. Westmont College is also being evacuated. Unconfirmed reports of homes on fire. Reports from 700 Block of East Mountain Drive that flames are surrounding homes.
Traffic is mounting as neighborhoods evacuate.
