So much ado about the Obama's choice of a pooch! Barack has voiced his opinion that he would prefer a larger breed while Michelle apparently is open to all sizes. No matter what breed or mutt they finally choose, the bottom line is that it needs to be hypo-allergenic for their daughter.....at least, as much as any canine can be. But, for those of you who don't prefer man's best friend in smaller sizes, it might be a bit harder to find a larger one that does not wreak havoc in humans with allergies. Barack might just have to compromise on this one. Case in point, my husband had no interest, whatsoever, in having a small dog when I decided I wanted a Yorkie. Yes, a Yorkie!! Kid me all you want. I never was a dog person until I met my first Yorkie, but I fell in love with the breed. And, since I am married to the greatest guy in the world, he gave in after a few years of pleading. I never thought in my wildest of dreams he would ever come to, not only show interest in our pup, but to love it. Well, it only took a short period of time, and now sometimes I wonder if he loves the little guy even more than I do (which is pretty darn hard). So, for all you big dog lovers, if you give a small dog a chance they, too, can capture your heart!
