I am wondering if other people feel the same about religion as I do.
When people ask me what my religion is, I always respond by saying
I am spiritual but not religious. I believe in God, but I don't
care for going to churches to worship. Is there anyone out there
who feels the same as I do? I am always turned off by how big some
churches have become, or how people say they go to church but they
are really judgmental and don't really live by what they learn. The
times I have attended church, I alway felt like a number and not a
real member. When I also saw how the Catholic Church attacked our
president on tv the other day, it made me sad because I feel it was
very disrespectful. When I see things like that, it pushes me
farther away from ever sitting inside any church period.
Just recently, I had an experience that really affected me a
lot and I am don't know what to make of it. I answered an ad on
craigslist for a company who was looking for a new idea for a
reality show. When I suggested my idea to them, they really liked
it so much to where they asked me to come for an interview. When I
arrived, they asked me to be the host and I was so flattered. They
went on to say how they are Christians and they believe in God, and
so forth. Right after our meeting they stood around and prayed.
Well, when I got home, I received a few emails saying they loved my
idea so much but it would be best if someone else was the host and
they would call me when they needed me. I feel they just
manipulated me just to steal my idea and run off with it. I am not
in show business, but a few years ago I went through a really bad
experience and I came up with a great idea to use what I have
learned to help others. I always thought it would be great to have
more motivational speakers on tv in addition to Suzie Orman, and my
idea was to find people who have been through something in their
lives and turn them into motivational speakers. I thought by having
it on tv, it would inspire others to see they can make a difference
in this world or in their community.
