Because The United States is the only country celebrating Thanksgiving, I will only nominate US politicians... and with that said, Here are the Top Five (in reverse Order similar to David Letterman).

Number 5 Barney Frank, sitting on the Bailout Committee. Not a speck of oversight for the loose cannons rolling around on the deck of the floundering GWB Minnow, putting payola here, and there and even there in AIG's pocket. Buying a little of this and a lot of that, all to pay off the Evil Empire that put our country in this position.

Number 4 Henry Paulson for even THINKING that the purchase of stock in banks does not stink of socialism. With the 700 Billion he was handed as a blank check, he should be able to start handing it out as was the intent of the passed legislation, instead of sitting and thinking that it should buy stock, shares, or interest in the banking industry. Heaven knows we are already saddled with politicians, and now we have bankers on our backs also?

Number 3 CEOs with "golden parachutes" that land in Washington in corporate jets, and before leaving the friendly confines of the posh interior for the cold harsh elements of the Washington climate check to see if the tin cups have enough rust on for looks. We all have heard about how they can make cars do anything, now how about making them do one thing? Get more than thirty five miles per gallon? The plan should be for GM to pay a "reasonable wage", and give the customer what they want, not what the auto companies want to give and for the price that the auto companies want to charge. Suck it up gents, and learn to speak Japanese, German, or some other foreign language where they know how to make vehicles, and at a price that Americans can afford to pay.

Number 2 G W Bush, undoubtedly the worst president in history. Can his Presidential portrait be hung next to Benedict Arnolds warrant papers? Bush not only devastated Iraq and Afghanistan with his "War on Terror", trying to find the missing Weapons of Mass Destruction, and a tall Arab with a grungy looking beard, he also paid back Big Business by allowing our jobs to be exported off shore, pushed CAFTA, FTAA, the World Bank, and single handedly paid for all the transgressions of our forefathers by picking up the tab as well. By shipping jobs overseas and making this a service oriented economy, he forgot one thing.... He needed to create schools there the main course was Burger Counter Helper 101.

and finally Number 1, (drumroll please)....

like a Turducken, Number 2, was stuffed from the backside with Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, and all the other "Presidential Yes Men" thanks to lack of regulation on the part of government to see that government rules  itself the way it should. Deregulation is great for the government, but not good for those that the government serves - the taxpayer. Stock markets, that held trillions (now more closely billions), needed government regulation and allowing Big Business to play with our futures like a cat plays with a ball of yarn, was irresponsible and showed lack of back bone on the part of any cabinet. Get this mess cleared up will be a hard thing to do - and getting financial recovery back to the taxpayers will be harder yet. Economic plans should include the following:

Repeal of NAFTA, CAFTA, FTAA, and renouncing the World Bank.

Limiting Foreign Aid to less than 5% annually, unless natural diswasters take place. Provide schools built with American labor, materials, and with American oversight instead of cash payments.

Bring back regulation of the stock market, the companies on the stock market, and all govermental agencies by unannounced audits (by people other than Aurthur Anderson, et al).
