TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY
November 12, 2008. I feel like a lost citizen today. Wall
Street and all losers are not irresponsible and foolish. Millions
of us retirees with private pensions funded with securities are big
losers without any help from the tax dollars we will pay in the
funding of the bailout plan. There are millions of us getting the
short end of the stick with no help from anyone. Today is my
birthday and yesterday was Veteran's day but being 75 years old and
an overseas Veteran with a worried mind does little to help me
celebrate either of these days. My IRA is dropping in value by the
minute and my retirement pension is smaller and getting more so
every day, yet I must sell sometime before the end of this year,
one might say a "fire Sale" of my stocks and bonds to meet the
required minimum distribution rule. Help, rescue, and bail-out for
everyone except us, 70 1/2+ year olds with an IRA, or 401K,or
403(b). I guess being an overseas veteran, a good citizen, and a
hard working man does not mean much to people in government these
days. The rich and famous get all the help while silent and weak
retired people like me only get the opportunity to pay taxes to
help others, and are left with the shaft in the wrong place; a
shrunken pension and worry about our future.
HELP FOR US WOULD HAVE NO LONG TERM EFFECT ON REVENUE, FOR
EVENUTALLY ALL DISTRIBUTIONS WILL BE TAXED. IT WILL INCREASE
REVENUE IN THE FUTURE AFTER THE ECONOMY RECOVERS FROM THIS
CRSIS.
Yes you can, but I can't, and
keep hope alive are for those with the dough and clot, but
it ignores us, the very people that have make this country what is
has been for the last half century. We seniors were promised a
rescue for our pension plans, and now it seems to have been
forgotten by our President elect and Senator McCain. But, I will
not forget your neglect and if we seniors live long enough to vote
again, it will be different, I promise you. My promise will not be
like the one I heard before the last election. Please read on. Ed
