iReport —
Hi, I'm currently in production on Jathia's Wager, a collaborative Sci-Fi film where the audience has a chance to participate in the movie's creation. Anyone interested in contributing to the project is invited to join our team. We've got people from all over the world coming together to make this film, so even if you can't physically be on set, there are opportunities to contribute to all aspects of the production; including a wiki where the audience can influence the plot and future direction of the episodes. Jathia’s Wager is a science fiction story about a young man living in an isolated community of humans, who must make a life changing decision about his future and his species. Our team just released the first video clip for this project, a prequel teaser trailer that we shot to generate buzz, get our production team working together, and introduce the Jathia's Wager universe. Please check it out, share it with your friends and tell us what you think. Here is a link to the prequel :http://moviepals.org/blog/open-source-sci-fi-movie-trailer-for-jathias-wager-released/ The direct YouTube link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzZKHGqTk5w We are currently working on a 20 minute short film that will introduce the fictional universe and serve as the first episode for this concept. We've already received international attention (AMC TV, Zdnet, Film Fests - press links at the end) for our collaborative filmmaking approach and "open source" release. Here is the link to the main Jathia's Wager site (still in development please excuse the mess):http://moviepals.org/solomons-corner/jathias-wager/ If you're interested in contributing to the filmmaking process you're invited to join the open source films meetup group (http://www.meetup.com/opensourcefilms/), this is where we organize the production effort : I'd appreciate any feedback that you may have. I hope you like the prequel, consider joining our team and watching the initial short film when it is released in January (it's a lot more intricate with a well developed story and much more sophisticated special effects). Thanks, Solomon Rothman Writer, Director, Actor solomon@rothman.name http://moviepals.org Press links and exposure this film has already received (amazing considering it's still in production and is being produced without a budget).
