I am a teacher at a K-12 independent school in Kentucky.
Students in my community service group Stitch for a Cause have been
making baby caps for Save the Children's Knit One, Save One
campaign.
The students learned that over 4 million newborns die each
year in developing countries due to preventable causes, like
hypothermia.
Students in third grade through high school have
been making baby caps and writing letters to our new President asking
for more US support for programs that can make a difference for
kids around the world.
Charlie is one of my fifth graders and has become an
excellent knitter in a very short time. I hope the President and
others will listen to these children's voices and do more to help
other kids in need.
