Russia was a principal part of Super Power Soviet Union.
China and India claim to fame was their cheap labor. Now they are
touted as possible super powers. I scoffed at that because you
never forget History when you are analyzing. They are not going to
be super powers.
Recently, Russia was making waves due to high revenue from
oil sales. Oli prices tumbled in a hurry and they are reassessing
their emergences. China too is beginning to show cracks due to the
world recession and no demand for their products. India being a
part of Britain's Commonwealth has a different take.
Many years ago, India was considered Third World but their
cheap labor helped changed their fortunes. Capitalists realized
that the wages for their factory workers could pay for the whole
operations in India and China. So they relocated and transferred
some technologies. These economies learned quickly and created
variations on the transferred technologies. Now india was invited
to the Rich Nations' Club the other day. This has given them a new
prospective on everything.
The only way India could be expected to super up; is if they
develop some unique high demand new product. Perhaps, make diamond
and gold. As long as they are dependent on foreign markets to sell
what they just assembled; after buying raw materials abroad, it is
a small percentage profit margin. It can only happen with greatly
favorable sustained net exports.
