My Hero: My brother
November 29, 2008 | Tennessee | Vetting explained
I was about 6 when my brother arrived home from the hospital, and I instantly decided he did not belong to US. He was red, wrinkled and had squinty slanted eyes! But, my mother insisted we KEEP him! Through our childhood we had our moments, but mostly I resented his cute red hair and sweet smile! He stole my teddy bear and beat it into rags!! However, he and his wife are now my HEROES!
Due to my husbands progressive hearing loss and unemployment we nearly lost our home recently. That grown up wrinkled red baby now has a beard and a BIG heart! Thanks to his Love and kindness to us we still have our little home! Thanks also to his wife for her support in this .
Always remember, as I do, family is based on love...that lasts FOREVER!
Celebrate the love of your family!
We thank God for the family we treasure!
Thank you brother and sister inlaw, from the deepest part of my heart!

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
