iReport —

I'm Brian Glanz, and I'm a social entrepreneur in Seattle. My question is about the Gates Foundation's program called "Grand Challenges in Global Health." The third round of topics for the Grand Challenges will be announced in March of 2009. Considering the global economic crisis, should you require that proposals offer not only innovation in healthcare, but also a good business model -- so the programs you support can potentially support themselves? The general question is: should we be moving away from charity and toward social entrepreneurship?
