Tragic Tale Phenomenal Photo
November 16, 2008 | Sunland, California | Vetting explained
In the midst of one of the worst Southern California fire tragedies in 47 years freelance photographer Anthony Bowling, of Sunland, captured this early morning image from his balcony on November 15th, 2008. Every picture does tell a story and is worth 1000 words. That said here is his picture snapped at 3:00am looking west toward the Sayre fire in Sylmar. There are no words to convey the loss, sadness and tragedy that befell so many who lost so much. The photo says so much. Hearts and thoughts are with you all.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
